YWW Name

Isn't there somewhere in the game that it refers to these as something else? I could be wrong, but I believe it's in the electronic manual. J-Luigi (talk) 16:08, 24 March 2016 (EDT)

This article's name comes from (the manual for) Yoshi's New Island (Section 14: Transformation), but there's also a "Transformation Door" mentioned in (the manual for) Yoshi's Woolly World (Section 13: Items and Things). I don't know enough about the games to say if the Whirly Gate and the Transformation Door are one and the same, but I'm laying the info out there for someone who knows better. This mostly stems from Time Turner's comment directly above.

These two objects are mostly the same; Yoshi enters them, Yoshi transforms, then Yoshi goes through a timed segment where he must use his transformation to reach the goal. Based on this observation, I think these two objects are too similar to warrant separate articles, so I propose that we merge both of them.

1. FanOfYoshi (talk) "But have the same function" is too weak of an argument to use by itself. They look different, have a different Japanese name, and i'd prefer to avoid any potential speculation that could creep in the wiki. Just state that it has the exact same function as the Whirly Gate and call it a day.

Doomhiker (talk) Despite acting like a Goomba, Goombo is spit from Goomba with both Goombos and Goombas having separate Japanese and English names, and unlike Whirly Gates which also have the added bonus of looking different from Transformation Doors Goombos look nearly identical to Goombas both in-game and in artwork, so if we merged Whirly Gates with Transformation Doors then we would also by the same logic merge Goomba and Goombo. The only thing Whirly Gate and Transformation Doors have in common is their function, which in my opinion is insufficient for a merge.
