The Tsūdebiru
First appearance Yoshi's Safari (1993)

The Tsūdebiru is a strange jar-like creature that has only appeared in the game Yoshi's Safari. This being lives underwater and is the source of Tako. During the subjugation of Jewelry Land, the Tsūdebiru serves as a mini-boss in Bowser's forces.

Mario and Yoshi encounter the Tsūdebiru in the Crescent Coast of the Light Realm. The creature ambushes the player underwater. The Tsūdebiru launches wave after wave of Tako at Mario and Yoshi. Using the Super Scope, the player can blast the Tako right as they emerge from the Tsūdebiru, eliminating them. The player can also shoot the Tsūdebiru itself. After sustaining gunfire, the jar-like Tsūdebiru shatters into many small pieces, thus ceasing to exist. This is the only mini-boss that is not fought twice in the entire game.
