I know that this is the multiplayer mode, but does the ScareScraper itself count as a place? Yoshi876 (talk) 16:05, 1 March 2013

I suppose it does, but I don't own the game, so I don't know if it's actually a location. --TucayoSig.png The 'Shroom 11:50, 1 March 2013 (EST)
Guess I'll wait till the game comes out before deciding whether or not to add it into the Places article Yoshi876 (talk)

Scarab Nabber.

It's Beetle Whisperer not Scarab Napper. Hearty_Laughter_by_KokinhoKokeiro.gifKingfawful4321

Not quite, there are regional differences between th European and American versions. In the version the writer has and that I have, it's called Scarab Nabber. I think we'll have to start adding the regional name differences to the Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon pages at some point.

Boss Ghosts

Creating a page for each of the bosses will be pointless, in my opinion. There are five main types of boss ghosts, excluding the Brain, and the rest of the ghosts are just recolors of the previous boss ghosts. What I have in mind is to list the recolors under the main category of the ghosts (i.e. Fright Knights under Bomb Brother, etc) under the Variation header, with these links linking to a redirect that takes the reader to the section that has this boss ghost. This will prevent tens of pages having the same information multiple times. --FREAK ~Game GameBros.png Freak~ OUT!

Can't we just simply create redirects for these links? BabyLuigiFire.png Ray Trace(T|C)
That's what I meant, although I don't think I was clear enough. What I meant was, for example, Fright Knight's redirect being #REDIRECT [[Bomb Brother#Fright Knight]], etc. --FREAK ~Game GameBros.png Freak~ OUT!

Added in some missing ghosts

From my vault so far. However, considering the names and descriptions vary from the US to Europe, what should we do about these? Because the ones I listed are the UK names/descriptions.

Place the other name next to the current one like this, (known as _________ in the PAL/NTSC version). - Cubeguy2ver.pngCubeguy(talk)

Re:American Names

Um..sorry about how disorganized that was...it looked much better while editing.

Nameing solutions

This is pretty simple, just put (Known as _______ in PAL/NTSC versions), ive started doing this already for the names and descripeions not placed. So please if you find more names like this just do what i sugeested. Also if the description is very similar to the other version's description don't add it, only add it if it is completley diffrent, thanks. - Cubeguy2ver.pngCubeguy(talk)

Location change

I don't really think the Scarescraper is in Evershade Valley, it sint specified and seems to be in the same dimension where the Tough Possessor. Should we change it? - Cubeguy2ver.pngCubeguy(talk)

Its located in the Evershade Valley because there are the same ghosts like in the Valley and you can see the Dark Moon in the artwork.

Merge Boss Ghosts into their Respective Articles

Settledproposal.svg This talk page proposal has already been settled. Please do not edit any of the sections in the proposal. If you wish to discuss the article, do so in a new header below the proposal.

Merge them 15-1
Looking through the wiki, I've seen several of the ghosts for the ScareScrapers, notably the recolors of the original five (Bomb Brother, Beetle Whisperer, Terrible Teleporter, Primordial Goo, Creeper Launcher), and they're all pretty much bare. The only notable difference between the other bosses is that they're recolored. They all attack the same and they all have the same HP, nothing changes about them. What I'm proposing to do is merge the recolors into their respective boss ghost articles. Really, I don't want fifty different articles that tell me the same thing. That means simply redirecting them, such as Fright Knight to Bomb Brother#Fright Knight, Sun Flower to Beetle Whisperer#Sun Flower, etc. It may look a little messy at first, but that's not a problem for a few good editors and probably some coding. My apologies if the wording sounds a bit weird.

Lier!!!! WHY DID YOU MAKE THIS!?

Dude calm down. Calling any other user a liar violates Courtesy. Please show some respect, even if Gamefreak75 could be wrong. BabyLuigiFire.png Ray Trace(T|C) 16:12, 13 April 2013 (EDT)
@Pokebub: That is not an acceptable way to vote on a proposal. You need an explicit reason. If you agree with something someone else said but do not wish to repeat it, you can just "per" that person. Mario4Ever (talk)

This is perfectly acceptable. Each boss ghost in Scarescraper does have the same set of attacks and are just palette swapped for each diffrent series. It is easier and quicker to put the palette swaps in the same page as the origional. Technically they should be listed under, Greenie Boss's, or somthing like that as it is about each one as they do have there own descriptions. - Cubeguy2ver.pngCubeguy(talk)

Yeah? I DON'T CARE! THEY DESERVE THEIR OWN PAGES! --Red Boo Artwork of a Red Boo from Mario Party 6 05:32, 14 April 2013 (EDT)
I'm sorry, but this come back is not going to win us to your side. Why do you think they deserve their own pages? Again, everything will STILL be there. It's just that they'll all be in one article. I can even organize a table in those articles, if we have pictures of the enemies. It's nothing to fret over, trust me. BabyLuigiFire.png Ray Trace(T|C) 14:21, 14 April 2013 (EDT)
@--Red Boo: SERIOUSLY!!! I mean, please no trolling. - Cubeguy2ver.pngCubeguy(talk)
That's not trolling. He's just a little upset, but I'm hoping he'll calm down and get used to the fact that it's merged. Sometimes, things happen that I don't like in this site, but I eventually get over it BabyLuigiFire.png Ray Trace(T|C) 20:43, 15 April 2013 (EDT)

I think if Nintendo has given different names means that they are the same ghosts. The Vault keeps itself there into different sections, if we must join them, in my ward we also create sub-pages of the bosses that are merged. However, in my opinion, as I have already said, if Nintendo separates them we must separate ourselves, in other words it is not like Tanooki Mario and Tanooki Luigi who are ultimately the same thing. --Sonic98 (talk) 05:10, 15 April 2013 (EDT)

As i stated earlier, but probably not clearly, when this goes through what will they be listed under is the question? - Cubeguy2ver.pngCubeguy(talk)

Sonic98, do you think there is anything wrong with creating separate sections in the main pages for each ghost instead? This way, we avoid repeating ourselves for several articles, and instead we focus on appearances and ghost container descriptions. I think it's less clunky that way.

I think I confused you meant to say to join the ghosts boss type, join The Brain with the Poltergeist? In this case uniamoli. But in the case of joining Bomb Brother with Greenie or Leoprank with creeper then I disagree. --Sonic98 (talk) 11:22, 16 April 2013 (EDT)

We aren't merging Bomb Brother with Greenie. Bomb Brother is still getting his own article. Same with the Creeper. Just all the Scarescraper boss ghosts will be merged into one Scarescraper boss ghost article BabyLuigiFire.png Ray Trace(T|C) 19:18, 16 April 2013 (EDT)
To clarify what I said, we are merging stuff such as Fright Knight with Bomb Brother, Scars with Beetle Whisperer, and Yukata Ball with Creeper Launcher.

Name Discrepencies

In this Wiki, Spookumber's named Spookcumber, and Aweberry is Awe Berry...when I'm seeing Spookumber and Aweberry in my version of Dark Moon (NTSC). Am I correct or is there some discrepancy of those names between versions? --Zootalo (talk)

I have no idea; I haven't acquired those ghosts yet. But if that's the case, rename the links and the pages and create another redirect for this BabyLuigiFire.png Ray Trace(T|C) 17:08, 28 April 2013 (EDT)
This is most likely due to an over looked spelling mistake by the looks of it. But until other proof can be provided, it'll just have to be left like that. Though to get it on record this may be a glitch in NTSC versions probably, or some errors in several copies. It does happen now and then, just saying. - Cubeguy2ver.pngCubeguy(talk)

The infobox is weird

Can someone remove some of the ghosts in one section of the infobox? it's harder to read it if there is too many. --APA TKB Umbreon, from Pokémon. 14:44, 16 July 2013 (EDT)

The only problem is that it is all necessary, as it needs to list all of the ghosts that appear in the ScareScraper, just like Gloomy Manor, Haunted Towers, Old Clockworks, Secret Mine and Treacherous Manor. Removing some of those ghosts would mean we'd be supplying untrue information. Yoshi876 (talk)

Ghost

I wonder if it is really necessary to hold together some ghosts. In the proposal last year vowed to join them, but now I doubt they are coming. Is it really necessary? Perhaps it would be better to separate them? --Sonic98 (talk) 04:46, 6 July 2014 (EDT)

Is this a mechanic?

I just got into the ScareScraper mode a week or so ago, and have been playing it solo. Once I unlocked it, I tried playing an Endless Hunter game (my mistake), and failed on the first boss, which happened to be the Beetle Whisperer. In the one or two games of 25-floor Hunter I played afterward, (maybe I failed a game before the fifth floor, but got there the next time?) I found the Beetle Whisperer again and successfully caught it. While I thought this was just a lucky coincidence, today, I observed a similar, but more notable occurrence. I had failed two more Endless Hunter fifth floors (I am stubborn), against a Leoprank and some Fright Knights. Frustrated that I failed to catch them, I went to a 25-floor Hunter game to hopefully get something new for my catalogue...and both the Leoprank and the Fright Knights showed up in that very game. Does the game make it easier to find the "ones that got away" again by prioritizing their spawn rate if they are missed? It seems less coincidental when the two ghosts I missed show up in the game I play directly afterward. I had 22 ghosts collected already, and had been running into about two repeats per 4 bosses by that point, so it stands out even more. For what it's worth, the other two bosses in that game were also new, so maybe repeats were overridden? Would someone be willing to investigate this, and with different modes or difficulties? The Primordial Goo was the first boss I fought and failed, on a ten-floorer Hunter, but I didn't see it again for a while, so I don't know how it works. 8BrickMario (talk) 23:30, 15 November 2017 (EST)

Honestly, I highly doubt it. I've played a LOT of Scarescraper, and something even close to this only happened once. It's likely a coincidence. WillowTehKitsune (talk) 13:01, April 6, 2021 (EDT)
