Trivia. Mario-Related or not?[edit]

Read the Trivia. Is it Mario-Related enough or not? My Bloody Valentine ...

We could note that it was his first game, but we could merge the first two sections somehow and cut unrelated stuff. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 08:01, 21 October 2007 (EDT)
Glowsquid removed it all, I have to go, can you fix it up, Cobold? My Bloody Valentine

Should be a disambig page[edit]

This should be a disambiguation page. Roy Koopa, the koopaling, is the "Roy" that's acutally a Mario character. This guy was in a SSB game, which features Mario characters, items and places, but this character himself has little to do with Mario. There should be Roy Koopa and Roy (SSBM). And "Roy" should at least be a disambiguation page. Sprite of the Ruby Star in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door CrystalYoshi Yoshi Egg Sprite.png

And Colonel Roy Campbell. Don't forget him. My Bloody Valentine

Well, that's debatable. We could make the "This article is about bla, if you were looking for bla, go here" thing. The colonel could also have that, as well, possibly. I mean, most people would probably put "campbell" or "colonel" somewhere in the search, rather than just Roy, but we could make a disambig, I suppose. Marcelagus (TCE)

WE have the This article is about whatever" thing already, but I think that since Roy is actually a character from another series, and Roy Koopa is the real "Roy" from Mario, this page should become a disambiguation page. Is it okay if I move this to Roy (SSB) and make a page "Roy" that's a disambiguation page? I'm not sure I know how to do that, and also,l I'd have to do some stuff with redirects, and I have no idea how to do any of that. I think that "from Mario" isn't an automatic guarantee for getting the page first. I moved Ike (dog) to a sub-page when the Smash Bros. Ike was created because Super Show is as important as Smash Bros. here IMO. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 14:39, 21 March 2008 (EDT)
Yes, I was actually about to say, being only in a Mario game doesn't mean the "Real" Roy. First, Roy Koopa has "Koopa" after its name, but Roy only has Roy. It's not like any two "Roy"s have identical names. I think Roy should stay the way it is. Marcelagus (TCE)

Actually, I guess that's true. I'll let is stay the way it is... but partly because I don't even really know how to go about what I wanted to do. Sprite of the Ruby Star in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door CrystalYoshi Yoshi Egg Sprite.png 16:17, 21 March 2008 (EDT)

Well someone moved it and made "Roy" a redirect. That's not what I asked for. I thought a disambig page would be best, since someone searching "Roy" could be either. Sprite of the Ruby Star in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door CrystalYoshi Yoshi Egg Sprite.png

Thanks Plumber and DP. Um... if you click "discussion" on the disambig page, it redirects right here to this talk page. I'll go see if I can fix it. Sprite of the Ruby Star in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door CrystalYoshi Yoshi Egg Sprite.png

Ehhhhh... I wasn't paying attention when I tried to fix that page. ^^; It has been removed. My Bloody Valentine

I took care of it with a tobedeleted template. Sprite of the Ruby Star in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door CrystalYoshi Yoshi Egg Sprite.png 08:18, 29 March 2008 (EDT)

I think....[edit]

This page should be called Roy (Fire Emblem), because that's the series he is from. Yes, he debuted in this game, but it's a crossover. Many characters from many game series show up. But he is from Fire Emblem, and was only included in the game to advertise another Fire Emblem game. Bowser Jr., in Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam.Triple K, Skye 21:31, 7 June 2014 (EDT)

That makes sense to me.--Vommack (talk) 21:36, 7 July 2014 (EDT)
I would disagree because within the confides of the Mario series and this wiki itself he only exsits as a Smash Bros. Character and therefore should be identified as such. Marshal Dan Troop (talk)
I think he should have been kept as Roy (Super Smash Bros. Melee). Sure, he's from Fire Emblem, but Fire Emblem isn't relevant to the Mario series. Roy (Fire Emblem) could probably be a name for his Smash Wiki article if there is another fighter who is not a alternate skin and is named Roy without a surname and is somehow more notable than him. From Mario's point of view, he's just a swordsman he fought in Melee. SeanWheeler (talk) 15:18, 6 November 2014 (EST)
