Something wrong on the Forums

Today I got a message from someone on the forums and in the message box under the logo it says My Messages [1] and I replied to it already, it keeps saying I have a new message and there is none. The My Messages [1] won't ever change. I don't know what is wrong, can you help me? YoshiGo99

Dynamic Page Lists

They are gone.
Now since you've deleted (or was it because or MediaWiki uppdate?) some articles, including MarioWiki pages are now left with "Invalid tag extension name: dpl". Examples: Super Mario World (television series), MarioWiki:Personal Check/Personal Images. I hope you'll reinstall it. SWFlash

Thumbnails

It seems the thumbnail for some of the large images (ex: this and one of the revision of this) does not display correctly. Mind investigating that? --Glowsquid 13:40, 20 August 2011 (EDT)

I decided to revert back to using the MediaWiki default maximum image area for creating thumbnails: 12.5 million pixels or about 3500x3500. Reasoning is that this puts less of a strain on the server, and it's not like we're using images anywhere near this size on the actual article pages. Well, I started picking up wikis with the formation of NIWA and wikis jumping ship from Wikia (as you know). Minor question.

Did you updated the wiki? Looks like the parameter cellspacing of the tables isn't working (unfortunately, that's the only error I've seen for now) and the galleries are no longer centered... do we have to center the galleries manually? Another question: why the collapsible boxes of my userpage doen't work? well, they do work only when I log in but not if I log out... is it posible to fix that? ¢oincoll€ctor

I don't know why cellspacing wouldn't be working now; maybe you could link me to an example on that? The galleries would need the center tag to be centered, see Gallery:Super Mario Galaxy 2 vs. Gallery:Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. I couldn't explain a given topic better than the help pages already do. Click on your username, add text, and save. View the source of other userpages for an idea of how to do stuff like userbox towers. You need to buy a domain name, acquire web hosting, and install MediaWiki. Google search those three things and you'll have more than enough info to get started. Once your wiki has been around for a while with a healthy set of editors, you may apply to NIWA. Since this wiki covers Yoshi, I will have the final say on whether you may join. Maintenance Issue

• Sorry to bother you, but there's a problem that I found while checking the list of double redirects. I saw that the 8-bit Club redirects to 8 bits, which redirects to 8 Bits, but for some reason, whenever I try to fix up the 8-bit Club redirect, the wiki acts like that article doesn't exist. Preview thumbnail images

They are about 20 KB each on that page. I hope you don't accidentally click on the 5.44MB image, since it's equivalent to 278 of those 20KB thumbnails. You visit more image pages than anyone else. It's not something a general user would need. We have a small percentage of users who visit a ton of image pages time a small percentage of users who even have to worry about bandwidth times the fact that the thumbs are small to begin with. And you better use them to compare images since if you click on an image you're throwing any bandwidth savings from hiding the thumbnails out the window. --Steve (talk) 06:21, 30 October 2011 (EDT)

Template:Foreignname

Hello Porplemontage. Nintendo of Europe confirmed Mario Kart 7 will get a Dutch, Portuguese and Russian translation. These three languages need to be put in the Template:Foreignname. Dutch and Portuguese are already in the template, but Russian isn't. Because you protected the page it's impossible for me to edit it (I'm a patroller). Could you please add Russian to the template? Could you also change the order, so Portuguese comes behind Italian and Russian behind Portuguese? Thank you.

Okay, so I wanted to give Cream an infobox like everyone else has. You know, like Full Name: Cream the Rabbit
First Appearance: Sonic Advanced 2 (GBA) And that kind of stuff, but she has two pics on her page and I don't know where I'm supposed to put the one I'm not using as her Infobox image. Sandbox problem

Hey, Steve!

I have more than two problems with the auto-censors on the forums.

1. I can't find where to turn them off. 2. They won't let me talk about Cofagrigus, a Pokemon from the new game.

I checked the settings and nothing about the censor showed up. So how do I change the settings of the censors? Good Magikrazy (talk)

Thumbnail images in lists...part 2.

Hi Steve/Porplemontage, remembered I asked you the last time if there was a way to disable viewing/seeing thumbnail images whenever I go into file pages, and you provided me coding for my monobook? I really appreciated that nod, leaving me to do my productivity faster (without having my browser lagging from the brief image loading...it's minor, but very irritating when I try working very fast); now I'm asking you again. Recently, it seems you guys have updated your wiki, and when I went to Special:ListFiles, there are thumbnail images - is there any code that would disable viewing thumbnail images from those special pages? It hampers my work just as the same as the previous one I told you. The main difference is that you have to scroll down longer to scan for stuff, even with Ctrl+F. I don't have any links. The best thing you can do is inspect the page and play around with the CSS using those dev tools. That's all I did to get the name of that "TablePager_col_thumb" class. Then try-out the CSS in those tools and you can mess around without actually making any changes. --Steve (talk) 04:40, 19 February 2012 (EST)

If I'm not entirely incorrect here, you are the only one here who can actually edit Special pages, am I correct?

What I'm mainly asking you to do here is to update the Special:WebChat page because it has some outdated information pertaining to whom specific chats belong to.

Information that is incorrect

• #paperchat isn't Paper Jorge (talk)'s anymore, because SonicMario (talk) owns it nowadays.
• #userpedia's founder is Super Mario Bros. (talk), not Marioguy1 (talk).
• Last time I checked with ChanServ, Super Mario Bros. (talk) is now the owner of #mwshroom.

Ads

When viewing the site on a tablet an advertisement pop-up opens on a background tab, and creates an annoying message on top of the screen, can you do something about that? Pop-ups in general are annoying, by the way. Lakituthequick 16:57, 16 March 2012 (EDT)

Yeah, the pop-up is part of our current advertising strategy. Guests get one and then are free from it for 12 hours. I'm going to try something else without it, but the guaranteed way to avoid it would be to login on the tablet if that's an option for you. --Steve (talk) 18:35, 16 March 2012 (EDT)
