Image Errand
- I was hoping that you can do me a favor. I was trying to upload an image onto the Mario Wiki, but due to the issue of not being able to save new edits, the image got corrupted.
I was able to upload the image successfully after this incident was taken care of, but the file history section contains a lot of past uploads that I've done. All of them are pretty much corrupted, and I was hoping that you can delete the archived image revisions for me. After all, only Sysops can delete image revisions.
Here's the image that I was hoping that you would go to and delete ALL the past uploads for that file name.

- Yeah, I try to get on at least once a day too; I was sick the other week and took a couple days off, and I missed SO much! :o How have I been? Well, I applied to university, which is exciting; and I saved one of my lizards from drowning today! He had fallen into his water bowl, and though he managed to get his face out of the water, he was really cold, and I shudder to think what would have happened if I had decided to NOT go downstairs just then and do my math homework. I've tried having a Real Life life, but it stank; I still get together with friends and whatnot, but the social scene isn't my scene - I'd rather edit the MWiki. School's the reason I don't really post on the UP Forums - I just have time to check on the Sysop (and Crat) boards these days. Wow, you actually look at my Imidge of da Week? Awesome. This week's is pretty funny, I think.
Yep, the new Wario Land is very good. Definitely worth buying... if you have the money for it and are not saving up for something more awesome. (eg. DSi, or that new Mario and Luigi game...) So far I have done 100% of the levels, got 95% of the treasures, and done 85% of the Missions. I must 100% PWN this game to be satisfied.
Hey, I know that GBC game. I had the same game, but on GBA (never had a GBC). The GBA version sucked, it was all half-platformer, 5% RPG, 45% retarded. The GBC version was much better. Sadly, most game adaptations of movies (in this case, movies based on books) ... are crap. Because they make them as cash-ins (on every platform for that reason), not as good games to satisfy us gamers. I probably won't ever get Wi-Fi ;_;
That's... well, I found that a bit sad. You're very lucky to be the only one to get a present. And I feel guilty about worrying that I didn't get as much stuff this last year as previous Christmases, after hearing that your family got hardly anything. I'm glad it was relaxing for you. Relaxation is something I almost never experience.
The crazy fact book had a very similar layout to the Guinness Book of World Records. It's similar, but much more awesome.

I have a big problem with some of R.O.B. 128's recent activity, specifically soliciting a few of the apparently female members of the wiki for their photographs (check out his recent contribs). This could be considered a form of sexual harrasment, and I think we need to warn him that such behavior is unacceptable. You know my Chronic Fatigue Syndrome? Well, that's a bad version of relaxation. Today and yesterday while doing some very boing Pokemon training (keep fighting the same foe hundreds of times for EXP), I suddenly got... The Feeling. That's when I put the DS down and almost fall asleep for a while. Also, living in Australia... the heat is exhausting. On Tuesday it was 41 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of 27 at night. Ever get that hot where you are? And my house has no air-conditioning...

Well, I had insomnia from a very young age up until 12. It was cured over a few months by nightly listening to a hypnosis CD which uses "theta rhythm" in the background. I recommend hypnosis if you want to cure it... as I remember how much insomnia sucks.
Well, I don't know how you manage to stay awake in the day if you're up half the night, but it's up to you...

RE: Hooktail Castle
Yeah, I still feel like there is a lot to be said. Again, I feel like I am not learning anything about the castle. Here are some more specific recommendations:
Here's how I would order the article:
Intro first, of course. =P
Description section: this section would detail the physical features of the castle itself, including elements on the inside, kinda starting from the entrance. Rely on Goombella's tattles on the bottom of the page for inspiration; don't write like she does of course, but she does mention the castle's notable features. So what is the castle like? Well there is an exterior wall, then a moat and a drawbridge before actually reaching the castle, right? Goombella also says there is a garden, so maybe mention that as well. There are also a few dungeons, so mention that and the items in the dungeon (so move that info out of History into the Description section). She also mentions a great hall filled with many traps - briefly mention these traps (as they are likely covered in the walkthrough). There is also a treasure room - mention what is in the treasure room. Lastly mention Hooktail's lair at top of the final tower.
History section: this would explain the history of the castle, and does not need to be that long. Try to remove the speculation and just focus on what the game says, so people can decide for themselves (basically, get rid of that "it is unknown" stuff). Check out the Grifty article for some of the early history. There needs to be some backstory to the castle itslef, so the beginning would be something like this (feel free to adapt it if you want to; it's not very good but has a lot of the basics): "A thousand years before the events of PM:TTYD, the Shadow Queen emerged from the "dark beyond" and began a campaign of conquest across the world. WIth her armies, the Shadow Queen took over many lands and stole many valuable treasures from these countries, which she stored in her Palace of Shadow. The Shadow Queen created the Crystal Stars to contain the "essence of the heavens" in order to increase her already infathomable power. One Crystal Star was placed in each country to allow the Shadow Queen to exert her influence over the world. Hooktail Castle was built to hold one of these Crystal Stars, increasing the Shadow Queen's control over the Petal Meadows region.
Okay the next part gets tricky. Basically we need to describe how the Black Chest ended up in Hooktail Castle, as the chest is one of the heroes, I'm just not sure which one. Then we also need to describe how the Diamond Star ended up in the castle, if there is anything about that (did it simply end up in Hooktail's belly? - is there anything about that anywhere).
But after all that is covered, you can say something like: "Hooktail, one of the Shadow Queen's three dragon pets, eventually came to reside in the castle, possibly during the Shadow Queen's reign. She would use this castle as a base of operations for terrorizing the people of Petal Meadows and Petalburg for many years, perhaps even centruies. A few Petalburgers, inculding Koopley, have attempted to brave the castle and challenege Hooktail in order to stop her reign of terror. However, none have ever returned to Petalburg, presumably ending up as the Dull Bones strewn across the castle. That is, until Mario of the Mushroom Kingdom traveled to Petalburg in search of the Crystal Star in the region. He teamed up with Koopley's son Koops to brave the castle and challenge Hooktail in combat." This would leave off right before the next section, Walkthrough.
So essentially, the History section should have three paragraphs: Shadow Queen and the creation of the castle, the end of her reign and the scattering of the Crystal Stars (i.e. how did the Black Chest and Diamond Star get in Hooktail Castle), followed by Hooktail's reign of terror over the Petal Meadows region. -- Son of Suns (talk)
And the Description section really only needs to be like one solid paragraph. Some of the sentences could essentially be: Here's a notable room, and here's the notable stuff in it. But do what you gotta do. -- Son of Suns (talk)

Just a quick thing:
I was examining the list of Help pages again to find others needing improvement, and noticed that the link titled "What you shouldn't do in an article" links to the BJAODN. To me, that seems kinda weird and not helpful. IMO, the BJAODN is not at all an educational system to show what not to do (it's more likely to encourage people to create nonsense...), as I was expecting the link to be to a Help article, not a page of comedy.
So I ask you this: Should I start an actual Help page with actual info about what not to in an article. I'll only be able to start it, as I'm not good at writing from scratch, I prefer editing existing stuff.
It seems your insomnia is affecting you again... trust me, I know how much it sucks.

WTF did my whole Proposal get removed? It took me a long time to write all that worthless crap :(. I created the Proposal because, after asking RAP what I should do (because I didn't want to bother you again, after the previous message), but he said he was busy and so ignored it. Then I did all that for nothing.
I hate this Proposal system. My previous one failed, and now this one barely even lived to the age of 1 second. And there is no message on my talk page informing me why it was deleted. Really helpful.
I know you didn't remove it, I'm just telling you because you're the only sympathetic and understanding user here...

- My mistake was that I took Son of Sun's oppose personally rather than based on our mutual concern for the well being of the Wiki. Granted, I still hold that the images were of high enough quality and don't quite agree that someone who played a relatively small role in the article (compared to you and I) should be allowed to hold it back from being featured over images, but what I should have realized from the get-go is that the images only would become an issue when the other issues he mentioned were dealt with. Speaking of, we do need to look in at image resolution and how it relates to fair use... I'm pretty sure some of our images are waaaay to big to be completely legal (not saying that blurry little images are all that we can include, of course). :) Anyway, hopefully this hatchet can be torched, buried, and then nuked, and hopefully we won't see a precedent about images and FAs get set over this. Thanks for the compliment, Stooben, if it weren't for people like you voicing that you like the diplomatic side of me, I wouldn't have backed down. I was packed for bear!! :3 Stumpers!

I'm gonna curb this convo for a lil bit. Haha. Yes Stumpers, it's nothing personal. That's why I have no hard feelings. Now, the templates on most of our images, including screenshots, says "web-resolution" screenshots, as opposed to "low-resolution." Web-resolution would imply any resolution that can be displayed on the web, which isn't perfect. So any image that can be displayed on the web should be fair game, especially because using such images "does not significantly impede the right of the copyright holder to sell the copyrighted material," regardless of the resolution. In fact, it would be fair to say that a better wiki (complete with images) indeed boosts the profits of the copyright holder (Nintendo), as I know I have purchased games in order to work on the wiki. -- Son of Suns (talk)
Actually, the only real thing we need to take care of is making sure we aren't reproducing whole comics or other visual print media. We should probably only be using one page, if not only one panel to provide an image for subjects. Uploading images of comics starts to infringe on Nintendo's copyrights, as people will no longer buy the comics because they can view them here for free. -- Son of Suns (talk)

But I am fairly certain we aren't breaking any copyright laws, as most of our images (regardless of subjective terms like "high" or "low quality") are being used to illustrate a subject, and does not interfere with Nintendo's ability to sell their various products. Just as MKDD needed a hand to add more info to the article, I'm on a mission to expand some racecourses' articles, because they remained abandoned for long time (to submit more info, of course). Ma' first action is to contribute intensively the Mario Circuit article, and looks very good nao, containing detailed info about every course's characteristics and layouts. I hope you liek it :D

I am fine but, I am trying to make 6000 edits also I watch over the wiki at night, to you know to undo any bad things or bad edits, but are you getting any more rest at night. Mario5x (talk)
Yeah I just think the wiki is great, I mean I was never the same when I found the wiki there has been good times and bad times too but I help new users just like some of the sysops and a bureaucrat has helped me you know when I was new to the wiki it was difficult to think of what to put on my user page and all, of all the wikis I have been this one is the only one I like the other wikis which is 3 in total the 1 I have quit because I did not like it, the 2 wiki is Userpedia I really dont go there to much, in Userpedia I am known as 2v2v2 my old username here and there 10%, and the 3 wiki which is this one I am 90% in this wiki but in March its going to go down to 50% to 60%. YOSHI! Oh, sorry about that. Anyways, I got the original version now and it's great! I used to spend most of my time on that playing that game. It's really cool. It's also proving to be quite easy. - Archiving: Click the 'move' tab at the top of your talk page, and then type in "User Talk:Super mario fan/Archive 1" or whatever.
- Programming languages? Well, I'm pretty fluent in HTML, if that's what you're referring to. If you mean real life languages, I know a little bit of Spanish, Japanese, German, French, Italian, Greek, and Chinese. Just enough to get by tho.
