Split Red Pepper, Green Pepper, and Blue PepperEdit

This talk page proposal has already been settled. Please do not edit any of the sections in the proposal. If you wish to discuss the article, do so in a new header below the proposal.

split 9-3
Unlike the case with the Beans, these are actual consumable items in-battle, thus splitting these would arguably be less contentious.

Proposer: Toadette the Achiever (talk)
Deadline: October 14, 2019, 23:59 GMT

SupportEdit

  1. Toadette the Achiever (talk) Per proposal.
  2. Niiue (talk) Separate items with unique names and effects, per proposal.
  3. FanOfYoshi (talk) Per all. They are separate items, are distinguished, and it's not just an aethistic change.
  4. Obsessive Mario Fan (talk) The consumable items are clearly different from other appearances of peppers in the Mario series.
  5. Doomhiker (talk) Arguably the fact that they boost different stats makes them more distinct than other variants of items like Max Cheese. Putting them on the same page is like treating them as the same thing. I also support splitting the beans, but these have even more reason to be split given them being regular items.
  6. 7feetunder (talk) The only thing distinguishing the different kinds of Nuts, Syrup Jars, Drumsticks, etc. is the amount of HP/BP they restore. They even have the same sprite. If those deserve separate articles, so do the peppers.
  7. Waluigi Time (talk) Per all.
  8. bwburke94 (talk) Per all.
  9. TheFlameChomp (talk) I feel that splitting these would be consistent with other split variant items. Per all.

OpposeEdit

  1. TheDarkStar (talk) The only difference between these is that they each boost a different stat. This would just create a bunch of small, near-identical articles.
  2. Lord Grammaticus (talk) This would be a fine article for the colored peppers to redirect to, it's just that the article itself isn't too well put together. Organize it, flesh it out, and then have each named pepper redirect to the article's Mario & Luigi section, and that'll probably be the best solution.
  3. MikhailMCraft (talk) Per all. I feel this becomes the same situation with the bean splitting proposal. Instead of splitting, just improve the main article and expand the respective sections.

#Waluigi Time (talk) Per all. The only split I'd consider going with would be a general "Pepper (Mario & Luigi series)" article, but that's pretty iffy in my opinion.

CommentsEdit

I'm not sure what you're trying to achieve here. Splitting articles just creates more articles to maintain when it could be much easier to expand the main article itself. If you feel you truly cannot expand anymore, then make a proposal, else I feel this will lead nowhere. --MikhailMCraft (talk) 19:19, September 30, 2019 (EDT)

But if they are different items, they should have separate articles. This isn't about maintaining less articles, it's about whether or not the peppers in the Mario & Luigi series are distinct from generic peppers. For example, Hook Guys could easily be covered in the Shy Guy article, which would be less to maintain, but they get separate articles because they are distinct from each other. --DeepFriedCabbage 15:05, October 1, 2019 (EDT)
It seems you completely ignored my first point. Why not just have it on one main article? It's all in one place, and it's easier to find info on it. --MikhailMCraft 15:22, October 1, 2019 (EDT)
See this proposal for clarity.   (T|C) 15:27, October 1, 2019 (EDT)
So then, to my understanding, this proposal shouldn't have to be held, because according to the proposal you linked, it should just be split automatically. --MikhailMCraft 15:36, October 1, 2019 (EDT)
Even though that article dealt with more specific subjects, overall it fully supports the idea of splitting variants of items. I assume beans full under it too. Doomhiker (talk)  15:44, October 1, 2019 (EDT)
Alright, then cancel this proposal and just create the separate pages. --MikhailMCraft 15:48, October 1, 2019 (EDT)
If this proposal passes, will we have to revisit the Bean thing? I hope so. --  FanOfYoshi 12:20, October 13, 2019 (EDT)
Why would we re-visit the Bean proposal? This proposal is a completely separate from that one, and the Bean proposal was already cancelled. --MikhailMCraft (talkcontribs) 14:28, October 14, 2019 (EDT)
No, I think FoY actually has a point there - both the split-off Peppers and many of the beans listed on their article are items used in RPGs, so it would be more logical to treat those the same way. The Bean issue may be worth revisiting, though the discussion should be used to refine any future proposals on the matter prior to actually making them. --  Lord G. matters.   07:45, October 22, 2019 (EDT)
