It is undeserved as his edit count shows he edits mainspace more, and his edits to the signature are scattered enough to not be an issue. He does tend to edit his userspace a lot, but it really becomes a problem if it's consistent and/or his focus (i.e. more edits to userspace than mainspace). 21:23, 4 December 2017 (EST)

I was wondering if Super Mario Odyssey official was called music in game, and if so than why do you think Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions music should be listed as media (as it is called "MUSIC" when accessing it). And do you think we should add a media template to List of Super Mario Odyssey music page (no matter what's decided)? Also, I am contacting the user that made the page. Yeah, but I don't exactly understand why he reversed it still. He said that the remake's song names are what are supposed to be put in the boxes, but why can't I put in the original's song names as well? After all, it might as well be called "List of Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga music"; either way, I want to put in the original names in the boxes too, and I don't get what the problem is with that. A List of Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga media page would probably work better for the original tracks. If the remakes song names are what's in the game, then that's what should be used for the Bowser's Minions page. 22:21, 12 December 2017 (EST)

Honestly not sure. But again, if the name in the remake is different than the original, the remake's name is used because that's what the page is based on. With the original tracks a part of the game, once they're uploaded, a track list for the original game can be discussed. 22:30, 12 December 2017 (EST)

The only difference (in terms of in-game names) for the same song in the original and the remake is an added DX with the exception of two songs: "To Challenge!" to "Let's Kick it into High Gear" and "It's My Turn" to "Star 'Stache Smash!". There are more differences between the songs, but you know they are the same song. In terms of what they were once called, hey songs change names even in the same series. I know there are a few songs in Paper Jam that uses the same music from Dream Team. And the song "Let's Go (DX)" in the game is named "Come On!" in Paper Jam. But still, why are we only focusing on the remake names and not the original names as well? I'm not asking for one or the other, I am asking for both of the names. Why can't we have both of them? Or how about this, why didn't we have a "List of Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga music" article in the first place for both the original and remake names? That is the question I am asking, why are we all of a sudden focused on the remake without paying any attention to the original? Let me guess, you just answered my question for me. One, it is in-game names in the remake. Two, using the remake in the name is necessary due to it being only in the remake and having songs of the remake. Three, I guess they could have alternate names so long as they are officially known. If not, then don't add it. However, since the remake songs are lower on the page, don't do it like you did, but, instead, mention the alternative names like (this was originally called "Come On!") for Let's Go. But, don't do it to the remake songs as they don't have previous names. This can't be done if a Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga media page is created. Aside from the Mario & Luigi series (where he and Mario talk in gibberish) and the Fortune Street series (where he and Mario talk in full sentences), Luigi is more talkative than Mario in just about every game they both appear in and where they talk. Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 has Luigi talking to Mario (and himself), he's very talkative in Luigi's Mansion (as can be seen with the Game Boy Horror, though barely anything in Dark Moon). No one talks much in sports games, but overall, Luigi is much more talkative than Mario is. 21:39, 14 December 2017 (EST)

RE: Thanks

HDMI is better than analog interfaces (such as RCA cables) because it is digital, so no artifacts. Keep in mind that Retron consoles are reverse engineered counterparts of the official console it is based on, so mistakes could occur at runtime that would otherwise not happen on official hardware. This will likely not happen with popular titles because they are so commonly tested but more obscure titles could showcase a bug with the console. I still hope one day you are able to solve your emulator problems. 3DS, there is an emulator, but it is not worth looking into. Many graphical glitches and some games refuse to boot. Same goes for the Wii U emulator as well. It also has a steep PC requirements. However, how I submitted my screenshots for 3DS, homebrew, not emulators. Anything analog, there is some degradation. Star colors

Are you sure? It can't be. I learned science, and I know my science teacher would say that blue and green are the warm colors. SMB3 Sky Land

Hey Alex, do you have the original version? Because I tried it on the All Star Versions (Wii, but should be the same) and that's not the case. It is the case before you changed it. So, unless you can prove that it is that way in the original, we should have the one before you change it. If it is that way, both should be mentioned. I remember going back and forth on the Tower to see if I had to go through the whole thing in the Advance version, though tbh, my memory is blurred, so I'll double check. I don't remember much of the play I did for Advance, but I'm pretty sure that it is the same as All Star Version I tested it on. Which, you have to replay the level again if you go back to the ground, but if you go to the Pipe/Tower by mistake, you can fall down and go back to the sky with the cost of a life. idk, even if it's grammatically correct, some instances of English will always sound weird to me. "The first Legend of Zelda" and "The first The Legend of Zelda" both sound correct to me, as "Legend of Zelda" is a shorter form whereas "The" is actually in the title. I don't recall such a page existing, and I'm not finding it in SpecialPages. It sounds similar to something Gamepedia and Wikia does, but it doesn't seem useful, so it was probably deleted for that reason. As for the manual descriptions, I'm fine if they're added on, as long as they as are added along with the descriptions the wiki provides, since sometimes (not saying these descriptions have too many errors, but) official descriptions can have mistakes as to what they describe. As for the images, no, that actually violates consistency, and it's just easier to use {{button}} since the template's more versatile and can handle some situations that the button images can't. ^(T|C) 17:14, 23 January 2018 (EST)

I never said I thought they would be used on every page. Like I said, it's easier to use the {{button}} template, not just for versatility, but also for consistency with other articles. Hudson Mario Sourcing

Just wanted to ask about sourcing direct developer information. As you can see here: https://www.marioboards.com/index.php?topic=39544.0. I've been able to get information about version releases from Imatani San, a guy who worked on ads for Hudson during the development of their Mario games. So far, he has told of the existence and planning of other versions of the games, their release months (though a bit questionable, as I explain), and more information is still to come. That 1-Up Mushroom XD

Wow, I didn't realize what sort of tricks the devs use for textures. Making the coins grey and just applying a colored texture over them is neat, but stretching a tree and shrinking a mushroom seem like unnecessary steps, imo. 16:18, 26 January 2018 (EST)

They give them more detail for a smaller space. Due to the facts that each point on these graphics no longer occupies just a single point on the screen, as they can be squashed, stretched, and rotated at will, technically all the "tall"-looking ones are stretched in the final. It gives them detail without taking up as much space as having them be twice that size, which would use more memory. Also, this was one of the first times, so, it makes sense...while you're at it, check out how they did the Thwomps in Mario Kart 64 here. And yes, note the complete lack of a green variant, although it was verified it was just the lamp discoloring it when an old emulator I was using to play without a TV glitched and gave the Thwomps weird textures on the sides, and they were all tinted yellow for that specific Thwomp... Discussion tab issue

I viewed the talk page by clicking the link at Recent Changes, then viewed the page to see whether or not it was worth deleting, then saw that the discussion tab was red, despite the fact that I had already seen the page. Clciking the red tab still linked me to the discussion page. This has happened before. Both times were cases in which the talk page had been created minutes or moments ago.

SMB2

Well, the original SMB and the Lost Levels, Super Mario Land, and NSMBDS didn't feature flight powerups and they aren't neccessary as not all 2D Mario platformers have to have them. The Fire Flower has been the common staple since SMB1. Flight powerups were introduced in SMB3 and SMB2 was released before SMB3. There are exclusions added such as being strictly focused on the 2D Super Mario games and not the 3D ones which are different. Every 2D Mario platformer has an invincibility powerup. It, the "Land" games, and Run should really be listed as part of the main series, instead of arbitrarily referred to as "secondary" games. It's pretty obvious the reason that the "Land" games weren't included in the 25th anniversary list is that the items were given commentary by Miyamoto, Kondo, and Tezuka (if memory serves me correctly), who were not on the team who made the "Land" games. Daisy's Amount of Appearances

You and that other user are coming up with these arguments about how we don't say something like this for other characters as a defense against the information. But you can't apply this statement to other characters, that's why it's noteworthy to Daisy. Daisy appearing in so many video-games, especially with so many playable appearances, and being a female character, is the kind of thing they put in the Guinness world record books. Uh, Peach has appeared in 97, actually. That's 17 more than Daisy, so that is no meager amount, comparatively. It's odd to me you're now saying, "That's Peach. This is Daisy. Comparing the amount of games Daisy is in to Peach's amount of appearances is unnecessary," when your main argument against this was how we could then say this type of thing for other characters, but we couldn't, anyway. Daisy is the one female video-game character in the world with the most video-game appearances... aside from Peach. If someone were to figure out Mario has the most appearances of any character, that's one thing. If someone wants to state Peach actually has the most, that's another. If Luigi had the most aside from Mario, that's significant, too. I agree if you're going to try to say something outlandish like, "Yoshi has the most appearances of any video-game dinosaur," that's random and not significant. Culture regards female videogame characters to an obviously different regard. It's significant to Daisy because there are no other female characters aside from the obvious, Peach. It's not focusing on comparing her to Peach, though, so I don't know why you're focusing in on this in regards to other characters. From the start this has been about information about Daisy. We clearly don't agree. I clearly am not about to get the other user to agree with me. Modifying my existing userpages was undesirable, so creating a new userpage that would have been tagged for deletion would have been done anyways. I just decided to change it to a template. IP range

On a side note, for the IPv4 range you just blocked, wouldn't it be better to narrow the range down just to 5.40.210.0/24? The "Enemies" section falsifier seems to be limited to just that range. Just a thought. ^(T|C) 15:30, 5 April 2018 (EDT)

Red Bob-ombs

With the exception of Super Mario Galaxy 2, Bob-omb Buddies have never been red, and always bright pink, and SMG2 itself is a borderline case. Anyways, they're always helpful NPCs and never enemies. This seems more like a case similar to the smaller, keyless Bob-ombs (which were purple in remakes) from SMB3, ie a simple color differentiation that's not intended to link to other games.
