Artwork of Toad showing off his tent from Mario Pinball Land

Toad's tent[1] (known as a "shop" in the manual)[2] is a game mechanic and location in Mario Pinball Land. It is an item shop run by Toad and found in all stages of the game. In the Grassy Greens Stage, Frosty Frontier Stage, and Shifting Sands Stage, the shop can be accessed by touching the Toad located in certain areas of the stage with Mario. These shops sell a variety of items in exchange for coins, and the shops disappear upon Mario exiting, reappearing if he returns to the area. In the Fun Fair, Toad's tent can be accessed by entering the blue tent located at the stage. Unlike the other shops, it exchanges Blue Coins for items or minigames, the latter being from which Stars can be obtained.
