Section of the Month

My apologies for the delay, everyone. Taking third place in July's section of the month results are Super Fresh Paper Mario, by Super-Yoshi (talk), and Mario Kart: Wheel Tips Corner, by Ninelevendo (talk), with seven votes each. Yoshi876 (talk) and YoshiKong (talk) took second place with their collaborative Disaster at the Race Track, which received eight votes. Finally, in first place with ten votes is Evolutionary Taxonomy of the Koopas by Walkazo (talk). Thanks to everyone who contributed and voted. Keep an eye out next month for this month's results!

The 'Shroom Spotlight

Shroom Spotlight Lakitu.png

Welcome avid young 'Shroom readers to this month's wonderfully on-time edition of The 'Shroom Spotlight! (Haha no it was late again)

It's our 8th 'Shroom Spotlight for this year, so if you haven't quite caught the drift of what we're doing yet then why are you here allow us to explain our mindless ritual job. Each month, we select a handful of poor articles and highlight them and their flaws in this section. By doing so, we hope that our editors will attempt to improve the quality of each article so we can review the progress made in the next issue, as well as provide a new selection articles that need improvement, and thus the cycle continues (AND NEVER ENDS).

Fake News

Hey, and welcome to the Fake News, which I'm gonna be honest here I kinda forgot about because of the Awards and whatnot. But don't worry, I'm sure pretty much everyone else didn't! I hope.

While we're on the subject of the Awards, thanks for voting for Fake News as Favourite Sub-Team again! Yes, all 13 of you. While I'm here, thanks for voting me as Favourite Veteran Writer as well even though I've written about three sections this year. Either way, congratulations to everyone who won something or came close to doing so.

Fun Stuff

Director's Notes (Super Mario Bros. (talk))

Hello everybody, welcome to this August edition! We have a smaller Fun Stuff this month, mostly due to busyness with the Awards and also because I was out of town and unable to properly coordinate a larger section this time around. Next month I believe we plan on having a Special Issue dedicated to the Awards, so we will have a much bigger, better Fun Stuff with some special features as well! Be sure not to miss it! Here are the results for Fun Stuff's Section of the Month for July 2014. I would like to thank those that voted last month, and be sure to vote again this month!

Palette Swap

Director's Notes (FunkyK38 (talk))

Greetings, all! Nothing to say this month, it’s been pretty quiet around here. Do check out all the great sections we’ve got this month!

Pipe Plaza

Co-Director's Notes (Paper Yoshi (talk))

Well, hello everyone, and welcome to the August Issue of Pipe Plaza. Yoshi876 and I don't have anything new to report to you regarding the Sub-Team as a whole, although I do have some news of my own to share with you guys.

After leaving my position as Mario Calendar writer, I started thinking about my future in the paper, and when I would leave the last three positions I currently hold here: Monthly Report writer, Pipe Plaza Co-Director and Upcoming Games writer (that's still me, even though I've been on hiatus for quite some time).

Critic Corner

Director's Notes Palkia47 (talk)

Welcome everybody to the August issue of the ‘Shroom! :)

I hope everybody had an amazing awards ceremony and I hope everybody was awful at getting trifectas! Because I’m just that type of person. :’)

MK:WTC

Ninelevendo

Hi, welcome to second issue since the resurrection of The 'Shroom, Mario Kart: Wheel Tips Corner! . In this month, we'll purely cover Mario Kart 8 related stuff, seeing that it has been released for a while and now more is actually known about the game. So, I'll review a popular Mario Kart 8 kart, that both will give you the advantage will speeding in style. I'll review a yet another MK8 course, and I'll also give a review on a character. But wait, here's a bonus: I'll review a set of tires. Cool, huh? What do mean no? Just keep reading.

Retro Feature

Yoshi876

Hello, readers! I'm your co-Spotlight manager and co-Pipe Plaza Director, Yoshi876. Welcome to Retro Feature, a section in which I delve deep into the archives to bring you the best blasts from the past. This time I bring you our current director’s, Superchao (talk), first ever section!

Superchao joined the MarioWiki on 16th December 2006. Superchao made his 'Shroom debut during Issue 3 in the Fun Section (now known today as Fun Stuff). He wrote the first ever Quiz section, a section that is still in use in today’s paper. He would go on to write this a further two times before stopping. Later on he would go onto to become the Director for Fun Stuff. However, his time here was short and he only spent three issues with the reins, before he was swapped out with Smasher (talk).

Beyond 120 Stars

Megadardery

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the new article for The 'Shroom: Beyond 120 Stars. Megadardery is here with mind-blowing challenges and more for his favorite game.

SM64 Logo ingame.png
Ever thought that Super Mario 64 was too easy, or something? Ever thought that you don't want to play the same missions over, and over? Ever thought that you were too good for this game, but still don't know what else can you do? In this -overly useless- article, you will find -overly useless- challenges that you may enjoy, if you are a hard-core lover of SM64. You may also find some shortcuts that can be useful in speed-runs, or whatever. If you think you are an advanced player, try one of the challenges that is labeled as Very Hard!

Closing Statement

Hello, Shroom readers! I spent a whole lot of time putting together the awards, so I haven't really been able to focus on the 'Shroom. Next month is our Awards Special Issue, which will feature quite a bit of stuff related to the ceremony. See you then!
