Merge Ski Yoshi and Snowball YoshiEdit

Settledproposal.svg This talk page proposal has already been settled. Please do not edit any of the sections in the proposal. If you wish to discuss the article, do so in a new header below the proposal.

KEEP SPLIT 3-5

I never understood why these two articles aren't one. They're basically the same thing! Ski Yoshi "turns into" Snowball Yoshi when he screws up the skis. Can't we just mention it in the article? They're not two different transformations. Heck, Snowball Yoshi isn't even a transformation in the first place!

SupportEdit

  1. Pyro (talk) - Per the proposal.
  2. New Super Yoshi (talk) Per Pyro.
  3. Coooool123 (talk) It makes sense to merge because they're basically two tiny articles that can relate to each other. Just make the title Ski Yoshi and then make a subheading for transformations.

OpposeEdit

  1. Raven Effect (talk) No one is Yoshi on Skis and the other is Yoshi turned into a snowball. And while they are caused by Yoshi falling while on Skis they are in no way the same for they have different uses.
  2. Commander Code-8 (talk) Per Raven Effect
  3. RandomYoshi (talk) – They are used in different ways. They look different. There is no reason to merge them two.
  4. GreenDisaster (talk) Per all.
  5. LeftyGreenMario (talk) Nope, they deserve their own articles. They function differently.

CommentsEdit

Also your argument about them being basically the same things is flawed after all what is a Paragoomba is it not just a regular goomba with wings is a Dancing Spear Guy not just a Spear Guy who dances Raven Effect (talk)

Merge Snowball Yoshi here... The long awaited sequel.Edit

merge 10-0
Ok, so... What was the opposition's point above all those years back, anyway? This is not a "form", just because he rolls into a snowball does not mean it's a different "form". It's not obtained by an item. It happens when the player messes up and hits an enemy, which causes Yoshi to trip, and subsequently, uncontrollably roll along the slope until, which naturally would lead to get covered by layers of snow. This so-called "form" mostly impedes the player's control, not help them.

SupportEdit

  1. FanOfYoshi (talk) For our next candidate for the BJAODN.
  2. SolemnStormcloud (talk) Per proposal.
  3. Camwoodstock (talk) To be honest, this article in of itself is in a pretty poor shape ("Yoshi dons skis, while Baby Mario is clad in a winter cap sporting his iconic M." ??), and having all this information split haphazardly across two articles is... Not helping matters.
  4. Sparks (talk) Per all. Having two conjectural articles isn't the best thing, so let's reduce that to one.
  5. Mario (talk) Yep, they deserve to be merged. By this article's logic, we should be giving articles to the snowball "form" from Avalanche! (Mario Party 4). Snowball Luigi even has his own dedicated promo art for it!
  6. Super Game Gear (talk) Per FanOfYoshi, Mario, and everyone else.
  7. Arend (talk) I have a feeling these two are only separate in the first place purely because of the existence of the very similar Snowman Wario.
  8. Pseudo (talk) Per all. Definitely a BJAODN situation.
  9. DrippingYellow (talk) This is basically the equivalent of creating an article called Tumbling Mario for the state in Mario Sunshine when he falls for a long period of time.
  10. Remembered Old Buddy (talk) Per all.

☃️❄️Fitting time of the year for this proposal!❄️☃️   It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 14:02, December 1, 2023 (EST)

Of course! This proposal came to my mind while i was switching to my Christmas PFP, and subsequently checking on the Ski Yoshi article, so it's not a coincidence that i happened to start it on Day 1 of December. :D --  FanOfYoshi 14:06, December 1, 2023 (EST)
Ah, I also used a holiday specific sig (at least years ago). To have it change on and off automatically, I use {{#switch:}} and set the dates in the parameters. Check out this revision of my signature[1]. I learned this from other user's sigs, not from my own knowledge of mediawiki coding ha. Yes I believe you can do this for other specific months and even specific days too (like birthday).   It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 15:13, December 1, 2023 (EST)
I do know that Mario jc has that too, so i might think of using it at some point. --  FanOfYoshi 15:17, December 1, 2023 (EST)
