I find it unlikely that the Petalburg in this game is a reference to the Petalburg in Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum, as I'm pretty sure those games came out later. As much as we all love to find references between various Nintendo games, I think we might have to chalk this one up to Pokemon making the reference instead, or just sheer coincidence. Agreed. I have removed that part.--Knife (talk) 17:35, 2 December 2010 (UTC)

Petalburg was from Ruby and Sapphire, first released in 2002. -- Sir Grodus 23:22, 2 December 2010 (UTC)

Toad Kid[edit]

There is a toad kid near the Save Block that spouts out various Game Boy Advance games. One of them is Fire Emblem, and that was when I started playing this game from the beginning first going into Petalburg. Maybe this kid spouts off other games? Worth noting in the trivia section? --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) 01:03, 28 September 2012 (EDT)

That toad kid also beats Paper Mario and the thousand year door before Mario(player) does which kind of makes a paradox since the toad is in the game which means he(in game) would beat the game before he(player) beats the game thus resulting in an endless loop of him beating the game before he beats the game
