Hello, MatiasNTRM. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly categorize the file. It's simple to learn how to do so. Just search for the correct category by starting with the following groups:

Images Audio/video files

When uploading, copy the full title of the category and insert it in square brackets into the summary text box below the aboutfile template, replacing the uncategorized template entirely. If you're using the upload function from the text editor, simply add the category link to the description. For example, files related to the game Super Mario World would use:

or

Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Keep in mind that some files can belong to multiple categories. Do not put images into the media files category, or vice versa. If you continue uploading files without categorizing them correctly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing.

Hello! When uploading images, please remember to always categorize the image with a game category such as . Thanks! --A sprite of a Flame Chomp from New Super Mario Bros. Wii.TheFlameChomp (talk) 18:42, 29 January 2018 (EST)

Regarding media files, sound files should be uploaded using the .oga extension and video files should be .ogv, as per policy. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 18:45, 3 February 2018 (EST)
Warning.svg
This is a warning to stop your inappropriate behavior (Continuing to forget to properly categorize images) on the Super Mario Wiki. Please adhere to the rules or you will be blocked from editing this site.
If you feel this warning was undeserved, you may appeal it.

You have forgot to categorize your latest upload. Please remember the above reminders. Thanks. Doomhiker (talk)Artwork of a Topmini from Super Mario Galaxy 16:41, 23 March 2018 (EST)

Italics

Hello! When writing game titles, please always remember to italicize them by adding two apostrophes on either side of the title. For example, Super Mario Odyssey would become Super Mario Odyssey. Thanks! --A sprite of a Flame Chomp from New Super Mario Bros. Wii.TheFlameChomp (talk) 15:15, 15 February 2018 (EST)

Proposal

Hello! When a proposal such as this one is going on, please do not enforce the changes before it passes, like you did here and here, as it is a level two offense, and can lead to a warning if it continues. Thanks! --A sprite of a Flame Chomp from New Super Mario Bros. Wii.TheFlameChomp (talk) 14:02, 14 April 2018 (EDT)

Mario Odyssey Renders

Hello there. Would it be possible for you to reupload the rest of my Super Mario Odyssey renders to look like the ones you uploaded? I'd very much appreciate it. --MarioKartDoubleDash (talk) 14:23, 29 April 2018 (EDT)

Make sure you don't upload any image that's already been uploaded, like I think you did with Klepto. Might have been someone else, but I think it was you. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 15:23, 29 April 2018 (EDT)
Hey, can you please revert the Maw-Ray thing and upload the sideways one separately? The current locations of the image are preferable to have a relatively front-facing version, as the side view messes up table parameters a bit. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 16:57, 29 April 2018 (EDT)

Image categories

Hi, when uploading images, don't just put them in the game's category, ie Category:Super Smash Bros. Ultimate; instead, put them in the appropriate subcategory, ie Category:Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Images. Thanks for your hard work! Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 17:25, 16 June 2018 (EDT)

File:SMM2Ten Gold coin SMB3.png

Hello, can I ask where you got this from? As far as I'm aware, sprites for the game haven't been released yet, so if this is a fan-made sprite (even if it's pixel-perfect, it would still be an unofficial recreation), I'm afraid it will need to be reverted to the previous version. The file has been reverted, however please do not add unofficial files in the future even if they are pixel-perfect, and once the game is released a rip of the in-game sprite can be used, however your spite cannot be used due to being unofficial. SMM NSMBU

The spites you're uploading are not accurate to the in-game appearances, due to the fact that they lack the environmental shading. That's what the rainbow things on TSR are about. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 17:27, March 30, 2019 (EDT)

It's an in-engine thing, though you might want to ask RandomTalkingBush if there's a way to replicate it. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 22:32, March 30, 2019 (EDT)
You're doing it again.... Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 18:25, May 17, 2019 (EDT)

In-game artwork renders

Those should still probably go under sprite sections, because they are still extracted from games themselves. I'd appreciate it if you moved the DMW things you posted in artwork sections to the respective graphics sections. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 21:31, July 11, 2019 (EDT)

Re: New Super Mario Bros. Bumper sprite

Thanks for the question. I asked an acquaintance with New Super Mario Bros. hacking experience to rip the sprite. The image I uploaded is taken directly from the game files, and from context, I assume there's no alpha map.

Said acquaintance doesn't know how the transparency is handled, and guessed that the model is drawn at half opacity. However, I opened the sprite and the underwater background in an image editor and adjusted the transparency, and the results always looked off in hue.

I can't back this up with technical knowledge, but I speculate that the Bumpers are drawn using a blend mode, since the darker red symbol appears much more transparent and bluish while the white highlights seem opaque and closer to their original color. OGA

Now I know it's been awhile since someone told you but you really should upload audio files as OGA instead of OGG. I go into detail on my FAQ, as seen here, but you can directly change the extension to OGA without problems on the upload page. Thanks! Trig - 09:12, March 16, 2020 (EDT)
