werent there poison shrooms in mansion?
The preceding unsigned comment was added by Sadaharu (talk).

There are purple Mushrooms that shrink Luigi if he touches them. They act like Poision Mushrooms from Super Mario Kart (but I don't think they are named in Luigi's Mansion). --Son of Suns 15:38, 30 June 2006 (EDT)

It's FANART!Edit

That poison Mushroom on the top is FANART! could someone please replace it? I can't.

??? What one??? Max2 Ok then, what's SMK???

My image below the main one is Lost Levels, Mario Kart, Paper Mario 2. Sorry for any confusion.

Why does it say the poison mushroom is similar to the mini mushroom? It's not, a mini mushroom is a beneficial item (even though it makes Mario vulnerable and weaker) while poison mushrooms are always bad. And do poison mushrooms make mario small in most games, or just a few? They usually just make him take damage. I think that trivia item is misleading.   CrystalYoshi

I'm talking about the poison mushrooms that make you shrink.   Boo der dash

It says that in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga Mario ingested a Poison Mushroom. He actually ingested a Invincishroom which was considered deadly to outsiders. This should be rewritten.

Yes, that's true. I'll delete it. Hey, and don't forget to sign your comments.  Supershroom  + 20 HP! Yeah!

Done, but I've given it a small note. To Mario, it was a fact a poisonous Mushrom  Supershroom  + 20 HP! Yeah!

Merge Rotten Mushroom into this pageEdit

This talk page proposal has already been settled. Please do not edit any of the sections in the proposal. If you wish to discuss the article, do so in a new header below the proposal.

Do not merge 2-13
I had been voting for the awards, and one of the choices for the worst obstacle is "Poison Mushroom/Rotten Mushroom". Likewise, the Rotten Mushroom is given an internal filename that's the same name as the Poison Mushroom: "PoisonKinoko". Perhaps there's a potential to merge the Rotten Mushroom page into the Poison Mushroom page.

  2. CBFan5 (talk) Per proposal

OpposeEdit

  1. Spectrogram (talk) These are two very different "power-ups" that function differently, have a different appearance, and a different in-game name.
  2. Swallow (talk) Per Spectogram, we don't merge distinct subjects just because they're similar, only if there is evidence that they're supposed to be the same.
  3. FanOfYoshi (talk) Per all.
  4. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) - 'Based on in development'=/='the same in finished product.' These are no more similar to each other than either of them are to Zombie Shrooms.
  5. Waluigi Time (talk) Per all, time will likely tell if these are meant to be the same thing or not but for now there's not much in its favor. Also, the decisions for Awards are made with different standards and factors in mind than those used for wiki coverage and should never be used as an argument in a proposal.
  6. Arend (talk) Per all + see comments
  7. Hewer (talk) Though these two mushrooms are obviously related, there is nothing to suggest that they are the same thing. Per all.
  8. MegaBowser64 (talk) PEr ALl
  9. TheFlameChomp (talk) Per all.
  10. Killer Moth (talk) Per all.
  11. PrincessPeachFan (talk) Not related.
  12. ThePowerPlayer (talk) Per all.
  13. Wikiboy10 (talk) Obviously, this proposal is going to fail, but the Japanese name in-game is not the same. Heck, their functions are different too; Rotten follows you while Poison moves more like a traditional enemy.

CommentsEdit

First of all, if the two had to be merged, I feel like we should merge Rotten Mushroom to Poison Mushroom instead of the other way around: the Poison Mushroom appears way more often than the Rotten Mushroom.
Even then, items looking and acting similar while sharing an internal filename is not exactly enough to deem the two as one and the same, I feel. We still have Coin Coffer and Magmaargh separate from Moneybags and Blargg, respectively, for instance.  rend (talk) (edits) 03:39, June 13, 2023 (EDT)

Yeah, we already had this with the Mega/Morty Mole situation. They are not related outside of the internal file names so they do not need to be merged. PrincessPeachFan (talk) 11:06, June 15, 2023 (EDT)

Split Cursed Mushroom?Edit

This talk page or section has a conflict or a question that needs to be answered. Please try to help and resolve the issue by leaving a comment.

The "Cursed Mushroom" in the early Mario Party games appears to be a different, but similar item, akin to Rotten Mushroom above. While it was initially translated as "Poison Mushroom," later translations were more faithful. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 01:09, April 17, 2024 (EDT)
