Template:SMBSSbox "The Trojan Koopa" is the thirty-sixth episode of The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!. Its corresponding live-action segment is "Texas Tea".

Plot Synopsis

In an island owned by King Koopa, King Koopa has kidnapped Princess Toadstool again and is holding her in his island fortress. The Mario Bros. and Toad arrives to his island with a bathtub, when suddenly, King Koopa order the Hammer Bros. to attack them. After escaping their hammers, Mario figured a plan to go into the wall to save Princess Toadstool. Mario tied a plunger to his feet, but he fell due to the Hammer Bros. breaking a brick he was standing on. Luigi tried to go though the wall by a long stick, but failed. Toad tried a leap, but he fell, went to a trampoline, and he fell down to Mario and Luigi. After they realize that they can't save Princess Toadstool, the Hammer Bros. attack again. However, Mario defeated them by letting the Hammer Bros. hit each other. So after that, Mario change them to Mario and Luigi look like and float it away to make it look like they gave up and moved away. They also made a statue for King Koopa so they can sneak in. When King Koopa sees this statue, he became in love with it. In fact, he didn't notice that Mario, Luigi, and Toad was in it. Later, Toad, Mario, and Luigi came out, only for the Hammer Bros. to escape and come back. Mario and the gang were ambush away by King Koopa, 4 Shy Guys, and the Hammer Bros. and they ran away from them until they were trapped. Princess Toadstool wished that she wish a shooting star. Toadstool's wish came true, and she became Super Princess. She defeat the Hammer Bros. and the 4 Shy Guys. After she saved the Mario Bros. and Toad, King Koopa escaped, however he had a sinking bathtub ship to escape and the Mario Bros. used their statue.

Animation and Continuity errors

  • In some shots, the Hammer Bros. have yellow spots on their arms.
  • In the second shot with the Hammer Bros. disguised as the Mario Bros., their mustaches are swapped.
  • The awning changes color throughout shots of the episode.
  • In the scene with the Trojan Koopa, its eyes change throughout shots.
  • At the very start of the episode, the waves are repeating.
  • When Mario, Luigi, and Toad were riding up the wave, Luigi's sideburns were flashing.
  • When the Hammer Bros. were waving their hammers at Princess Toadstool, they are repeating.
  • It is odd how Mario, Luigi, and Toad can communicate with the Hammer Bros. if their are on top of the tower.
  • When the Hammer Bros. were banging the brick that Mario was on, it came out, but in the next shot, it was back on.
  • It is strange how the Hammer Bros. throw their hammers of the tower, but then get them back, when banging Mario of the tower.
  • When Mario got knocked of the tower, he flew far, but in the next shot, he was just falling down the tower.
  • It is also strange how Mario uses Luigi's overalls as a slingshot, but Luigi still was wearing green.
  • After Toad says that he is a bad Mushroom Retainer, he just freezes.
  • When Princess Toadstool looks through the telescope, the boat is moving, but when King Koopa looks through, the boat is staying in place.
  • When King Koopa is looking at the Trojan version of himself, he has more spikes on his shell than usual.
  • When it showed the Hammer Bros. floating away for the second time, the background is repeating.
  • When Mario was telling Luigi and Toad that they can't wake anyone up, he has two eyebrows.
  • When the Hammer Bros were banging at the door, Princess Toadstool's dress flashed.
  • When Princess Toadstool was watching the big chase, her dress was all pink.
  • When Princess Toadstool was jumping on the Shy Guy, one just appears.
  • When Mario is saying the Plumbers Log, he says Kooper instead of Koopa.
    • Also, when Mario is saying the Plumbers Log, he is shown speaking it.

Trivia

  • This episode makes a few obscure references to the rest of the Mario franchise, including Toad chastising himself for being a bad Mushroom Retainer and later complimenting the Mario brothers on their carpentry of the Trojan Koopa (Mario's experience as a carpenter in his earlier life may have contributed to the construction of the statue).
  • When Toad is about to go into the fortress by being launched into it, he's wearing Toad Warrior's helmet.
  • When Princess Toadstool used the powers of the Starman, her dress turned from white and pink to red, white and blue, which are the three colors that symbolize France and the United States of America. It is the only time she uses a power-up in The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!, and also the second time she undergoes a magical transformation in an episode of the three DIC Mario cartoons. In "Two Plumbers and a Baby", she transforms into an infant.
  • The fact that Mario used a statue of Bowser to get inside his fortress is a reference to the Trojan War.
  • This episode, along with Koopenstein, On Her Majesty's Sewer Service, and The Unzappables is the only episode not to come with a live action segment due to legal issues.
  • The Shy Guys in this episode are voiced by Harvey Atkin as opposed to their usual voice actor, Jeannie Elias.
