The complete unit is 「マリンパイプの像」 Marin Paipu no Zou, but just the blooper is 「ゲッソーのぞう」 Gessō no Zou. Hence, I'm moving this to Marine Pipe's Statue. This is probably my fault. - 2257(Talk) 22:08, 22 February 2009 (EST)

The BIS enemy box was broken, and I was able to fix it, but it still displays a 'Battled by' section. Can anyone fix that? User:Am AntiHero

European Spanish name

I corrected the Spanish name. The source itself is called Marino Estatua, while the stone Blooper is called Blooperstatua. - Grácovitz.

Split Stone Blooper from this article

don't split 4-6
Yeah, I know what you're probably thinking. "BUT IT'S PART OF THE SEA PIPE STATUE THEREFORE IT SHOULD STAY WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH YOUR LIFE" And while, yes, the Stone Blooper is part of the Sea Pipe Statue, only Bowser fights it as if they're one entity, and Mario and Luigi fight it independently of the statue pedestal. Considering we have Dark Star Core split from Dark Bowser, I'm seeing a similar scenario here, therefore I propose we split these entities as well.

PS: In case you're wondering, the content to be split will only cover the Stone Blooper as it functions independently from the rest of the statue, a.k.a. mainly when Mario and Luigi fight it. Practically everything else will stay here.

Support

  1. Toadette the Achiever (talk) Per proposal.
  2. Ultimate Mr. L (talk) Dark Star Core isn't merged with Dark Bowser, Vacuum Helmet isn't merged with Fawful or Dark Fawful.... Yeah, this is really a no-brainer.
  3. YoshiEgg1990 (talk) Per all.
  4. Niiue (talk) Per all.

Oppose

  1. Yoshi the SSM (talk) More in the same sense of Kretin and Kretin X. The only difference being Sea Pipe Statue isn't made of a lot of Stone Bloopers. And it only is fought by Mario and Luigi.
  2. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) This is one thing with two separate target names. See my comments.
  3. 7feetunder (talk) Per Doc von Schmeltwick.
  4. Yoshi876 (talk) Per Doc's comments below.
  5. TheFlameChomp (talk) Per all.
  6. Owencrazyboy9 (talk) On second thought, I'm changing my mind. Turns out they're both part of a single entity. You can thank the comments for making me oppose instead. Per all and the comments for the opposition below.

Comments

Yeah, I'll get around to Kretin eventually...but this first! Toadette icon CTTT.pngFont of Archivist Toadette's signature(T|C) 23:52, 2 June 2018 (EDT)

I'd say that Mechawful and Mechawful Head should have been your stepping stone, not this. This is a singular entity, as both take damage visibly when just one is hit. Also, your header is more insulting to people who disagree with you than it is to yourself. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 02:42, 5 June 2018 (EDT)
As I said in my first comment, this page is only the start. I have bigger plans for other splits later on, but I find a large number of proposals to be outright overwhelming. While yes, Mechawful should really have been the first stepping stone, the way all these splits happened before were sloppy and disorganized to begin with (besides the pages I already mentioned, Bubble Blooper and Dried Blooper were split before this proposal, so, yeah...). OK, well, I have a more solid rebuttal here now, I've thought it over through my tour of Yellowstone today. Unlike other bosses, with this one if one entity is defeated, they both are at once. With others, it's not like that:
With Dark Fawful and Headgear/Vacuum Helmet, the Headgear can be defeated without Dark Fawful immediately dying. Ergo, they are separate entities.
With Dark Bowser and Dark Star Core, Dark Bowser must be defeated in order to access Dark Star Core, as it must be removed from Dark Bowser after DSC revives the defeated Dark Bowser. Ergo, they are separate entities.
With Bowser Memory ML, the two must be in the "defeated" state at once, as they can revive each other. Ergo, they are separate entities.
With The Sea Pipe Statue and Stone Blooper, if one is defeated, they both are. Ergo, they are the same entity.
Ergo, splitting them does little more than add unnecessary obfuscation. It's basically one target with two separate names, and they don't both do things at once when separate, only the Blooper. And Bubble/Dry Blooper is not comparable, as those are species, while this is an individual boss. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 22:25, 5 June 2018 (EDT)
Except it's the same with Dark Bowser and Dark Star Core; when the Dark Star Core is defeated, Dark Bowser is, too. Toadette icon CTTT.pngFont of Archivist Toadette's signature(T|C) 23:13, 5 June 2018 (EDT)
No, as I just said, Dark Bowser gets defeated and Dark Star Core is still there to revive him. When he slumps over, he's defeated; he just gets restored. Like With Memory ML. Working one way is not the same as going both ways. Also, Dark Bowser and Fawful are definitive differing characters with differing personalities. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 23:18, 5 June 2018 (EDT)
That's not what I meant. Look at my comment again. Toadette icon CTTT.pngFont of Archivist Toadette's signature(T|C) 23:30, 5 June 2018 (EDT)
And that's completely irrelevant. One depending on the other is not the same as them both depending on each other. And DSC and Dark Bowser act separately, given DSC can still move to revive a KO'd Dark Bowser. So it's not the same whatsoever. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 23:43, 5 June 2018 (EDT)
Here, I will help. Dark Star Core started out separate from Dark Bowser. When Dark Bowser got Dark Star Core, he became whole, but they were still separate. You can see this in game when Dark Bowser gets defeated, he is restored. And when punched, Dark Star Core goes away. But, Dark Star Core is still able to restore Dark Star Core. Only when the Mario Bros. defeat him is when Dark Bowser is weak. This is because he isn't whole anymore. Also, Dark Bowser wasn't immediately defeated. Bowser was able to do the final punches real easily. Another thing, Dark Bowser and Dark Star Core have different HP amounts. The Sea Pipe Statue only has one HP amount. As for Bubble Blooper and Dried Blooper, they are separated because they only exist when Bowser drinks water or not. But this is more like the robot-switched Donkey Kong from The Big Switch-A-Roo losing his head but still being able to talk. He doesn't become a separate character when that happens. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 16:30, 6 June 2018 (EDT)

Other point: Does Exor need to be split from the two eyes and the "Neosquid?" They're all apparently separately-thinking beings, since they all have distinct thoughts. The answer, of course, is no, that's absurd. We don't need to have separate articles for Mario's nose and ears, even though they're distinct grabbable implements in the SM64 title screen. My point is: Just because something's vaguely-distinguished, doesn't make it distinct enough to be split without being obfuscative and absurd! Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 01:43, 8 June 2018 (EDT)

As much as that point makes sense, it's actually less relevant here than you'd think. As I already stated from the start, I'll only be covering the Stone Blooper as it's fought by Mario and Luigi; the Stone Blooper as it's fought by Bowser will remain in this article. I don't know, maybe I didn't make that clear enough, but yes, this is how I'll be handling coverage issues. Toadette icon CTTT.pngFont of Archivist Toadette's signature(T|C) 20:55, 12 June 2018 (EDT)
And that's even more pointless. You're essentially splitting Bowser in the Koopa Clown Car or his fancy car from SM3DW from regular Bowser, as you're splitting "rider" from "rider upon mount." Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 21:20, 12 June 2018 (EDT)
Kind of late, but not too late to say this. But, why split Stone Blooper when he's in Bowser and Mario & Luigi fight him but he appears outside the battle. Enemies Bowser inhales aren't split just because they don't fight Bowser. Or effect with stuff outside Bowser when they can't inside. And this is what is different between Dark Bowser and Dark Star Core or Fawful/Dark Fawful and Vacuum Helmet. Dark Star Core and Vacuum Helmet are what Bowser inhales. Not the others on the screen. But even then, the whole battle is against Stone Blooper. The only reason why the page isn't called Stone Blooper is because its the statue appears outside of battle. Um... Rule 10 states: "If a proposal with only two voting options has more than ten votes, it can only pass or fail by a margin of three votes, otherwise the deadline will be extended for another week as if no majority was reached at all." And this does not have more than 10. According to the rules, it passed. Red Yoshi in a construction hat walking Yoshi the SSM (talk) 22:30, 14 June 2018 (EDT)

You were right up until "passed"; it failed. Lucina costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 22:39, 14 June 2018 (EDT)
