Current Status: Luigi's Mansion 3 spoilers seem to be coming in despite it being two weeks until it releases, so until then I will be a bit careful. I also won't be doing any edits on anything about it until after I've finished it myself.
Super Mario is tied with Kingdom Hearts for my favorite game franchise.
The Nintendo Gamecube was my first ever console, and my first Mario game was Mario Kart: Double Dash. As of now, the Nintendo consoles I own are a 3DS, Wii U and Switch, and I still have my Gamecube.
My favorite game ever right now is Kingdom Hearts 3. My most anticipated game coming soon is Luigi's Mansion 3.
My top 10 Mario games in no particular order are:
Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga - The only Mario game for the GBA I have played (even if its on the Wii U VC). The game's remake is pretty much on the same level, I find Minion Quest to be very creative.
Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story - Might be my favorite Mario game, and definetly my favorite one for the DS. Lots of people say the best game for the DS is The World Ends With You. While I am a huge fan of that game, Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story IMO is the only DS game that can truly rival it. Once again the remake is on the same level and I'm a huge fan of Bowser Jr.'s Journey too. Here's a fun fact, the original game came out on the same day in the UK as Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, another DS RPG I really love.
Mario & Luigi: Dream Team - Favorite Mario game for the 3DS (besides the remakes of the aforementioned games), and can rival what I think by far the best game of the system: Kid Icarus: Uprising.
Super Mario 64 - My favorite Mario game from the 20th century.
Super Mario Galaxy - The first Mario game I played outside of the Mario Kart or New Super Mario Bros series, and actually what got me deeper into the franchise.
Super Mario Odyssey - Although not quite as exciting as Super Mario Galaxy, this game does get a bit close. Also my favorite game for the Switch.
Luigi's Mansion - I'm lucky enough to have the PAL version, meaning a better Hidden Mansion for me.
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door - Definetly my favorite Gamecube game, I just have mixed feelings on Bowser's portrayal in this game compared to the first Paper Mario game.
Super Paper Mario - Favorite Paper Mario game, and very close between this and Super Mario Galaxy for favorite Wii game.
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker - Favorite game for the Wii U.
