they're not the same Star Rod. They're from different series, have different purposes, different functions, and different appearances. Ray Trace^(T|C) 16:49, 5 September 2016 (EDT)

But other things with the same name but different appearances like enemies with new designs are the same article. The Star Spirits are the same ones from Paper Mario and they are in the Mario Party series and slightly different appearances (no mouths). So, who's to say this isn't the same Star Rod from Paper Mario but with an updated appearance?

Easy - absolutely nothing beyond speculation indicates this is the case with this Star Rod, whereas the Star Spirits outright reuse their previous designs and names. -- Lord G. matters. 05:18, October 8, 2019 (EDT)
