QuotesEdit

Please note that adding made-up quotes is not allowed, as I've noticed some of the ones you added, like the one without Luigi uttering "Idiots!", were questionable. If they are in fact true and I've missed something, can you link me a source? And if you can, please specify where in the game you meant by "(after she heard Toad notice something)" and "(before a big explosion transforming in to a dazzling clear pipe)" (If you're referring to the intro, I don't believe she said anything).   Mario JC 21:13, 29 March 2017 (EDT)

To add to this, quote changes (especially those for major characters like Mario) should be discussed on their talk pages.    17:04, 13 June 2018 (EDT)

Mario quoteEdit

You should have a discussion before changing the quote. Thanks.   Yoshi Egg 1990   17:03, 13 June 2018 (EDT)

Minor editsEdit

Please don't mark medium-to-large edits like adding quotes (especially this) as minor edits. Only small edits like spelling or coding fixes should be marked as minor, not every single edit made.   Mario JC 22:52, 13 June 2018 (EDT)

Please stop marking non-minor edits as minor on the Super Mario Wiki. This isn't a warning, and it's possible that you made a mistake by accident or without realizing it; this is simply a reminder for your information. If the action continues, then a warning will be issued. Thanks for reading and keep contributing.
If you feel this reminder was undeserved, you may appeal it.

You don't need to check the box for every substantial mainspace edit. Please only reserve this for minor edits, as explained here (also linked above). In addition, there's no need to add a quote to every page. A quote should be added if it's important enough (like a catchphrase, or an explanation by the developer); simply adding a line solely because it's associated with the subject just makes it look out of place.   Mario JC 23:15, 22 June 2018 (EDT)

File:DKRap.ogaEdit

Per policy, we must add audio files to 30 seconds. --  FanOfYoshi 03:08, July 6, 2019 (EDT)

Quote referenceEdit

Saying "I have a bad feeling about this" is common everywhere. It's not a reference to Star Wars; please stop adding this back in.   Mario JC 23:51, January 14, 2020 (EST)

Bowser artEdit

Hello, may I ask what's the source of File:MSOGT Bowser.png?

  Shokora (talk · edits) 19:13, September 15, 2020 (EDT)

I would say his artwork's from the Nintendo Character Style Quiz.

NoahAlexanderJohnson101 (talk) 19:32, September 15, 2020 (EDT)

Thanks. Could you link to where you got it from?
  Shokora (talk · edits) 20:31, September 15, 2020 (EDT)

I think I got that from a Fandom wiki: Hello Yoshi

NoahAlexanderJohnson101 (talk) 20:40, September 25, 2020 (EDT)

Tying back to this, please don't get your images from fan wikis like this, as they may be fan-edited.   Mario JC 21:49, February 7, 2021 (EST)

RemindersEdit

Hello, NoahAlexanderJohnson101. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly use the {{aboutfile}} template. What you were doing looks like this, and it is an inconvenience for other users to fix up the template. It is simple to learn how to format it correctly. The pre-loaded coding is shown below.

{{aboutfile
|1=Subject of the image
|2=Where you found the image
|3=Artist
|4=Describe edits, if any
|5=Other versions (use file link)
}}

Just replace the necessary parts with that corresponding information, and remove the entire line of the variable(s) you don't use. If you do not wish to use the template at all, then it is acceptable to simply remove it before you upload the file. Please consider the above information before uploading more files. If you continue using {{aboutfile}} incorrectly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing.

Hello, NoahAlexanderJohnson101. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly categorize the file. It's simple to learn how to do so. Just search for the correct category by starting with the following groups:

Images Audio/video files

When uploading, copy the full title of the category and insert it in square brackets into the summary text box below the {{aboutfile}} template, replacing the {{uncategorized}} template entirely. If you're using the upload function from the text editor, simply add the category link to the description. For example, files related to the game Super Mario World would use:

[[Category:Super Mario World images]]
or
[[Category:Super Mario World media files]]

Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Keep in mind that some files can belong to multiple categories. Do not put images into the media files category, or vice versa. If you continue uploading files without categorizing them correctly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing.

Voice clipsEdit

Hello, NoahAlexanderJohnson101. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must apply the proper license. A full list of licenses can be found in the file copyright tags category, but the following are the most common:

  • {{photo}} - Used for photographs of real-life subjects.
  • {{art}} - Used for artwork of something that is not a character.
  • {{comic-scene}} - Used for scans of a comic.
  • {{comic-cover}} - Used for covers of comic books.
  • {{tv-screenshot}} - Used for screenshots of television shows.
  • {{film-screenshot}} - Used for screenshots of movies.
  • {{video-screenshot}} - Used for other screenshots, such as those from YouTube.

When uploading, select the license from the drop-down box below the summary text box, or add the license manually after uploading or if you're using the upload function from the text editor. For example, artwork of Mario would use {{character-artwork}}.

Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Don't include multiple copyright templates; choose the one that you feel best fits the file. If you continue uploading files without applying the correct license, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing.

Also, audio files should be .oga, not .ogg. You can do this by simply changing the extension when you upload.   Mario JC 19:13, January 22, 2021 (EST)

Additionally, you are putting the files in the wrong location. They should be in a media gallery, not just thrown onto the page somewhere.    21:15, January 22, 2021 (EST)

I just thought we might add voice clips to quotes, not only have a media gallery. NoahAlexanderJohnson101 (talk) 21:17, January 22, 2021 (EST)

They don't fit there, they look incredibly awkward and out of place. Take a look at Cranky_Kong#Theme for example on how we set up media files.
Additionally, if you find your edit has been reverted, contact the reverter first instead of just adding your change back.    21:20, January 22, 2021 (EST)
Another problem I find with that is that it won't seem too consistent with other articles. The top quotes most characters use are not voice-recorded and are only shown in text-boxes. My point is most articles wouldn't be able to have that anyway, and those that do would just seem quite odd.   Nightwicked Bowser

This is a warning to stop your inappropriate behavior (failing to fill file information as described above) on the Super Mario Wiki. Please adhere to the rules or you will be blocked from editing this site.
If you feel this warning was undeserved, you may appeal it.

You are continuing to not fill in the file information. It's okay to upload first and then edit the file, but you're not even doing that. Please take better care with your files.    18:06, January 26, 2021 (EST)

A few of your uploads just recently were still missing categories, and please remember to mark the .ogg for deletion after you move it. Even if the voice clip is heard throughout multiple games, you still need the category for the first game it was used in. It's better if you just add the details in as you upload so you don't forget later.   Mario JC 22:39, January 26, 2021 (EST)

You're still missing categories in your media uploads like [[Category:Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze Media Files]], and still unnecessarily capitalising headers ("Voice Samples", which should be "Voice samples") after past reminders already. Please remember these or another block may be issued.   Mario JC 22:22, June 17, 2021 (EDT)

"Quotes"Edit

Per this proposal, exclamations like this are not quotes, please do not list those.   Mario JC 20:01, January 23, 2021 (EST)

Moving FilesEdit

Remember to mark the original name of files you move with {{delete}} so admins can notice them easier.    13:38, January 25, 2021 (EST)

Walt Disney voicesEdit

You can't simply make a statement like this without sourcing it; please provide one, otherwise it's getting reverted.

Also, avoid capitalising words that aren't proper nouns like "samples" and "panicking".   Mario JC 23:00, January 27, 2021 (EST)

You're still doing this; don't capitalise a word if it's not a proper noun or the first word of a sentence.   Mario JC 20:09, February 1, 2021 (EST)

Please stop capitalising non-proper nouns on the Super Mario Wiki. This isn't a warning, and it's possible that you made a mistake by accident or without realizing it; this is simply a reminder for your information. If the action continues, then a warning will be issued. Thanks for reading and keep contributing.
If you feel this reminder was undeserved, you may appeal it.

Stop capitalising "samples" in headings or anything that's not a proper noun. I've notified you twice about this already.   Mario JC 23:09, February 8, 2021 (EST)

This shouldn't be difficult to follow.

Also, don't add content on upcoming content without at least providing a source.   Mario JC 23:39, February 10, 2021 (EST)

Article talk pagesEdit

For future reference, talk pages are only for discussing what to do with the article itself. Discussion like what you think an actor's best work is is not allowed. Keyblade Master (talk) 13:47, January 31, 2021 (EST)

Mario quoteEdit

See this video and its source before changing it back. Regardless of what it might sound like, this is the actual quote.   Mario JC 00:46, February 6, 2021 (EST)

Boom BoomEdit

I've already notified you of this image being fan-made and to not get images from fan wikis. If something you uploaded was removed (for reasons already provided) that does not mean you simply upload it again. This goes for all edits in general; if you see your content getting removed, do not simply add it back in without at least discussing or asking the user. This is a final informal reminder. If such problematic edits keep up, a formal last warning may need to be issued.   Mario JC 20:02, February 13, 2021 (EST)

Your recent uploadsEdit

Hi. Several of your recent uploads were discovered to be fanmade images and were deleted. In the future, please be more careful to ensure that the content you upload is official. --  Too Bad! Waluigi Time! 19:25, February 15, 2021 (EST)

I would suggest you don't take these images from sites like reddit or deviantart, or even straight out of google images. I'm pretty sure most editors here get these images from official websites maintained by Nintendo.   Nightwicked Bowser   19:31, February 15, 2021 (EST)

By the way, what's your source for this image? --  Too Bad! Waluigi Time! 20:53, February 15, 2021 (EST)

I think it's from the box artwork of the 3ds remake of the game. NoahAlexanderJohnson101 (talk) 15:32, February 16, 2021 (EST)

He means where did you get that image from? And don't remove warnings.   Nightwicked Bowser   15:40, February 16, 2021 (EST)

Right, it may be from Deviantart, but it's not fanmade art or fanmade renders.NoahAlexanderJohnson101 (talk) 15:56, February 16, 2021 (EST)

You need to link your source of where you got the render. We would appreciate it if you linked the source, because deviantart is a questionable source in terms of official content.   Ray Trace(T|C) 15:57, February 16, 2021 (EST)

This is your last warning. The next time you break the rules in any way, you will be blocked from editing the Super Mario Wiki.
If you feel this last warning was undeserved, you may appeal it.

No, we shouldn't have had to repeat ourselves. You were already notified twice for this, and you uploaded five of them. You've already accumulated multiple warnings for other issues and that should have been a sign to take your messages seriously. Please check your sources properly and stop uploading images taken from unofficial sources. From this point on, you should list your sources on the file page.   Mario JC 21:43, February 15, 2021 (EST)

This has happened again with your SMB Peach artwork, which was taken from Twitter. The content of the Tweet mentioned that it was the artist drawing each character in the style of their original appearance, meaning it is unofficial. Scrooge200 (talk)   20:00, December 27, 2021 (EST)
