The 'Shroom Spotlight

Hello readers of The 'Shroom, and welcome to Spotlight. Spotlight is a community project which aims to fix up the articles on the wiki which have issues. These issues can range from poor writing to a lack of images, to even just needing a credible source.

Welcome to February's edition of Spotlight. The Spotlight of love, but there's not a lot to love when there are still many articles on the Mario Wiki that need fixing. So maybe we should skip the chocolates and flowers and cards and focus on fixing up their issues.

We start this roundup with a couple of apologies. 7feetunder (talk) had actually fixed Snowball Valley, and the article is actually in really great shape. Also, it was decided that articles like Bowser's Castle X should not be created, so apologies for highlighting it. But we did have a very successful January. Although File:BlueBulletBill SMS.png was not recaptured, everything else that could be fixed was fixed. TheFlameChomp (talk) expanded Grinding-Stone Tower and gave it an amazing layout, Baby Luigi (talk) rewrote Piper (Paper Mario: Color Splash) so now the article actually focuses on the character and not the friend, and she also removed all the excess trivia on Sticker (Paper Mario: Sticker Star) as well as clearing out the trivia category (at the time). And finally, Shiny K-Troopa (talk) found a source for Sweet Sweet Galaxy's original name.

And now onto this month's focuses:

Article Category Focuses
Cowabunga?
Wanted article
It's been a few months since we last had a WarioWare microgame, and I really want to know what this one is all about. I'm imagining something to do with cows and maybe bungee jumping. And by imagining, I mean hoping.
Speed Golf
Stub article
This minigame appears in four different games, and yet only musters two lines, something's got to be wrong here. From this article, I can't gather whether any course is allowed to be played or if it's just special ones, or whether the rules even change from game to game. And if it's appearing in multiple games, why is there only the one image?
Dragoneel's Undersea Grotto
Rewrite and expansion required
Usually these get tagged as stubs, but this time, it has been tagged as a re-write expand. Same rules apply though, this is just a small notation, not a layout section. Need a hint as to what to aim for, just look at what TheFlameChomp did last month for Grinding-Stone Tower.
Venus Flower Trap
Citation needed
If we're lucky, this won't be the article's name by the end of the month. Apparently, these things are called Bee Traps, and as the current name is conjectural, if we can find a source for Bee Trap, then this article needs to be moved over.
Mushroom Bridge
Long trivia section
Baby Luigi had trimmed out the trivia section, but it's crept right back up. Not only is there unnecessary information in there, but a lot of it is also poorly written and confusing to read.
File:RockCandyMines1.jpg
Image quality requested
This isn't the worst image that the wiki has ever seen, but it is still blurry and could be a lot crisper.

Now just before I leave you, I'd like to tell you about the NIWA Spotlight. This is a project being run by Alex95 (talk) and can be found in this paper's Pipe Plaza section. Much like this Spotlight, the NIWA Spotlight aims to fix up articles across various Nintendo franchises, that are all part of our NIWA group. I'd also like to tell you about unimplemented proposals. There are currently nine, which was the same as last month, that need to be implemented, some of which date back to 2015, so think of this as a continuous Spotlight goal until they're all completed.

Thanks for tuning in to the newest edition of The 'Shroom Spotlight! Be sure to turn up next month, where we'll be reviewing the progress on the above focuses. If you have any questions or suggestions about this month's set of article focuses, then please get in touch through the dedicated topic if you have a forum account. If not, then please contact myself on my wiki talk page, but you are far more likely to get a quick response if you go through the forums. You are also welcome to make suggestions on what you think we could focus on in our next edition. Thank you, and good luck!
