Trophy Creator is an application on the Play Nintendo website.[1] It enables users to design a custom printable trophy using elements from competitive multiplayer Nintendo Switch titles published by Nintendo. The application can only be used on tablets and desktop computers, not mobile phones.
Trophy Creator is briefly showcased in a Mario Kart 8 Deluxe video uploaded to the official Play Nintendo YouTube channel on August 19, 2023.[2] The video's narrator explains that this application was used to design the paper trophy awarded to the winner of the tournament presented in this video.
OverviewEdit
The user must first select one of the available game- or system-related logos for their trophy to display, which dictate the theme of the trophy. Each theme comes with distinct patterns, colors, and features for the trophy cup. After a logo/theme is chosen, the user is prompted to select a preferred color and pattern for their trophy, then decorate it with stickers that may portray items and characters related to the chosen theme. Stickers can be repositioned, rotated, resized, and removed using a pointing device or keyboard. On the sticker customization screen, there is also an option to preview the trophy with its decorations cropped to fit its front side ("Crop preview"). Next, the user can choose a prewritten message to be displayed at the trophy's base, or leave the recipient empty. Finally, they can opt to review their trophy and make additional changes, or download it as a set of printable PDF sheets with instructions on how to cut it out and build it.

The application is updated with new trophy themes as Nintendo publishes more multiplayer games for the Nintendo Switch. Sometimes, themes are also removed, as is the case with the Super Mario Party and Splatoon 2 themes. Older versions of the application have fewer customization options; other than the theme selection, users only have the option to type up to three lines of text as the message shown at the trophy's base before downloading the PDF file.[3]
ControlsEdit
A pointing device can be used to select and reposition the stickers placed on the trophy. When selected, the stickers display two adjacent buttons—one which can simultaneously rotate and resize the sticker when dragged, and another which deletes it when used. Alternatively, keyboard controls may be used:
