- The CD version of the song that plays in Sherbet Land from Mario Hoops 3-on-3!! samples vocals from the song "Blind 2 See", from the anime Air Gear.
- Princess Peach was considered to make an appearance in Punch-Out!! as a fighter but the idea was dropped because Kensuke Tanabe opposed the thought of punching out women in the game.
- On April 22 2015, Nintendo of America's Twitter account posted a photo of a plush Waluigi ridding a Wiggler with the caption "Reply WAAAA for #WaluigiWednesday. Reply [flower emoji] for #WiggerWednesday.", having typo'ed "Wiggler" as the slur word "wigger". The account would later delete the tweet.
