Director’s Notes (Marioguy1 (talk))

Hey guys! It’s Marioguy1 <3

Welcome to another issue of the Pipe Plaza. Sorry for the lateness of this, I wasn’t able to properly manage the Pipe Plaza this month. Therefore I will be taking a break from directing the Pipe Plaza until I am able to manage it properly.

This month we would like to bid farewell to WigglerWhoopin’Warrior135 who has unfortunately resigned.

Upcoming Games (Paper Yoshi (talk))

Hello everyone, and welcome to Part 2 of our E3 coverage! This month, we'll take a look at the remaining 3 Mario games. Unlike last month, however, not much has been revealed about these games, which will make this Upcoming Games issue rather short.

The game's E3 trailer revealed another partner, this time a Green Toad

Paper Mario 3DS

The E3 trailer simply demonstrated the gameplay for this Paper Mario installment. It'll be very similar to the series' first two games, while incorporating 3D elements in aspects such as the overworld and the battle screen. Paper Mario 3DS will also bring back the Bingo! feature from Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, although it'll be renamed Battle Chance.

Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games

Unfortunately, Mario & Sonic London 2012 wasn't given much time last month at Nintendo's E3 conference. It briefly appeared in a trailer showing third-party games, and basically nothing new was unveiled aside from four new sports: Badminton, Football/Soccer, Equestrian and Field Hockey for the Wii version, as well as Race Walk, Canoeing and Judo for the 3DS version.

Wario's turn in the new "car mode"

Mario Party 9

Mario Party 9 will feature a new game mode reminiscent of Mario Party Advance: all players move together in a car, while collecting unnamed silver stars. However, the traditional individual mode will still be present in the game. MP9 will also feature new minigames, including 2 vs. 1 minigames against Bowser Jr.

Release Dates (North America)

  • Paper Mario 3DS: TBA
  • Mario & Sonic London 2012 Olympics:
    • Wii Version: November 2011
    • 3DS Version: February 2012
  • Mario Party 9: TBA

And with that, we finish the Upcoming Games E3 coverage! I'll keep you all posted on these games as news come. I hope you enjoyed this month's issue!

Anniversary Announcements (Ralphfan (talk))

Polls closed on July 13th. Most of the Mario and Fail polls got at least 800 votes, and some broke 1,000! Thanks to all the voters, except the ones that entered joke votes, or "all", or "none", or something like a game that wasn't released yet. It screws up vote counts and makes everyone's job a lot harder. Hopefully we won't have this problem next year. Great job to all the other voters. I believe we have broken records for the most votes, though I haven't finished doing all the math just yet.

The ceremony takes place on August 12, and until then, we have some great events to keep you entertained. Stooben and I are hosting a Mafia game, there is a contest to guess the results, and BMB is hosting a Brawl tournament. For all of these events, there will be prizes. And not just any prizes, hella prizes. These hella prizes range from a special appearance in The 'Shroom to Nintendo Points. All you have to do is sign up and play. Good luck!

Thanks to all the presenters who have signed up. Your presentations are due August 5th and if you have not received your results in your inbox on the forums, you will in the next couple of days. The only excuses will be for backup presenters and people that have had unexpected events come up. Hopefully, none of these things will happen.

Forum Update (Ralphfan (talk))

The ability to change one's name without the help of a moderator was revoked this past month due to overuse by certain users. *glares* You know who you are. Anyway, The official name change request thread is back in use and people need a moderator to change their name for them once again. Name changes have been limited to once a month.

Stooben's mafia game is still going on. It's about to end, though. Go werewolves!

Tip of the Month (FunkyK38 (talk))

Tip of the Month: I've encountered this many times: when creating an account in the forums and you come to the verification code, type all the letters lowercase, even if they are shown as capitals. None of them are numbers, either, which I have seen used on other websites. If you really can't tell what it says, hit the "Listen to the Letters" button, and it will read it for you.

PipeProjects Seeking Contributors (Yoshiwaker (talk))

Hello! I'm back with another great PipeProject that you should sign up for! It's the "Microgame+Template:Button" PipeProject; which will add the {{Button}} template to all the microgame articles. This is good because it will make use of the great and simple Button template.
