Hey! Welcome to my userpage!

Completed projects

  • Reupload all English WarioWare: D.I.Y. Showcase microgame images to get them in (1) better quality, (2) not blurry, and (3) not letterboxed.
  • Add "intro" commands for D.I.Y. Showcase microgames.
  • D.I.Y. Showcase comic and record lists.
  • Rewrite the D.I.Y. comic page.
  • Add Gold infobox info to microgame pages.
  • Fill out the List of Funky Kong quotes page with info about DKC, DKC2, DKC3 GBA, and DKJC.
  • Make pages for Funky's Flights missions.
  • Make a list of Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga media.
  • Make a list of Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest media.

Current projects

  • Fill out the List of Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga quotes page.
  • Help merge the DK Wiki.
  • Re-rip Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island sprites. A lot of them are ancient, taken from TSR (which has bad color palettes for Yoshi's Island), or could use a better pose.

Donkey Kong

The game is enjoyable to play in short bursts. There's not much else to say about it. Good

Donkey Kong Jr.

While I do enjoy this game, it's a lot more difficult than its predecessor. I don't like it as much, but it's still fun. Good

Mario Bros.

This game is fine. It's really hard, though. Decent
Dk jr math box.jpg

Donkey Kong Jr. Math

Have you ever wanted to play a video game solely about doing math? Neither have I, but clearly Nintendo thought somebody did. When I play Donkey Kong Jr., I want to be pushing keys and knocking down fruit, not doing math. Still, this game isn't that bad. It's good for a quick laugh. Decent

Super Mario Bros.

When you put it into perspective, it's a good game for its time, but now it's just decent. Not bad at all, but just kind of underwhelming. Decent

Super Mario Bros. 2

Maybe it's just me, but I consider this to be the best of the original NES trilogy. It's just so unique, and it's a lot of fun to play. Good
North American box art for Super Mario Bros. 3

Super Mario Bros. 3

I do not like this game. The level design is horrid and unfair. It makes me feel like I'm playing the Super Expert 100 Mario Challenge! There is no way to save, go back to previous worlds, or replay levels. However, I can give this game credit for introducing some fan-favorite characters, like Dry Bones, Thwomps, Boos, Chain Chomps, and the Koopalings. Bad

I don't really get this game. What am I supposed to be doing? Bad

This game is mediocre. It's a little boring. While I don't mind it, it's not something I'd go out of my way to play. Decent

Super Mario World

No, not the cartoon series. The SNES game. I really like this game. It improved on SMB3 in such a big way with the Cape Feather, Yoshi, hidden exits, an easy-to-traverse overworld, and challenging bonus levels. Great
Mario Paint

Mario Paint

At first, I thought "This game looks so stupid! Why would you ever want to play a MS Paint clone with Mario?" Then I decided to play it, expecting to quit after a few minutes. What really surprised me was this: the game is actually good. It's great stress relief. Try it some time. Good

Donkey Kong Country (Super Nintendo Entertainment System)

I very much prefer this game's sequels, due to them having more variety. This game isn't bad, though. Good
Title screen

Undake30 Same Game

This game is weird. It doesn't seem to have much value to it. There's just one singular puzzle mode, which is rather lackluster. I don't entirely hate it, though. It just kind of confuses me that it exists. Decent

Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island

I don't play this game a lot, but I end up having fun when I do. I'd recommend it. Good

Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest (Super Nintendo Entertainment System)

I like this game a lot. Diddy and Dixie are really fun characters to play as. The game never gets boring, and it stays very fun and fast-paced throughout. My favorite part has got to be the music. Great

North American box art for Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins

Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins

This game is really underrated! It's super creative and I love the soundtrack. The reason it doesn't get a "great" rating is because I found it too short. Good
North American box art for Mario's Picross

Mario's Picross

I didn't even know what Picross was until I played Mario's Picross. I got it so I could take a screenshot for the Game Over page, but then I played more of it. And you know what? It's actually fun. Good

Donkey Kong Land 2

Compared to the original, this one is kind of "eh." The music is worse, the graphics are worse, it's pretty much a downgrade. Why would you ever buy this if you have a SNES? Decent

I prefer PM64 over TTYD. 64 has memorable locations, lots of partners, great bosses, an outstanding soundtrack, and is just an overall great game. I wasn't sure if I would like it at first, but I did. Great

Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3

I only got this game because the Wii U eShop didn't have the original SNES version. And boy, did I not like this. I never completed the first world. Everything in this game is just worse; like DKL2, why would you even buy this if you have a SNES? Bad
North American box art for WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$!

WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$!

It's the first WarioWare game, but it's one of the weaker ones. It suffers from quite a bit of trial-and-error gameplay. Sometimes, like in Mix & Match and Slick Wheelie, I have no idea what I'm supposed to do. However, there are only a few bad microgames in the over 200. The bonuses are pretty fun. Orbulon's stage is probably my favorite in this game. Good

What do you get when you take the SNES version, downgrade the graphics and music, and add a bunch of quality-of-life improvements? You get this. Good
North American box art of Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga

Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga

I really like this game. It's a great start to the Mario & Luigi series. It's the most creative, there are lots of unique enemies, the bosses are fantastic, and the entire game is really fun. There are some flaws, like a few annoying characters (I'm looking at you, Starshade Bros.), way too many tutorials, and the entire Oho Ocean Seabed segment, but it's still a great game. If you want to play a Mario & Luigi game, you can't go wrong with this one. Great

Donkey Kong Country 2 (Game Boy Advance)

I think this is better than the SNES version. It makes 100% completion a lot more managable. Great
US box art for Donkey Kong Country 3

Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!

This game is pretty great. I like Kiddy Kong and don't find him annoying, the animals are fun to play as, there are lots of secrets, and the new overworld map is fun to explore. While I don't think it's as good as DKC2, it's pretty close. Great

DK: King of Swing

What even is this game? Why does it exist? The wonky controls were kind of fun at first, but then I realized, "Wait, I have to play the entire game like this!" I quit after the first world, and I don't plan to come back to it anytime soon. On the plus side, I do like the sprites and art style. Decent

Game Notes Rating
North American box art for Super Smash Bros. Melee

Super Smash Bros. Melee

The genuine best Smash game. I started with Brawl and find it hard to return. I play without items, and I only do tournament-legal maps. It is now very hard for me to play any Smash game except Melee. Great
File:Box NA - Super Mario Sunshine.png

Super Mario Sunshine

Something about this game is just... bleh. I know it's divisive, and I'm leaning towards the "bad game" side. I don't find it very fun, the controls are weird, and Mario's moveset is too small. I haven't bothered to play much of this. Bad
North American box art for Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door

I'm not a big fan of this game, honestly. The character designs are the ugliest out of all Paper Mario games, the amount of RNG in battles gets frustrating, and I can't think of many chapters I actually liked. Let's do a chapter-by-chapter recap:
  • Prologue: Boring.
  • Chapter 1: Fine. I don't like it, but I don't hate it either.
  • Chapter 2: Boring, uninteresting level design, and repetitive music.
  • Chapter 3: Fun for the first half. The story was really stupid and I didn't care for it.
  • Chapter 4: Repetitive, bad music, and lame enemies.
  • Chapter 5: What is it with this game and backtracking? This is just getting silly! Pirate's Grotto was a decent area, at least.
  • Chapter 6: There are no battles except for the final boss and a few in Riverside Station. I'm just messing around on some train the entire time.
  • Chapter 7: Admittedly, this one was kind of fun. Well, the second half, anyways. Fahr Outpost and the moon were pretty boring.
  • Chapter 8: I can barely even remember this one. It was okay.

Yeah, I don't get the praise for this game.

Not a big fan of this one. Obviously, there's the bad controls, but the constant character-switching didn't do much for me. Decent

WarioWare: Touched!

This game is good. Not my favorite WarioWare game, but it's still good. Good
MarioLuigiPartnersTimeBox.jpg

Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time

The best Mario & Luigi game on the DS. Still not the best of the entire series, however. I'd rank it between Dream Team and Paper Jam. Still, I do really like this one. While I do prefer Bros. Points, the Bros. Items were a nice change of pace. The game's soundtrack is good, and the areas are creative. Great

The North American cover of Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story.

Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story

Oh, no. Not this game. This game is terrible. It is not fun in the slightest. The entire game is gross, tedious, easy, and just plain stupid. You know how I said Partners in Time was the second-worst? This is the worst. Bad
North American cover of the Nintendo DS video game, WarioWare: D.I.Y.

WarioWare: D.I.Y.

The game-making section of this game doesn't feel very developed. It's overly complicated and not much fun to use. I don't really care for the records or comics, either. The microgames are incredibly basic, even by WarioWare standards. Still, it's a good game. I like the Job Center missions, the actually entertaining tutorials, and Body Rock. Good

Game Notes Rating
Super Paper Mario North American cover art

Super Paper Mario

This is my absolute favorite Paper Mario game. The gameplay is incredibly fun, there are lots of hidden secrets, there's a post-game, the bosses are great, and I love the soundtrack. I know this is a controversial opinion, but I find it very nice to stomp an enemy and not enter a long battle. Great
File:SmG.jpg

Super Mario Galaxy

I despise this game. It makes me feel really stupid merely by playing it. I get no enjoyment out of this game at all. It's super boring. Heck, even the soundtrack puts me to sleep! This is one of the only Mario games I haven't bothered to 100% complete. You know what? I'm going to dedicate an entirely new rating just for this game. It's that bad. Terrible
Super Smash Bros. Brawl box art

Super Smash Bros. Brawl

I used to like this game before I realized how much better Melee was. This game is too slow-paced and floaty for my tastes. Even when I was a super big fan of Brawl, I still despised the Subspace Emissary. I found it incredibly boring and not fun at all. Bad
File:Mariobox-noscale.jpg

New Super Mario Bros. Wii

This was the first Wii game — and also the first Mario game — I've ever played. Did I have fun with it? Yeah, I guess. I haven't played this game in years, but I do want to play it again. I remember it being a good game, though. Good
WWDIYS WiiWare.jpg

WarioWare: D.I.Y. Showcase

Technically, this is WiiWare, but I think it's close enough to fit in my Wii section. So how is this successor to D.I.Y.? Well, for one, it removes the main thing about D.I.Y.; the actual D.I.Y. portion. But the word "showcase" in the title already implies that. This game is made up of two good stages and two mediocre stages. I personally think the pre-made comics in this one are better than the ones in D.I.Y., too. Eh, the game is fine enough, but if you want to try WarioWare, don't start with this game. Decent
Boxart for Super Mario Galaxy 2.

Super Mario Galaxy 2

I don't dislike this game as much as Galaxy 1. Don't get me wrong, it's still a bad game, but at least there are brief bits of enjoyment in it. Let me count: the Mario Squared Galaxy was creative, and I liked the Sea Slide Galaxy, and... yeah, that's really it. The bad galaxies greatly outnumber the good ones. Bad
MP9Boxart.jpg

Mario Party 9

This was the first Mario Party game I've ever played. I just assumed that every game took place in a singular vehicle. But you know what? I actually like it. I'm actually compelled to care about other players' turns to think about how it will impact me later. It feels like everybody's working together as a team, but they're also trying to sabotage each other at the same time, which makes for some interesting gameplay. Good

Game Notes Rating
The North American cover for Super Mario 3D Land

Super Mario 3D Land

A little bland, but still good. Is this better than 3D World? I'm not entirely sure. If you want Mario on the 3DS, this game isn't a bad choice. Good
Paper Mario: Sticker Star North America box art.

Paper Mario: Sticker Star

As someone who doesn't care about story in the slightest, I really enjoyed this game. No ten hour-long cutscenes of annoying characters. I spent every second of the game battling or searching up a guide solving puzzles. The game looks visually great, the music is wonderful, the stickers feel unique and are all fun to use, and the fact that most Thing puzzles have multiple solution helps them a lot. Great
North America box art of Mario & Luigi: Dream Team

Mario & Luigi: Dream Team

I don't get the hate for this game. People always say, "oh, the tutorials stink!" Bowser's Inside Story had way more tutorials than this one. The dream world is a much more interesting and actually fun version of Bowser's body. Overall, this game is pretty great. Great
Mario & Luigi - Paper Jam - NOA Boxart.png

Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam

I don't get the hate for this game, either. The lack of original characters didn't bother me very much, and all the paper additions were fun. The Papercraft Battles were about as much fun as eating a cactus, but at least they're over fast. I consider this weaker than Dream Team, but I still really like it. Great
North American cover for WarioWare Gold.

WarioWare Gold

The voice acting is a lot of fun to listen to, the minigames and records were great rewards, the microgames are still awesome, the challenge modes are creative, and it's overall an incredibly fun experience. It's so easy to pick up and play for a little bit. All the controls, even the microphone and the gyroscope, work perfectly and never feel unresponsive. If you want to play WarioWare, and even if you don't, please try out this one.

This game, along with Super Paper Mario, is the reason I joined this wiki in the first place. While reading the Underwhere Road and Overthere Stair articles, I noticed some typos and thought, "huh, somebody should fix those." Then, when I got WarioWare Gold, I noticed a navbox missing from Rhythm Tweezers. I added it, went back to the Super Paper Mario pages to fix the typos, and here I am today.

Great

North American box art of Super Mario 3D World

Super Mario 3D World

This game is good until World Mushroom. It kind of feels like they ran out of ideas at that point. None of the rehashed "remixed" levels, besides Piranha Creeper Creek After Dark, provide much of a challenge. And the fake replayability? I only got three out of five runs done before I got so burned out by the game that I stopped playing it for years! At least I had fun with the game my first time through. Good

Trivia and Other Opinions

  • Enguarde is my favorite Animal Friend. Squawks is my least favorite.
  • I think Fawful was much better as a supporting character, like in Superstar Saga and Partners in Time, than as a full-fledged villain.
  • Fuzzies are my least favorite recurring enemy. My favorite is a tie between Thwomps, Shy Guys, and Chain Chomps.
  • I am not a fan of Nintendo's mindset of "no checkpoints + recycled challenge = hard level." This is the reason why I find The Perfect Run to be incredibly stupid. I have already went through this exact same level layout once, and forcing me to do it perfectly isn't fun. It's just annoying because I've already done this before and they're desperate to pad out the game with filler challenges.
  • Prankster Comets were a fun idea handled terribly. Before you complete them, they forbid you from playing any of the galaxy's other missions, which I really don't like.
  • Ashley's Theme is one of the worst songs in the WarioWare series, but I really like the Smash remix. It's the other way around for Mona Pizza and Mike's Theme.
  • I have reached the maximum possible score on the Cannonball Chuck Attackathon mode.
  • I have been featured on Super Mario Facts multiple times:
  • Arbitrary restrictions do not equal challenge.
