Naming
I'm not sure. We had an issue with Mario Strikers Charged and whether to name it where it came out first, the PAL area, as Mario Strikers Charged Football, but eventually after seeing viewership statistics (US totaled over 90% of our page views), we decided to keep with the US name. On one side you could say that we should keep to English tradition for titling to keep with the precedent, on another the original German should stay as is. Wa

I saw the names that you put on there, and read them. To be honest with you, those are just names. Most of them really don't have meanings. It's no different in English; What does Popple mean? Dunno. But I will tell you, that バナナ星人 translates to... well, it means "Someone from the Star 'Banana'", but I don't know how to put that in simple words. Kinda like Martian, but rather from the Banana Planet. Maybe "Banana Planet Resident", or something. It's hard to come up with a direct translation that fits... which is probably why they named him Xananab in the US. I hope I was at least of a little help. Marcelagus (T • C • E)
- About the hoshihito thing, it's fine. I see where you got it from. It's just that characters all have different ways to read them. Also, I tried to translate Bonehead, but couldn't think of the right word for "Yasha". Thanks for finding the right word. So, I guess it would translate to "Skeleton Night Spirit" or something along those lines. As for Sal Out, I don't know. やすこ☆ライト doesn't read "Nao Kimori", for one thing. It would read either "Yasuko Right" or "Yasuko Light". R and L sounds are the same in Japanese, so I'm not sure. "Kashu" means singer, by the way. But I did notice "Nao Komori" in the Twisted! cast of the site you gave me. Maybe they're two different people in the Japanese series. I really have no idea. Actually, it says "Idol Nao Komori". - "Roughly 'Skeleton Night Spirit'" seems good to me. And about the singers thing; Well, there's obviously a contradiction or something going on in there, with the Japanese and the American games. Well, I tried looking for an image of Nao Komori from Twisted, and compared it to Sal Out in twisted. They turn out to be the same. So that part's cleared. Compare:
- So Komori is Sal out, and the translation on the page is correct. Are there any other questions unanswered? This whole which-character-is-who-in-which-game-in-what-country thing is confusing the crap out of me. :P Marcelagus (T • C • E)
- The name "Sal Out" wasn't used in twisted? Man, I'm sorry, but I really don't know what to say. Maybe you should mention it in the article, or something. Also, about Cackletta, I have no idea where Kikimona came from, but just replace it. I notice you add foreign language names of characters and other things to heaps of articles - good work. Do you simply play the games in other languages and look out for the different names? Or do you research to find out?

I can't think of anything that "Merufuru" might be referring to, or even a pun. I might find out something after playing the game, though. It might have something to do with her character or the way she acts. Actually, I don't know if this is related, but "Furu" means "Shake" in Japanese, so there might be a connection there. And, as for which english name for Merufuru is correct, I have no clue. I think I might not be understanding the question correctly... Also, regarding the Wario comics, there has not been anything about the Warioware series yet. But there's only two books out so far, so maybe they'll come out later. Or maybe the author will stick with the platformers. At this point, there has been nothing about the Warioware series in either comic. I hope that helped, somewhat. - Yeah, the English name probably is based off of "Emerald". But I doubt the Japanese is, because Emerald in Japanese is エメラルド "Emerarudo", so it should be "Mera", not "Meru". Besides, two characters isn't really enough to decide if there's a connection. But I guess Furu is a reference to Shake. Marcelagus (T • C • E)
”げそ”(Geso) means squid legs in Japanese. So, "Gessoh" is definitely a pun on that. "ヘイホー"(Heihoh), I think is probably just a play on "Hey, Ho!" I have no idea about the Chuckolator, as I only have the english version of the game. I'm sure either "Gerane" or "Conty" is reffering to the Chuckola plant, or so it's called in english. As for Nekkoro, "Ne(根)" means "Root" in Japanese, and is a reference to that, no doubt. "Coro" is probably representing their smallness. Marcelagus (T • C • E)
- There's really only one that I'm sure about for the name origin; シニガミダス. "Shinigami" in Japanese literally means "Death God", and is sometimes represented as the Grim Reaper. And I really don't know about the other two names. I hope that helped. Marcelagus (T • C • E)
I am more than glad to help! First off with the house, because it's shorter: The name of the house, literally means, "Cute House". My translation of the descrpition would be:
"The dwelling place of the self-acclaimed Sexy Dynamite Monster. It's Sexy Pheromone is so strong, the house is located on a remote place on the island."
"Sexy Dynamite Monster"... lol. Anyway, here's my translation of the Birdo descrption, although the word "モテモテ" is sort of a hard word to translate, so I just said "attractive":
"The self-acclaimed Sexy Dynamite Monster. She came to the island with hopes to become attractive. Apparently, the Sexy Pheromone, which is said to kill a soul instantly, is released somewhere near its butt."
