Thunderbirdo

The Thunder Birdo with Mouser.

The Thunder Birdo was a purple, colossal Birdo, who was also a member of King Koopa's Koopa Pack. It appeared in one episode of The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!

In The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! episode "Toad Warriors", King Koopa, attacking a Rebel Fort in Car Land, called for the Thunder Birdo to use in the attack. Hearing King Koopa, Mouser rushed to get the Thunder Birdo, who he brought forward on a car.

Once in position, the Thunder Birdo fired a giant egg at the Rebel Fort, which exploded violently upon the building, heavily damaging it. After this first attack on the Rebel Fort, the Thunder Birdo continued blasting the building with more explosive eggs.

Later, after Mario and Princess Toadstool had driven away from the semi-demolished Rebel Fort in a spaghetti sauce tanker truck, the Thunder Birdo, riding a car driven by Mouser, tried attacking them. Before the Thunder Birdo could fire an egg at the tanker truck, Princess Toadstool, who was riding on the truck's top, threw a Bob-omb bag into the Thunder Birdo's snout. The Thunder Birdo unwittingly swallowed it on reflex, causing it to blow up.

Trivia

• When the Thunder Birdo is introduced, its lower body is depicted as green with a yellow belly rather than purple with a white belly; later, just before its explosion, the shot of a panicked Mouser also shows its tail as green.
