Hey there. Just a quick reminder that you aren't allowed to use notice templates such as construction on your userpage, as this categorizes your page and places it within Category:Articles under construction (which is reserved for mainspace articles only). Instead, you are welcome to copy the template's source (minus the category), if you wish to still show a construction notice.

Thanks for reading, and keep contributing.

Whoops! I didn't know that. Thanks for the reminder! Ultimate Mr. L (talk) 13:46, 8 September 2016 (EDT)
No worries, I already fixed it up for you.

theories

There is only one problem with the Bowser is King Boo theory. Bowser became Dry Bowser after he fell into lava. Why would this happen?

There are many problems with the Bowser Jr. is a clone theory. Why would Bowser create more clones (Bowser Imposters from Super Mario 3D Land, Dry Bowsers after Bowser revive)? Why would Bowser say that Peach is his mother and never tell him the truth? Why would he keep the Koopalings after Bowser Jr. was successful (for they come back ever after defeated)? What machine in both universes would be able to create a clone? Why would Bowser Jr. act differently in front of his paper counterpart? I want you to answer this on your main page. Talk pages are not normally the best places to talk about personal beliefs. There are forumas for that.   Yoshi the SSM (talk) 23:05, 8 September 2016 (EDT)

Lava seems to have different effects on Bowser than other things, which is probably why he hasn't been completely killed yet. Note that Bowser Jr./Kamek/The Koopalings are able to revive him after he falls into Lava. After they do, there are some oddities about Giant Bowser. In Wii, look at Bowser's hair. It seems to be glowing bright orange. Also, lava doesn't harm him anymore when he's giant. In 2, when he rears back for a claw swipe, his head goes into the shadows and you can see that his eyes are glowing orange. Besides that, he is able to summon lava. And in U, he has a claw swipe attack where his hands light on fire. All these suggest that Giant Bowser somehow has power over lava and that lava doesn't exactly have as negative effects on him, so it doesn't completely kill him. This is why a Bowser spirit doesn't appear when Bowser drops into lava, only Dry Bowser. However, there may have been an instance where Mario didn't use lava to defeat him, so he was completely killed.
To answer your other questions: There's another theory that I should post that's by a friend of mine so that this makes total sense, but basically, there are many different Mario universes (explaining some lacks of continuity). 3D Land and World seem to take place in a universe where Bowser Jr. and the Koopalings don't exist, so Bowser is still making Bowser Impostors. Bowser telling Junior that Peach is his mother was just for Sunshine; the truth was revealed to Junior at the end. Why would Bowser not keep the Koopalings? They're not a genius and they aren't complete clones like Bowser Jr, but they are decent minions. In Mario Pat DS, Bowser seems to be able to make machines like Bowser Jr., so he could probably make a cloning machine. I'm not sure what you mean by acting differently in front of his paper counterpart. They both seem like the same bratty, but technologically ingenious jerk. And for the last one, User Talk Pages are different from other talk pages. (That, and I don't have a forum account). Ultimate Mr. L (talk) 12:04, 9 September 2016 (EDT)
I see your point. Lava turned Bowser into Dry Bowser only in New Super Mario Bros. and Mario Party 10.
As for the theory of parallel universes, I do believe that they exist. Mario and Luigi universe and Paper Mario universe were together in Mario and Luigi: Paper Jam. However, these two are the only ones that are confirmed. And by judging how creating these works, their would have been games which would have not existed in certain time lines. Small time line differences are created by the players. Big time line differences are created by time travel. One example is Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time which caused three different time lines to happen. Time Travel also created the Paper Mario universe from Mario and Luigi universe (Bowser knew that he would fail and decided not to go back in time, but doing so cause Mario RPG to happen and latter Paper Mario. Not much is known about the time in between. But that means, what happened with Yoshi's New Island time line differences? The only explanation is that Bowser went back in time to fix the time line to what he remembers. But this means that the time line splits from that try possibly. It is enough that time lines could split. But trying to figure out which games appeared in the time lines is kind of difficult. But, assuming that it is after Super Mario 64, Super Mario Bros. 3 appeared in both. It may be that Bowser found Bowser Jr. in the time line after he changed it in Yoshi's New Island and never did tell him his mother all because he never knew Bowser Jr. mother. which would mean that Bowser from that time line would have became something else if not set to the Underwhere. Also, I found another technique to create clones. It was a bubble machine (Mario Party: Island Tour) which is very accurate, but not 100%. The clones where of Mario and co. and Bowser Jr. So try to figure this out. Also, I thought the best place for you to put the info was your main page. One more thing, Bowser and Paper Bowser never did get along when they met. Bowser Jr. and Paper Bowser Jr. started not liking each other but soon liked each other.   Yoshi the SSM (talk) 13:28, 9 September 2016 (EDT)

After a while, I seem to find myself accepting the Bowser and King Boo are the same. The only time this is false is when they both appear together (I am not counting the Luigi's Mansion series.) I am not going to proclaim it like you are though.

As for the Bowser Jr. is a clone theory, I can't find myself buying it. The first point of the theory is not hard core. I actually know somebody when that person was young looked like that person's child. As for people that neither think that Bowser Jr. is a clone nor think that Bowser Jr. is Bowser's actual son, they think that Bowser Jr. is Bowser. Obviously the third option is more flawed than your theory when it comes to Mario and Luigi: Paper Jam. If you want to try to convince me that Bowser Jr. is a clone, do it on my talk page. Put "RE: theories" down. Why? This is only practice. Practice for talk pages/talk page proposals that require you to stand on your words.

Also, the reason why you shouldn't put personal information on the internet is because whatever you put something up on the internet, it will stay there even if you try very hard to get rid of it. There will be someone who will copy that information and put it back on without your notice.

Now, before I go, I want your opinion on Wario. Bazooka Mario is the leader of the ones who try to exterminate (eg. showing him losing) Wario. I am not going to do that.   Yoshi the SSM (talk) 00:04, 12 September 2016 (EDT)

OK then. The Koopa Clone Theory isn't as good as the Bowser Boo Theory. As for Wario, the only time I think about him is when I hear the Bowser's Castle theme from Mario Kart 8. It sounds like a Wario theme. Other than that, no comment. I've read about the Wario campaign. I'll just stay out of it. Ultimate Mr. L (talk) 10:30, 12 September 2016 (EDT)

Image Quality

Special:ListFiles/Ultimate Mr. L/Archive 1, you uploaded a Super Paper Mario image from a YouTube video. I replaced it and updated the text to go along with the image. I suggest emulation to get your screenshots for future uploads. See here. Also the image was missing an game image category. That was corrected and you should see info here about how to do that. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 00:56, 9 September 2016 (EDT)

You should really consider an emulator with future screenshot uploads. User:Wildgoosespeeder/sandbox --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 14:52, 20 September 2016 (EDT)

Image Category Reminder

Hello, Ultimate Mr. L. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly categorize the file. It's simple to learn how to do so. Just search for the correct category by starting with the following groups:

Images Audio/video files

When uploading, copy the full title of the category and insert it in square brackets into the summary text box below the aboutfile template, replacing the uncategorized template entirely. If you're using the upload function from the text editor, simply add the category link to the description. For example, files related to the game Super Mario World would use:

or

Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Keep in mind that some files can belong to multiple categories. Do not put images into the media files category, or vice versa. If you continue uploading files without categorizing them correctly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing.

Special:ListFiles/Ultimate Mr. L/Archive 1, you uploaded several images forgetting to add an additional category, notably for Category:Paper Mario: Color Splash Images. Alex95 (talk) and I fixed that for you. Be sure to do that next time. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 15:26, 19 September 2016 (EDT)

Whoops! Sorry about that. Still learning about image uploads. By the way, you might as well delete the Color Splash images. I uploaded them, then discovered there were already better ones. I need to be more careful.   Ultimate Mr. L (Talk) 15:29, 19 September 2016 (EDT)
It's OK. As long as you make an effort next time to do what is asked of you when you upload. Tag the images you think should be deleted with delete. Be sure to edit pages appropriately that link to the file pending deletion. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 15:33, 19 September 2016 (EDT)

Thanks for listening putting the category into your newest upload. One thing though. It is best to put the category outside aboutfile. I did that. No warning or reminder for that. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 14:49, 20 September 2016 (EDT)

This is my fault for not telling you but you should specify what file is better that warrants another image for deletion. Example: :File:IggyColorSplash.png --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 15:32, 20 September 2016 (EDT)

You are forgetting to do this again. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 16:11, 4 October 2016 (EDT)

I am so, so sorry!!! I realized that last night! I was busy with school today and wasn't on much to do it. Thanks for consistently reminding me. I realize how annoying this must be.

  Ultimate Mr. L (Talk) 20:08, 4 October 2016 (EDT)

This warning has been overturned by the MarioWiki staff. The original warning can still be viewed.

This is a warning to stop your inappropriate behavior on the Super Mario Wiki. Please adhere to the rules or you will be blocked from editing this site.
If you feel this warning was undeserved, you may appeal it.

I hate to be annoying about this but you are still forgetting. I feel awkward doing this because you are responding do my messages but rules are rules so you are getting this formal warning. If you feel this is undeserved, you can appeal it. Again, nothing personal giving you this warning. Just trying to enforce the rules as best I can. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 15:43, 17 October 2016 (EDT)

Yikes! I forgot again! I need to think of a way to remember my categorization. But don't be sorry about the warning. I deserve it. It's gonna stink to have this on my record though. Why can't I remember this?! Am I babbling? Sorry, I'm just upset. With myself. Not you. You're just doing your job. I'm the annoying one, not you. Maybe I should just stop uploading images if I'm going to keep forgetting and stick to normal edits. That's my strong suit anyway.
  Ultimate Mr. L (Talk-Contribs-Stats) 16:48, 17 October 2016 (EDT)
I suggest that you put a reminder on your user page so that you don't forget it anymore.   Yoshi the SSM (talk)16:50, 17 October 2016 (EDT)
Is it possible to make some sort of template appear above the page on certain days or while performing certain tasks? If not, that would be a cool feature to have. For my problem, I could have a template appear while uploading files telling me to categorize them. I hate it when I forget important stuff like this. When it comes to images, I just come off as annoying. But I deserve the warning. I failed to follow wiki policy, whether by accident or on purpose, so there's no reason to appeal it. Sigh.
  Ultimate Mr. L (Talk-Contribs-Stats) 16:58, 17 October 2016 (EDT)
You can create a fake box to put at the top of your page (copy the coding of the status bar from my page, if you like) as a sort of reminder to yourself. Otherwise, this is just something you'll have to work on remembering.    17:02, 17 October 2016 (EDT)
The best way to handle this problem is to try really hard to make it a habit. It's kind of like me and uploading PNGs. I try to make sure they are uploaded in an optimized state (PNG Monstrous) before uploading. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 17:03, 17 October 2016 (EDT)
It was a habit for a while, then I didn't upload any images for a while and forgot.
  Ultimate Mr. L (Talk-Contribs-Stats) 17:06, 17 October 2016 (EDT)

Very good reminder. One more thing, if you still find yourself not remember and you are given a last warning, stop uploading images, but not until then.   Yoshi the SSM (talk) 17:14, 17 October 2016 (EDT)

Added the status bar and changed my bookmark so it takes me to my page instead of the Main Page. That way I'll see it whenever I get on. That should help. Categorizing is kind of a new thing to me. This is my first wiki and even though a read a lot of the Help pages before I joined, I missed categorization. Also, if I get a last warning, I'll be too busy panicking to upload any more images anyway.
  Ultimate Mr. L (Talk-Contribs-Stats) 17:18, 17 October 2016 (EDT)
I'm starting to think this warning was undeserved. Reminders say, and I quote, If the action continues deliberately, then a warning will be issued. I wasn't forgetting to categorize images on purpose! I don't know. maybe it is deserved because I was forgetting so consistently. What does everyone else think?
  Ultimate Mr. L (Talk-Contribs-Stats) 15:21, 21 October 2016 (EDT)

If you don't think you deserved it, appeal it. (under cases). Contact Wildgoosespeeder to defend himself when you do.)   Yoshi the SSM (talk) 15:29, 21 October 2016 (EDT)

Future Games

Are you interested in the game: Paper Mario: Color Splash? Or are you just helping it out? What are your thoughts about that game? Will you be one of those who puts that article together once it is released to the general public? I know that I would do it if the Wii U wasn't so expensive, at least I think I would. Who knows? Don't answer that last one.   Yoshi the SSM (talk)

I probably won't end up getting the game, as the plot looks like it'll be just as dumb, if not dumber, than Sticker Star. The only hope for a better plot is the Black Paint. Peach said that Bowser was acting strange. Maybe the Black Paint is actually a living entity that is controlling Bowser. Perhaps it'll be similar to the plot of the fan-game, Super Mario 63. Have you played it? Bowser uses an ancient relic called the Orb of Power in hoes that it will help him take over the Mushroom Kingdom, but the Orb seems to have a will of its own and Bowser ends up trying to destroy the planet rather than conquer it. Think the Black Paint may the be the equivalent to the Orb of Power? I hope so, but maybe it's just wishful thinking. The latest Mario RPGs have been pretty bad. Nonetheless, I'm on the watch for new info on the game.   Ultimate Mr. L (Talk) 16:08, 19 September 2016 (EDT)
I have played Super Mario 63, but I didn't know what it was called. Although it is possible for the black paint to be separate, that's not the only choice. It could be a clone like your theory of the Bowser Jr. is a clone, but not in the same method as Bowser Jr. would be if that theory was true. Another theory is that the black Bowser is just someone in disguise. Out of the three, which one do you think makes a better story? I am also hoping that they will include Bowser Jr.'s mother in this game somewhere, but to you, if your theory is right, that would mean that they are from the same machine, unless Paper Bowser shows the machine as separate from the machine the machine that made Bowser. The machine clone theory means that the clone got the black paint, not Bowser, unless Bowser used it to make that clone and that clone turned out to be black. No matter what Nintendo does, I believe that Bowser's normal pose will be in the game.   Yoshi the SSM (talk) 16:21, 19 September 2016 (EDT)

I see it on your user page. But, according to my statics, it won't be worst than Sticker Star, so the image may be wrong unless it really is that horrible. What are your thoughts on Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild? Or have you even heard of it? (With the many rumors out there and it being at E3 and it is a first party game for a new system, it would be surprising that you don't know it.)   Yoshi the SSM (talk) 18:53, 19 September 2016 (EDT)

I don't play Zelda games.  Ultimate Mr. L (Talk) 18:55, 19 September 2016 (EDT)
I have only played three of the Zelda games.   Yoshi the SSM (talk) 19:00, 19 September 2016 (EDT)
Although it does seem weird that you have seen Brawl, sort of remember Melee, and played Wii U, yet you don't play Zelda games. The characters of Zelda along with other games appeared in that game. Although, I once did play Brawl (I don't anymore) and I haven't played Kirby or Fire Emblem. By the way, do you look forward to playing the Nintendo NX?   Yoshi the SSM (talk) 21:48, 19 September 2016 (EDT)
I know a little bit about Zelda, but I'm not really interested. And yes, I look forward to the Nintendo NX. A question for you: Do you think the Mario series is losing its edge?  Ultimate Mr. L (Talk) 10:26, 20 September 2016 (EDT)
I honestly don't know. If you want to, you can put the games you want Nintendo to do on the NX (It will most likely not have U in the names of the games; the only exception is that the system has backwards capatity). By the way, do you know how and why Super Mario 63 is on the computer? (I will tell you why I'm asking after you respond.)   Yoshi the SSM (talk) 11:45, 20 September 2016 (EDT)
I would assume because it's not an official game. I wonder how they got permission from Nintendo.  Ultimate Mr. L (Talk) 12:54, 20 September 2016 (EDT)
The owner of Super Mario 63 went to Nintendo. He wanted it put on the Wii. Nintendo denied it (for it would of caused a confliction with the Super Mario Series), but they suggested he put it online and told him how to do it. You can ask Nintendo if they can put one of your games on a console. Even if Nintendo denies it, they will suggest another option for which you can put your games on.   Yoshi the SSM (talk) 13:06, 20 September 2016 (EDT)
Wow! That's really cool! That's just what I need!  Ultimate Mr. L (Talk) 13:20, 20 September 2016 (EDT)

Personal Images

Were you trying to use File:King Ka Thunk Battle.PNG and File:Kretin Battle.PNG as personal images? You linked them to your profile only before I repurposed them. We have a policy for that (MarioWiki:Personal images). From what I can see, the images you uploaded could be and is being used on their main articles. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 20:41, 20 September 2016 (EDT)

Well, I did get the idea for them when I realized I wanted them for my userpage, but I thought they could be useful elsewhere. They aren't edited or anything, so I though "Hey, I can help the Wiki and my userpage. Convenient!" Though I guess I should have thought to put them on the corresponding pages. *Smacks forehead* Oops!File:Mr L Render.png Ultimate Mr. L (Talk) 20:46, 20 September 2016 (EDT)
No worries. For File:King Ka Thunk Battle.PNG, did you know you can get 1280x720 screenshots uploaded by playing Wii U games live? As you play, open the built-in web browser, navigate to MarioWiki (or any website that allows for uploads), go to Special:Upload (or click upload a new version of this file if the file already exists on MarioWiki), and then click browse. A special dialog pops-up with two images; top image being your TV screen and the bottom image being the game pad. That's how I uploaded File:SM3DWBaddieBox.jpg. The screenshots are limited to JPEG and MarioWiki won't allow you to upload JPEGs over PNGs (or any mismatched file type for that matter due to MIME types). MarioWiki might display in mobile mode when loading MarioWiki on the Wii U. Just switch to desktop view by scrolling all the way down the webpage. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 00:51, 21 September 2016 (EDT)
Wow, that's a really cool feature. I gotta try that sometime.File:Mr L Render.png Ultimate Mr. L (Talk) 10:24, 21 September 2016 (EDT)

User Page Improvement

This is the section where anyone can make a comment of how he can improve his user page. I was thinking that you should put a top 10 list of favorite characters or just a list of favorite characters. It is nice to know who is on the top. I personally haven't thought about it that much on my article, but then again, I don't even know what characters will be on that list. I do have a favorites list. You could do something like that if you don't what to do a favorite character list. Whatever you do, it will go nice near the favorite bosses. Also, once you beat Shadoo, you should put him in your article somewhere #Flopside Pit of 100 Trials twice in one profile.   Yoshi the SSM (talk)

Ok then. I'm trying not to have more userpage edits than real edits, but now that I look at my Editcount, I see I don't have anything to worry about. Once I beat Flopside Pit of 100 Trials, I was going to add it to my Userbox and then add him to my favorite bosses (he isn't there now because I'm only putting bosses I've fought there.)File:Mr L Render.png Ultimate Mr. L (Talk) 21:40, 20 September 2016 (EDT)
You have to beat all 90 floors (9 are enemy free and I'm not counting them) twice in a single save file before you can fight Shadoo. And by the way, in your preferences, you should place in the "Signature" box. This way, when you sign comments the template will appear, and not the raw coding. Like my sig.  Yoshi the SSM (talk) 21:44, 20 September 2016 (EDT)
Yes, I know. That's insane. You have to have a lot of game time on your hands to beat the Pits.File:Mr L Render.png Ultimate Mr. L (Talk) 21:46, 20 September 2016 (EDT)
Here's what I did with the main person that I played with was Luigi: Beat the game, gathered all pixls, beat the Duel of 100, beat Flipside Pit, then the Flopside Pit was a lot easier than when you have first time access to the Flopside Pit or just beat the game and Flipside pit. It was still a little hard. If you want, I can give you a copy of what to expect in the Flopside Pit. It can be really helpful.   Yoshi the SSM (talk) 21:53, 20 September 2016 (EDT)
Last time I tried it, I died on floor 66 to a Dark Chomp. I'm thinking I need a little boost. Next time I try, I'll level a few times first by replaying levels (I've tried the Duel of 100 and I'm just going to do that after Flopside Pit). I also found out that it's super easy to make an Emergency Ration, so I'll have Dyllis make a few of those. I have a lot of items, but none as good as the all-mighty Emergency Ration.File:Mr L Render.png Ultimate Mr. L (Talk) 21:59, 20 September 2016 (EDT)
Speaking of Emergency Rations, do you agree it would have been more interesting if, instead of refilling 50 HP in Pits of 100 Trials and 10 everywhere else, they refilled 50 HP when the player is critical and 10 everywhere else? I actually thought that's what I did because I first saw one used when a player was critical.File:Mr L Render.png Ultimate Mr. L (Talk) 22:00, 20 September 2016 (EDT)
Leveling up is a good idea. Since you have Dashell, you can grab a Shell Shock and use it in Level 8-4 at the very beginning (before you moving in the level) to get a lot of points. I don't know whether it is the pits or critical stat. I don't know which would be cooler though, but using it when critical will mean that you use it more. Anyway, I never did use Emergency Rations when I went down. I used Shroom Steaks for 70+ and Dyllis Deluxes for 90+. They are expessive options, but they do help when you have a lot of HP you can fill yourself with.   Yoshi the SSM (talk) 22:20, 20 September 2016 (EDT)

If you are going to use a Red Yoshi for a user box about me, use File:YoshiRed-CSS2-MSS.png, but since you don't want any friend requests, say Yoshi the Space Station Manager (or a variation of this) likes this page, but is not a friend, but he can be friendly.   Yoshi the SSM (talk) 20:51, 25 October 2016 (EDT)

I'll say "This user works closely with Yoshi the Space Station Manager (Talk)".
  Ultimate Mr. L (Talk-Contribs-Stats) 21:02, 25 October 2016 (EDT)
Good idea.   Yoshi the SSM (talk) 21:03, 25 October 2016 (EDT)

I noticed that the media files don't become smaller when faced with userboxtower. I suggest making a new userboxtower in the amiibo section otherwise you won't reach the bottom. Make sure you make a note in the current userboxtower.   Yoshi the SSM (talk) 14:04, 27 October 2016 (EDT)

Maybe I'll just get rid of that section. It's not essential and most of the soundtracks don't even have files. I'll just link to the website where I listen to music. If you like video game music, you should check out the site. I'll add it soon. Thanks for the tip.
P.S. I'm getting close. Maybe I'll actually reach the bottom! :-)
  Ultimate Mr. L (Talk-Contribs-Stats) 14:08, 27 October 2016 (EDT)

Applying Transparency/White To Images

What you did with File:SM64DS Angry Wiggler.png (source) and File:SM64DS Wiggler.png, it turned out blurry. Keep the original resolution of the image you are editing. No resizing, especially from smaller to bigger. That way, no blur occurs during editing. Also, file size will be much lower once an optimizer has been applied to the PNG. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 18:42, 25 September 2016 (EDT)

Super Paper Mario

I've never played a Mario RPG before, but recently I have become interested in Super Paper Mario because it looks like it has a cool plot and cool characters. Would you recommend it as a good first RPG to play? Earlier I said I haven't played any Mario RPGs, but now that I think about it, I've never played any RPG. I'd just like to know your thoughts on the matter. --  (talk · edits) 18:04, 27 September 2016 (EDT)

It's my favorite game and the first RPg I've played, but it may be a little too different to be your first RPG. I would recommend Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. But you should definitely play Super Paper Mario! Best game ever!!!File:Mr L Render.png Ultimate Mr. L (Talk) 12:20, 28 September 2016 (EDT)

Judging from you're userpage, you haven't played any of the other Mario and Luigi games. Do you know if they're generally considered better or worse than Bowser's Inside Story? --  (talk · edits) 14:06, 28 September 2016 (EDT)

Check the pages for all of the Mario & Luigi games and look for the Reception sections. That tells you what critics have to say about them and helps you judge which game is best. I would not recommend Paper Jam or Sticker Star for your first RPG, as those games are both infamous for relatively simple plots.File:Mr L Render.png Ultimate Mr. L (Talk) 14:07, 29 September 2016 (EDT)

Yeah, I've heard a lot of bad things about Sticker Star. Thanks for the input! --  (talk · edits) 17:55, 29 September 2016 (EDT)

For any user who happens to enter this page

Is there anyone on the Super Mario Wiki who knows how to move images behind images? I wanted to add an emblem behind Ultimate Mr. L (Who, at the moment, looks exactly like the real Mr. L), but I have no idea how to move an image behind another without covering up the behind image completely.

Licensing

Even if you get a picture from a YouTube video of a game being played, just tag it as a game screenshot (game-screenshot) anyways. Video screenshots (video-screenshot) are more for things like Mario Kart 8 From the Pit or The Play Nintendo Show. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 16:42, 6 October 2016 (EDT)

Hi

Whenever you sign your comments it always shows the raw coding of that comment. Rather it should show . To do that create a subpage called User:Ultimate Mr. L/sig (which you already have). Then put all the coding on that page. Go o your preferences and insert this into your signature: and now it will show your signature rather than the coding and if you want to switch it on certain days or months, user . At the end of any signature put this down {{#if:{}|{}}}. The RPG Gamer (talk) (edits)   15:22, 7 October 2016 (EDT)

It appears that you took two of my userboxes. I hereby give you permission to use them. Whoops. Didn't think about that. I've seen lots of identical userboxes, so I thought it was OK. Thanks for the heads up. And thanks for permission.
  Ultimate Mr. L (Talk-Contribs-Stats) 11:28, 18 October 2016 (EDT)

--  (talk · edits) 14:15, 18 October 2016 (EDT)
Heh. You took one from me too. No worries, though, I don't mind. :)
There are a few that have been going around for a while though. Such as the "This user is Christian" one, which has been around since 2009. While there are user-specific created userboxes, the only ones you really need to ask to use are Friend Boxes. Everything else, I believe, can be used freely, due to people having the same likes and interests.
I realize that may be rectifying what I told Luigi 64DD (talk), though. Userboxes are meant to express your likes, dislikes, gaming knowledge, etc. It's totally possible for two people to create the exact same userbox from scratch. If you're really worried about copying someone else's work on the userbox, then go ahead and send them a message.
   14:58, 18 October 2016 (EDT)
So...you don't have to ask as long as it's not a friend box? --  (talk · edits) 15:14, 18 October 2016 (EDT)
Well, like I said, if you're worried about it, you can ask. But for most cases, you don't normally have to. I know you do have to ask for the Friend Box, though.    15:16, 18 October 2016 (EDT)
That's pretty much what I figured. Sheesh, my User Talk Edits are piling up. My Mainspace edits have dropped from around 30% to about 27%. Eh, that'll probably change when I get to making Mario Maker articles this weekend. I can get a lot of those done in a short time.

A few things

When writing a TPP, be sure to include it in Proposals under Talk Page Proposals and get rid of it once it is done. I already done that for you.

If you are want to play Dream Team, you must have a one of the 3DS family (maybe Nintendo Switch if it has backwards capability to it so if is, best wait 'till it comes out unless you want to play the game now). After you buy one of the 3DS family, stay away from Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS. It is not worth it especially since you have the Wii U version. And Dream Team is not a game to recommend to children under 10 to play for their first RPG. I will need to check out the price for it again, no need to relay this info as I can find it myself.

Lastly, good job making that proposal.   Yoshi the SSM (talk) 22:11, 20 October 2016 (EDT)

Thank you, random, unnamed user. Please add a signature so I know who you are! Also, I am totally unsure how Dream Team got an E10+ rating. It's a perfectly fine game, from what I've seen. Also, just because they suggest that children under ten shouldn't play it doesn't mean it's true. I was playing E10+ games when I was 7. I plan on staying away from Super Mario Maker for 3DS, but we don't know much about it. While it looks like a downgrade now, things could change. Finally, I already have a plan for playing Dream Team. I'm borrowing it and a 3DS.
  Ultimate Mr. L (Talk-Contribs-Stats) 22:08, 20 October 2016 (EDT)
Ok, just wondering.

By the looks of it, there are two userboxes that are free to use by anyone for Nintendo Switch. Mine and Luigi 64DD. Mine has the dual meaning of Switch properly, but Luigi 64DD's (which you have) only works when used as switch and not Nintendo Switch. Just letting you know that.   Yoshi the SSM (talk) 22:33, 20 October 2016 (EDT)

Actually, mine makes as much sense as the Wii's advertising slogan: "Wii would like to play". Sort of. --  (talk · edits) 23:55, 20 October 2016 (EDT)

RE: Categorization

I figured as such because I understand that frustration, hence no further warnings issued. If you have a spare USB keyboard, connect that to your Wii U and it should work (wired or wireless). Also works on Wii as well (if supported by the firmware or program being run). It doesn't matter if it isn't Nintendo brand or Wii U certified. It works because it is a standard input device nearly universal with any modern device out there that has USB ports. Copying and pasting may not work with keyboard shortcuts (CTRL+C and CTRL+V) though because that is software level and might not be programmed for the Wii U's firmware. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 22:19, 20 October 2016 (EDT)

Userbox?

So you don't take friend requests, but I saw you had a userbox that said that you work closely with YSSM. How does that work?
  (talk · edits) 19:43, 26 October 2016 (EDT)

Well, I don't like making friends that I haven't met personally. But me and YSSM have been working together a lot, but I still hadn't met him face-to-face and didn't really know him, so I couldn't consider him a true friend. But we thought he deserved a mention on my userpage, so we came up with a solution. Rather than say we are friends, I would just say we work closely together.
  Ultimate Mr. L (Talk-Contribs-Stats) 19:48, 26 October 2016 (EDT)
I see. Well, to tell the truth, I would probably ask to be your friend if you allowed that. For some reason, I feel like you and me and him have a lot in common, probably because we're all relatively new to the wiki, and but we're also all actively editing the wiki and trying to get involved in the community, unlike all those new accounts I see that are created but hardly ever used. So I think you and me and him should work together. What do you think? (As a side note, I'm probably going to ask to be YSSM's friend soon, since I've already been working with him a lot.

  (talk · edits) 19:59, 26 October 2016 (EDT)

You could take the one on my userpage that says, "This user is Luigi 64DD" and change it say the correct text. Also, I forgot to mention that me, you, and YSSM are all Christian. Also, I have even more in common with you because we both are represented by some form of Luigi and are both homeschooled! (I was pretty surprised when I saw your Homeschooled userbox.)

  Ultimate Mr. L (Talk-Contribs-Stats) 09:57, 28 October 2016 (EDT)
Thanks! I copied the background text from a certain section of the Mario (franchise) article. That link leads to said section. The Goomba I'm about to stomp says, "Misspelling" and the one that YSSM is about to eat says, "Bad Grammar." What we're doing is editing an article, in case that wasn't obvious. The picture turned out really well, maybe even better than I expected. One thing about YSSM in the picture: I used File:BlueToadOnYoshi.png and   to make him by removing Toad from the first picture and putting the saddle of the second Yoshi onto the first, replacing Toad. This left the second Yoshi saddleless, so just for fun, I saved that Yoshi as a separate picture. I think I'll put the group picture on my userpage. About U Mr. L, perhaps he is a frenemy. But do Luigi 64DD and YSSM know his true goals?

Italicising

Hey! Just in case you genuinely didn't know: Game titles are always italicised with two apostrophes before and after the title. (e.g. Super Mario Maker)   Mario JC 21:45, 31 October 2016 (EDT)

I did know that. I must have absentmindedly forgotten. Sorry about that. Thanks for the reminder.
  Ultimate Mr. L (Talk-Contribs-Stats) 22:35, 31 October 2016 (EDT)

SMM

I was thinking that since there are enough of them, you and/or someone else can categorize all the levels of Super Mario Maker (Category:Super Mario Maker levels), which would have both SMM and SMMfN3DS levels that are made by Nintendo or basically all the levels in the course bot (19 worlds. They are the ones you're doing.) and the 100 levels made by Nintendo for 3DS version.   Yoshi the SSM (talk) 13:42, 1 November 2016 (EDT)

Might as well. There is a whole lot. Though I'm not really interested in SMM3DS. It's really a downgrade. The only reason I could see someone would get it is because they don't have a Wii U. I've already started writing articles for the SMM levels, so I could make a Category.
  Ultimate Mr. L (Talk-Contribs-Stats) 15:11, 1 November 2016 (EDT)
How do I create a Category? There's no help page or guidelines for new categories. I don't know how they work.
  Ultimate Mr. L (Talk-Contribs-Stats) 15:15, 1 November 2016 (EDT)
To create a category, type the category in the search box or on the wiki space like Category:Super Mario Maker Levels.

And Yeah, I guess I make a new category for N3DS version levels some time after Christmas and you can just do Wii U version. I was thinking that the two versions won't be that different in terms of gameplay so they would go nice together. It is your call, though. You are the one making all Wii U levels.   Yoshi the SSM (talk) 15:19, 1 November 2016 (EDT)

Well, I know how to create a new page. But are there specific guidelines for Categories?
  Ultimate Mr. L (Talk-Contribs-Stats) 15:22, 1 November 2016 (EDT)
This is the page that you need: MarioWiki:Categories.   Yoshi the SSM (talk) 15:40, 1 November 2016 (EDT)

Basically, when you add something to a category from another page, it will automatically update the page. The category just needs to be under Super Mario Maker Category and Levels Category. There should also be a description of the page. Just making sure that you know.   Yoshi the SSM (talk) 19:35, 1 November 2016 (EDT)

I have found the template that will be most relavant to the articles. It is Template:SMM levels. If you have a category in the template, the category will appear on the page the template is on. Thought this might be helpful.   Yoshi the SSM (talk) 01:03, 2 November 2016 (EDT)

Actually, just change the template for the SMM levels to the template suggested and don't worry about categorization of the template.   Yoshi the SSM (talk) 09:58, 2 November 2016 (EDT)

Categorization tip

Hi there, Ultimate Mr. L. When adding categories, just remember to use only the most specific. For example, when you place "Category:Super Mario Maker Levels", the categories "Super Mario Maker" and "Levels" are no longer necessary, and may be removed.

Thanks, and keep up the great work!

  Shokora (talk · edits) 20:06, 1 November 2016 (EDT)

OK, thanks. I should have thought of that. Sorry, but I've already made that mistake with a few levels. I'll be more careful in the future.
  Ultimate Mr. L (Talk-Contribs-Stats) 20:07, 1 November 2016 (EDT)
Not a problem at all.

RE: Warning Overturned

Wow, that took longer than I was expecting. I get the feeling I might be getting carried away with deploying warnings and what-not in general and not just you because two warnings I gave were overturned. I think Baby Luigi (talk) thinks so too. Anyways, uncategorized wasn't my idea but I was ready to support it after Porplemontage (talk) suggested it, the proprietor. I just did the rest. The reason I am so strict with categories on images is that several months ago, mostly L151 (talk) and I went through images tagged with game-screenshot and game-sprite that were missing such categories. There were many to go through. I think as high as 1,000. There are many more copyright tags to go through (character-artwork or game-cover for example), but we only got two of many categories done before we burned out. Our progress (note the one template I mentioned wasn't in the list but it is something that needs to be sorted through and are not limited to the five, as it could be all copyright tags). --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 15:08, 2 November 2016 (EDT)

RE:Hi

This is the correct site. I think if you just look up "paint.net" in Google search, the first option is a painting company :P

Click the download link at the top-right. At this point, it should say "paint.net 4.0.12". Follow the instructions given to you and check the necessary boxes and you should be fine :)

If you need any other help with the program, feel free to let me know.    11:39, 3 November 2016 (EDT)

Nice to see you're putting the program to good use, but be careful when adding transparency to pictures with light colors and be sure to edit the largest available version. Use the Tolerance bar at the top to help with deleting the white space.
   16:01, 3 November 2016 (EDT)
Actually, I'm not using paint.net. Whenever I'm ready to download a new software, I consult my dad, who always seems to find a better solution. We already had Adobe FireWorks and I learned how t do transparency on that.
  Ultimate Mr. L (Talk-Contribs-Stats) 16:11, 3 November 2016 (EDT)
Ah. Well, the tips should still be relevant :P    16:12, 3 November 2016 (EDT)

Forum Talk

Could you please not post forum talk on mainspace talk pages. If you're going to post something there, it must be related to improving the article in question. If you want to ask/talk about stuff like that. Make your way to the Mario Forums. The RPG Gamer (talk) (edits)   21:34, 3 November 2016 (EDT)

How was that forum talk? It didn't say on the article and I have reason to believe it doesn't and I thought that if it doesn't save it should be mentioned on the article.
  Ultimate Mr. L (Talk-Contribs-Stats) 21:48, 3 November 2016 (EDT)
If you don't know, ask a user who has the game (like me) or ask anybody on the forums but asking it on mainspace talk pages counts as forum talk and regarding your question about whether it saves or not, yes it does this is a main-series 3D Mario game not an RPG and even if it didn't it would fit better on the Super Mario Sunshine article. The RPG Gamer (talk) (edits)   01:46, 4 November 2016 (EDT)

Bowser Quote

Not only do you need discussion about it, you also need approval. People need to agree on the change of the quote. You can't just bring it up in the talk page and then just simply change it back. You need to have people agreeing with you (or maybe made a TPP). But don't go immediately changing it back like that because that's not what I meant in that summary so I will have to change it back. The RPG Gamer (talk) (edits)   14:54, 4 November 2016 (EDT)

Sorry. I should have double checked. I saw the conversation a while ago and thought it was decided. Still, don't we have guidelines for what quote to use? The Inside Story one doesn't really show much of his personality and is a little too long. But your probably right. I'll discuss it formally later, but right now I'm dealing with the new Giant Bowser article. Thanks.
  Ultimate Mr. L (Talk-Contribs-Stats) 14:59, 4 November 2016 (EDT)
Your welcome. The RPG Gamer (talk) (edits)   15:00, 4 November 2016 (EDT)

An article I created

Hello. I created Lightning Orb (object) and I was wondering if you could just take out very thing except for the orb and make it transparent. Make sure you have it under a different file name too. If you want to move it, just say something to me then move it then make sure all the links are saying the new name. But you don't have to. It is a lot.   Yoshi the SSM (talk) 19:27, 7 November 2016 (EST)

Sure, I'd be happy too. Speaking of created articles, have a look at Giant Bowser and leave a comment on the talk page. There's still the question as to what the article should cover.

Image Uploads Being Ridiculous In File Size

PNG Monstrous - Use that because I calculated for File:WigglerSM64DS.png to be 45,588 bytes (44.52 KB) at most (uncompressed state). It could be 60,784 bytes (59.36 KB) if we count transparency. The appropriate compression has already been done. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 14:53, 9 November 2016 (EST)

RE: Editing others' comments?

It was embarrassing for me to even consider that you did that because I mistook your edit to be editing a comment by A gossip-loving Toad (talk). Don't ask how, it just happened. I corrected myself immediately and hoped that it would just be buried and unquestioned by anyone monitoring Special:RecentChanges. You are in no trouble with that particular edit. The fault is entirely on me. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 18:45, 9 November 2016 (EST)

What makes it more embarrassing is that I made another faulty judgement call for Yes man (talk) in the same day and within minutes of my mistake towards you, and that user hasn't been uploading recently, as I already let him know months ago about his uploading activity could be an issue with maintenance. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 20:53, 9 November 2016 (EST)

Big Paint Stars

I intentionally kept the images in the same line as the text to cut down on the height of the table/rows. It looks better that way.--   21:58, 9 November 2016 (EST)

Am I good to change it back then?--   22:28, 9 November 2016 (EST)
Is this the way it looked for you? http://imgur.com/a/msPe6 --   22:38, 9 November 2016 (EST)
Alright, how does the page look now?--   22:51, 9 November 2016 (EST)
Yes I'm on a laptop, and I don't have a desktop computer. Would you be kind enough to post a screenshot to imgur for me?--   22:55, 9 November 2016 (EST)
I'm pretty sure I fixed it now!--   23:21, 9 November 2016 (EST)

Super Paper Mario Bestiary

You said here that you would make a bestiary on Super Paper Mario. Are you still going to do it? If not I would be more than happy to do so. :) The RPG Gamer (talk) (edits)   00:22, 11 November 2016 (EST)

The only thing I'm stuck on is the custom template that needs to be made for it. I'm not that advanced in coding yet. If you could just make SPM bestiary, that would be great. Then I can get to work on that much-needed bestiary.
  Ultimate Mr. L (Talk-Contribs-Stats) 10:30, 11 November 2016 (EST)
You think you need a template, but I am not seeing a template fit for what you are doing. I think you need to create a table instead.   Yoshi the SSM (talk) 12:25, 11 November 2016 (EST)
That's what I had in mind. The RPG Gamer (talk) (edits)   12:49, 11 November 2016 (EST)
The other bestiaries have their own template. Like this one.
  Ultimate Mr. L (Talk-Contribs-Stats) 13:58, 11 November 2016 (EST)
I was just thinking of doing it the easy way like all these bestiaries listed. If you don't want to do it, I could just get my sandbox ready and get the bestiary started myself. The RPG Gamer (talk) (edits)   14:05, 11 November 2016 (EST)
I could look more like Sticker Star's with the elements of the other two bestiaries. Speaking of which, Paper Mario: Color Splash will need a bestiary looking exactly like Sticker Star's exact different enemies but there could be someone planning on doing it after he is done with the levels.   Yoshi the SSM (talk) 14:13, 11 November 2016 (EST)
If all those bestiaries use normal tables, I guess we could do the same for SPM. It's kind of inconsistent, though, since Paper Mario and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door bestiaries got their own template. But a table would definitely be easier. Let's go with that for now. If RPG Gamer could get me started, like add one or two enemies and a legend for the stats, I can do the rest. I could use a big project. Things are slow at the Giant Bowser article right now. Speaking of which, have a look.
  Ultimate Mr. L (Talk-Contribs-Stats) 14:36, 11 November 2016 (EST)

Looks like I was able to create it first. It is Super Paper Mario Bestiary. This is something to get anyone started. Notes are for special things about enemies. What do you think? And if you need to find something, go to the article of the enemy and find the Super Paper Mario Enemy Template.   Yoshi the SSM (talk) 15:19, 11 November 2016 (EST)

Nice job! It looks a lot better than the M&L bestiaries, mostly due to the color. Just a reminder, you should add construction if you're just starting an article, as in this case.
  Ultimate Mr. L (Talk-Contribs-Stats) 15:56, 11 November 2016 (EST)
You can add it.   Yoshi the SSM (talk) 16:02, 11 November 2016 (EST)
The article is looking great so far. I have a question. Should there be a tattle included? I can help you out if so.   Yoshi the SSM (talk) 21:17, 11 November 2016 (EST)
Is it included in the other Paper Mario bestiaries? If so, yes. A Tattle should be included and possibly a Card Description, if PM:TTYD bestiary includes a Tattle Log.
  Ultimate Mr. L (Talk-Contribs-Stats) 23:02, 11 November 2016 (EST)
I just checked Template:PM2bestiary and it includes Tattle and Log. So we should include Tattle and Card Description. If you can add the sections, I can fill in the actual text.
P.S. The dark blue of the top of the tabel makes the black font hard to read. Is there away you could switch the color to white?
  Ultimate Mr. L (Talk-Contribs-Stats) 23:11, 11 November 2016 (EST)
I am questioning whether or not to include the card information per Once and Only Once Rule. What do you think? (List of Catch Cards)  Yoshi the SSM (talk) 23:16, 11 November 2016 (EST)
Say no more. That makes perfect sense. Just the Tattle then.
  Ultimate Mr. L (Talk-Contribs-Stats) 10:25, 12 November 2016 (EST)

Have you checked it out. I didn't remove the card locations info because I wanted you to see how the tattles would work.   Yoshi the SSM (talk) 11:15, 12 November 2016 (EST)

Looks good. I'll add the Tattles later.
