My favorite game in the Super Mario series is Super Mario Land. My favorite in the extended series is Donkey Kong Country. My favorite characters in the series are Mario, Luigi, Bowser, DK, Kritter, Wendy O. Koopa, and Geno.
As amazing as the Super Mario series is, I feel it might have been better if they had made it more like a post-modern fantasy series. I say they had it best before Super Mario World 2, though I have to say that the series has never disappointed. Stylistic changes don't matter.
