Previously, this article was deleted, and with that, i was wondering... Is there any existing images for this? Master Crash

There was, but that image cannot be restored.--Knife (talk) 22:51, 9 May 2011 (EDT)

Ah, damn. Well, i guess i'll look around and try to find an image. Master Crash

Merge with Shy Guy (toy)Edit

Merge 6-0

This talk page proposal has already been settled. Please do not edit any of the sections in the proposal. If you wish to discuss the article, do so in a new header below the proposal.

Besides the spear that these Shy Guys carry (which is really only an aesthetic thing; they don't actually attack with the spears), there isn't any real difference between these Shy Guys and the rest of the Shy Guy toys in the Mario vs. Donkey Kong series. The thing where they turn into a block reappears in Mini-Land Mayhem! (albeit under slightly different circumstances), so I really fail to see why this gets its own article with such minor differences between the other Shy Guy toys. I feel like this page should be deleted and its contents merged with the main Shy Guy toy page.

Merge with Shy Guy (toy)Edit

  1. Lord Bowser (talk) Per proposal.
  2. AfternoonLight (talk) Consider it done.
  3. Yoshi the Space Station Manager (talk) Yeah, I don't know why this was done. per proposal.
  4. Quizmelon (talk) Per proposal.
  5. Wildgoosespeeder (talk) Per proposal.
  6. Bazooka Mario (talk) I don't even think this deserves a proposal. Anyhow, you got the green light.

Keep as separate pageEdit

CommentsEdit

Shouldn't we also merge Shy Guy (toy) with Shy Guy? It's odd to separate them, the difference is so minor. Bob-ombs are also toys in the series but they do not get their own page. I guess this would also apply to Pokey (toy), Katakata Hakkun, Katakata Kaen Heihō, Phantom Guy. What do you guys think?

I'm not sure that's such a good idea. I think, while being relatively similar, they are still different. Think about it; you wouldn't merge Metal Mario with Mario, would you? Quizmelon (talk) 11:12, 20 September 2016 (EDT)
Hello. I am the one who proposed the merge with Pokey. It basically ended in a tie (but it happened to be a change of name). Just letting you guys know about it.   Yoshi the SSM (talk) 11:51, 20 September 2016 (EDT)
We merge Goombas and Paper Goombas because they're functionally the same. We separate Mario and Metal Mario because they have been established to be different characters. I feel this situation is more similar to the Goomba/Paper Goomba one. But the point is moot since that's not at all what this proposal was about. And YoshiSSM, I saw your TPP after I added the comment above.

This Shy Guy variety has a wind-up feature behind it, suggesting a toy appearance. While Bob-omb happens to have it by default, it doesn't have an official name apart from Bob-omb as far as I know, so it's not as clear-cut whenever this is a toy version or a normal version, further muddled by how we have Bloopers as normal creatures. Whereas Shy Guy did have an official name at some point, "Red Mini Shy Guys", which means they are "Mini Shy Guys".   It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 00:33, 1 October 2016 (EDT)

The color switch change overall makes them just about as different as these games' Pokeys, and that enemy hasn't been separated. Unlike the (Minis March Again! and Mini-Land Mayhem!) Snifits, however, the spear isn't completely aesthetic and actually does have an effect - it'll pass through soft red girder objects. This is almost negligible since you probably won't even notice this unless you deliberately play around in the Construction Zone, though. LinkTheLefty (talk) 20:12, 29 September 2016 (EDT)

even if the spear isn't completely aesthetic, it's still a pretty weak reason to have these shy guys get a separate page, especially when they exhibit near-identical behavior otherwise.   LB (talkeditsforum) 20:44, 29 September 2016 (
