I'm thinking that this save screen puts the collage onto the Photo Channel, which can be put onto an SD Card, then onto the computer as an image to print it, brag to your friends you have a ton of these, etc. The extra mode wouldn't be much use if you couldn't take them out to the real world, IMO, except for completionists, so I'm pretty certain this will be the full functionality. Of course, wait until the game comes out until putting it in the article. Wa Yoshihead.png TC@Y 03:11, 15 August 2007 (EDT)

Yeah, wait til' it is released. My Bloody Valentine
All the stickers seem to represent official artwork from various games. Should we make a list, or only a list for Mario characters, or wait for the game to be released? - Cobold (talk · contribs) 04:57, 15 August 2007 (EDT)
Wait for the game to be released. My Bloody Valentine
I think we should make this just like the List of Trophies page. Paper Jorge! I give paper cuts so stand back!

But Stickers probably don't even have descriptions, unlike trophies (also, the page you are looking for is Trophy Descriptions). And it wouldn't hurt pointing out that some stickers are based off official artwork from other games.Knife (talk) 13:11, 15 August 2007 (EDT)

So we cant make a list? Full Metal MoogleKirbyWalk.gif

Huh... We can have a table like the Trophy, including his "atributes" in the Subspace Emisary. For example, something like that:
Number of the Sticker - Name - Game series - Effect

1 - Mario - Mario series - +1 jump

Huh... sounds strange, eh? :P. Or, simply, we can do a Gallery with all the stickers...--Caith Sith 11:35, 18 January 2008 (EST)

Who is the sticker right next to the wariocar? (The cowboy type person)Full Metal MoogleKirbyWalk.gif

That's one of the gunmen from the NES game Wild Gunman, as seen on the game's Japanese and European cover. I don't know his name, though, if he even has one. Or is he already mentioned in the list? --Grandy02 11:30, 18 January 2008 (EST)

Silver

Silver redirects here, shouldn't he have an article, being in Mario and Sonic's opening and this? --HyperToad 14:58, 5 December 2007 (EST)

Silver makes a very, very, VERY minor appearance in the opening of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games. He was meant to be playable, but Sega, the idiots, left him in the opening when he was taken out. And he is only seen for a split second, so, that doesn't count. And, simply being a Sticker in Super Smash Bros. Brawl does not make him major enough to have his own article. My Bloody Valentine Two minor appearances in two crossover games. Yep, that's REALLY major(!)

Of course, my previous comment was made before I knew stickers had effects. Also, shouldn't the title of the article be singular?Knife (talk) 15:47, 18 January 2008 (EST)

Stickers

Are the stickers on this page supposed to be only the Mario/Super Smash Bros. Related ones? Or all, like the trophies? Marcelagus (TCE)

Geez, will anyone reply? I repeat: Is this page only supposed to have Mario-related stickers? 'Cause if it had all, that would be a heck of a lot of stickers, and I don't even know if it would follow our importance policy. Well, the trophies are all listed, so... Anyone to share their thoughts? Marcelagus (TCE) that last comment was put there in April...

Proposal: Split pages

NO QUORUM 1-0

Can we split this? Like to "Stickers (Smash Bros.)" and "Stickers (Paper Mario)"?

Barlw Stickers

D-bot and Ultradude had a conversation regarding whenever we should use stickers or actual artwork for this page. It's only natural that I jump in because I'm the first one who attempted this, so I'm going to input. We use sticker sprites because that's how it appears in the game, so we should compromise for accuracy rather than using full-size artwork. Any other thoughts? But should we shouldn't do this for Mario artwork that's already on the wiki. It's a case of duplicate files.--UM3000 E-102 Gamma.png
It's not really duplicate artwork. One is artwork, the other is a sprite of a sticker. Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 17:09, 3 May 2014 (EDT)

Genders

Question, does the gender referral have to be "he or she"? Because others may want to be referred to as no gender (they/them), not to mention I know people that do. As well knowing anybody could be both genders. It confuses me a bit, so I didn't hesitate to ask about it. .::Toadette::. (talk) 15:24, 13 May 2014 (EDT)

Trim this page

Settledproposal.svg This talk page proposal has already been settled. Please do not edit any of the sections in the proposal. If you wish to discuss the article, do so in a new header below the proposal.

Leave as is 3-6
Consistent with how the trophy pages list subjects from only the Super Mario franchise, this proposal aims to trim the stickers list to show only Super Mario characters, making it significantly easier to see which stickers represent the Super Mario franchise, including non-Super Mario that can exclusively be used by a few fighters if at least one of them is from the Super Mario franchise (e.g. how Master Belch can be used by Yoshi and Wario). I made the change in this revision of the article, but I was notified that this would need approval via a proposal, so if this passes, the revision I linked to will be reinstated. A full list can be found at SmashWiki, as indicated by {{main-external}} used in my revision of the article.

  1. Super Mario RPG (talk) As proposer.
  2. TheUndescribableGhost (talk) There's a lot of filler on this page that makes it quite pointless for a Super Mario reader.
  3. Axis (talk) Per my reasoning in previous proposal.

Oppose

  1. Waluigi Time (talk) Per the last proposal about this. Unlike trophies, stickers affect gameplay, and I'm also concerned that this proposal will apparently delete stickers usable by all characters if there's not a direct relation to Mario.
  2. Tails777 (talk) There are a total of 206 out of 700 stickers that are exclusively used by characters who are not from the Mario series (yes I counted, yes I could've miscounted, but let's roll with that) and that number could be less if R.O.B. and Mr. Game & Watch creep the coverage barrier. And while that is a rather high number, being less than half doesn't really convince me it's worth separating what can and can't be used by a Mario series character (cause I feel stickers that are usable by everyone are still usable by Mario characters and technically should count) and I feel it's no harm that we cover every sticker. Also, per Waluigi Time.
  3. SolemnStormcloud (talk) Per opposition.
  4. Koopa con Carne (talk) I'd be for removing stickers that have no connection to Mario whatsoever, but IMO those stickers that don't depict a thing from Mario but are usable by all fighters (and, implicitly, by all Mario fighters) should still be covered.
  5. Hewer (talk) Per all, and the logic that Mario characters can use them because all characters can is what's keeping spirits untrimmed too (and I guess also the List of Super Smash Bros. series items). But also I feel like having a list of stickers that haphazardly excludes only some of the non-Mario ones would seem weirder and less complete than just keeping them all, per Tails777.
  6. Power Flotzo (talk) Per all.

Comments

So will this remove stickers that aren't represented by a Mario character and also don't have exclusivity to any Mario characters? For instance would Master Belch from Earthbound stay for granting benefits to Wario and Yoshi? That was a sticking point of a proposal.[1] Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 12:58, January 27, 2024 (EST)

Yes, that's what I was aiming to describe, and in the revision I showed, you will see I kept Master Belch. Super Mario RPG (talk) 13:01, January 27, 2024 (EST)

We're going to abstain from this, if for no other reason that we figure if we were to go one way or the other as to if "other characters can use these too" is worth keeping the articles split/comprehensive, we'd also need to do the same both to Spirits, Equipment, and to a lesser extent the various items. personally, we'd rather trim down on all of these except for MAYBE the list of items, but this is a move that'd be way too drastic even for this proposal's standards. the smash coverage as a whole needs a serious re-work because it's leaving some aspects (cough cough categories) in truly dire states. ~Camwoodstock (talk) 15:56, January 28, 2024 (EST)

To me, the argument about how all these stickers applying to Super Mario fighters begs the question if that means a full list of stickers should be on other Nintendo wikis. That's why we have SmashWiki. Super Mario RPG (talk) 16:01, January 28, 2024 (EST)
And as has been reiterated time and time again throughout the years of Smash Bros. coverage debates, what other wikis do doesn't dictate what this one does. They have their own standards, we have ours. Hewer (talk · contributions · edit count) 17:17, January 28, 2024 (EST)
