Daisy Blossom

“Daisy's Final Smash puts opponents to sleep with a hypnotic dance. Pick up the daisies that appear to recover some health.”
Smash Ultimate tips screen.
Daisy Blossom in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Daisy Blossom is Princess Daisy's Final Smash in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It is directly based on Peach's move Peach Blossom, and functions identically, although it is visually different and is themed around Daisy herself.

The background turns a deep orange Decorative flowers and petals spin around her, and two animated images of Daisy (from a selection of five) borders the area around her. As Daisy dances in a spotlight to a sped-up version of the music played in Coin Heavens, Sky Land, and the Warp Zone from Super Mario Bros. 3, three large daisies fall from the sky, and all of her opponents in range fall into a deep Sleep and take damage. Airborne opponents caught in the move will be sent tumbling helpless, possibly scoring Daisy an instant KO. This move allows her to gain an edge over her opponents either by attacking them or restoring her own health. All items aside from active assist trophies/Pokeballs are despawned.

The closer an enemy is to Daisy, the longer they will remain asleep and the more damage they will take. Each daisy heals 20% worth of damage by default, and the opponents sleeping time is also dependent on their percent and Daisy's percent + point advantage when initiating the move. As the princess's enemies remain unconscious, for a time after the attack, she has a choice on what she would do. All items aside from active ones (such as assist trophies and Pokeball summons) and held items are removed from play. Daisy and her teammates can restore their health by picking up the daisies and use any attack or held item on her sleeping opponents. Once a fighter is attacked, they will immediately awaken and have a chance to recover. Her opponents will have the chance to heal with the daisies if she does not. If the daisies aren't picked up in a certain amount of time, they will eventually disappear.

Daisy Blossom is an original attack in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Visually, the attack is reminiscent of the art style of Peach's first solo adventure, Super Princess Peach, with Daisy being drawn in a similar manner for the first time. The saturation of orange daisies throughout the move also represents Daisy's general flower theme she has in various Mario Sports titles.

Trivia

  • Along with Peach Blossom, this is the only other final Smash to have it's strength reduced in a software update. Version 3.0.0 of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate reduced the additional scaling of the sleep time as a player takes more damage.

Peach Blossom

“Somehow, Princess Peach always seems to go at her own pace. Her Final Smash will lure you into her world.... The flowers bloom. The peaches pour down. Yes. It’s so elegant.”
Masahiro Sakurai, Smash Bros. DOJO!!

Peach Blossom is Princess Peach's Final Smash in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

When activating the move, Peach performs a hypnotic dance, damaging enemies within the victinity and putting them to sleep. During the dance, hearts flutter around her and a border featuring two images of Princess Peach adorns the area around her. As Peach dances in a spotlight to a sped-up version of the music played in Coin Heavens, Sky Land, and the Warp Zone from Super Mario Bros. 3, peaches fall from the sky, and all of her opponents fall into a deep Sleep and take damage. The closer an enemy is to Peach, the longer they will remain asleep and the more damage they will take. As the princess's enemies remain unconscious, for a time after the attack, she has a choice on what she would do. All items aside from active ones (such as assist trophies and Pokeball summons) and held items are removed from play. Peach and her teammates can restore their health by picking up the peaches and use any attack or held item on her sleeping opponents. Once a fighter is attacked, they will immediately awaken and have a chance to recover. Her opponents will have the chance to heal with the peaches if she does not. If the peaches aren't picked up in a certain amount of time, they will eventually disappear.

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Peach summons thirteen small peaches each healing 5% worth of damage. The move does not affect aerial opponents, but grounded opponents fall into a deep sleep for a long time.

In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U she summons three large peaches, each healing 20% worth of damage. Additionally, the move now leaves airborne opponents tumbling in a helpless state, possibly giving Peach an instant KO. However, the move's range was reduced, and opponents sleep for a shorter period of time. Visually, the move now features a new border, with six unique animated images of Peach in different poses, two selected at random.

InSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate, the move puts opponents to sleep for a longer period of time. The stage background is now turned a deep pink color, with hearts saturating the screen. The decorative border, along with the move's functionality, is otherwise unchanged from the previous entry.

Daisy has a similar move called Daisy Blossom. The attack is functionally identical to Peach Blossom, but has daisies falling down from the sky instead of peaches.

Peach Blossom is an original attack in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Visually, the attack is reminiscent of the sugar-sweet art style of Peach's first solo adventure, Super Princess Peach. It is also a representation of Peach's flighty, yet elegant personality.

While this is happening, all the other characters fall asleep. So, Peach's dilemma is this--does she eat the peaches to lower her damage, or does she smack around her dozing enemies? Take stock of the situation and choose the path that leads to victory.

Peach Blossom Peach Blossom's trophy render from Super Smash Bros. for Wii U N/A Peach's Final Smash is quite a spectacle to behold. Giant illustrations of Peach herself frame the screen, giant peaches rain down, and all the other fighters fall asleep. The closer they are to Peach, the longer they'll stay snoozing, giving Peach plenty of time to send foes flying or to recover her health with the peaches.

Trivia

  • The Super Smash Bros. Brawl Premiere Edition Guide states that Peach's Final Smash puts enemies to sleep while inflicting no damage. This is incorrect, as they do take damage.
  • Along with Daisy Blossom, this is the only other final Smash to have it's strength reduced in a software update. Version 3.0.0 of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate reduced the additional scaling of the sleep time as a player takes more damage.
