The Trojan Koopa

Template:SMBSSbox "The Trojan Koopa" is the thirty-sixth episode of The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!. Its corresponding live-action segment is "Texas Tea".
Plot synopsis
On the island of Koopos, King Koopa has kidnapped Princess Toadstool again and is holding her in his island fortress with a ball and chain to her ankle. The Mario Bros. and Toad arrive to Koopos with a bathtub, when suddenly, King Koopa orders the Hammer Brothers to attack them. After escaping their hammers, Mario figures out a plan to go into the wall to save Princess Toadstool. Mario ties a plunger to his feet, but falls due to the Hammer Brothers breaking a brick he was standing on. Luigi tries to go though the wall by a long stick, but fails. Toad tries to leap, but he falls, lands on a trampoline, and is bounced down to Mario and Luigi.
After they realize that they cannot save Princess Toadstool, the Hammer Brothers attack again. However, Mario defeats them by letting the Hammer Brothers hit each other. After that, Mario changes them into Mario and Luigi look-alikes, and sends them into the water on a boat to make it look like they gave up and moved away. They also make a statue of King Koopa so they can sneak in. When King Koopa sees this statue, he becomes in love with it. He does not notice that Mario, Luigi, and Toad are in it. Later, Toad, Mario, and Luigi come out, only for the Hammer Brothers to escape and come back. Mario and the gang are ambushed by King Koopa, four Shyguys, and the Hammer Brothers.
Princess Toadstool wishes that she could help her friends "upon a falling star...man." Toadstool's wish comes true, and she becomes Super Princess with it. She defeats the Hammer Brothers and the four Shyguys. After she saves the Mario Bros. and Toad, King Koopa escapes, though he uses a sinking bathtub to escape and the Mario Bros. use their statue.

Animation and continuity errors
- In some shots, the Hammer Brothers have yellow spots on their arms.
- The awning changes color throughout shots of the episode.
- In the scene with the Trojan Koopa, its eyes change throughout shots.
- At the very start of the episode, the waves are repeating.
- When Mario, Luigi, and Toad were riding up the wave, Luigi's sideburns were flashing.
- When the Hammer Brothers were waving their hammers at Princess Toadstool, they are repeating.
- It is odd how Mario, Luigi, and Toad can communicate with the Hammer Brothers when the latter group are on top of the tower.
- When the Hammer Brothers were banging the brick that Mario was on, it came out the wall, but in the next shot, it was back in the wall.
- When Mario got knocked of the tower, he flew far, but in the next shot, he was just falling down the tower.
- It is also strange how Mario uses Luigi's overalls as a slingshot, but Luigi was still dressed in a green outfit.
- After Toad says that he is a bad Mushroom Retainer, he just freezes.
- When Princess Toadstool looks through the telescope, the boat is moving, but when King Koopa looks through, the boat is staying in place.
- When the Hammer Brothers are tied up in the boat, the one wearing Mario's clothes has Luigi's mustache, and the one wearing Luigi's clothes has Mario's mustache. However, in one shot, the Luigi Hammer Brother is wearing Luigi's mustache.
- When King Koopa is looking at the Trojan version of himself, he has more spikes on his shell than usual.
- When it showed the Hammer Brothers floating away for the second time, the background is repeating.
- When Mario was telling Luigi and Toad that they can't wake anyone up, he has two eyebrows.
- When the Hammer Brothers were banging at the door, Princess Toadstool's dress flashed.
- When Princess Toadstool was watching the big chase, her dress was all pink.
- When Princess Toadstool was jumping on the Shyguy, one just appears.
- When Princess Toadstool jumps to catch the Starman, her chain disappears.

Trivia
- This episode makes a few obscure references to the rest of the Mario franchise, including Toad chastising himself for being a bad Mushroom Retainer.
- When Toad is about to go into the fortress by being launched into it, he is wearing Toad Warrior's helmet.
- Princess Toadstool using a Starman is the only time she uses a power-up in The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!, and also the second time she undergoes a magical transformation in an episode of the three DIC Mario cartoons. In "Two Plumbers and a Baby", she transforms into an infant.
- The fact that Mario used a statue of Bowser to get inside his fortress is a reference to the Trojan War.
- The Shyguys in this episode are voiced by Harvey Atkin as opposed to their usual voice actor, Jeannie Elias.
