Does the level editor for Mario Maker 2 not refer to them anything in particular? --  Lord G. matters.   20:11, January 19, 2020 (EST)

No, it doesn't distinguish it with a different name from "Conveyor Belt" like certain other element variations in the game.   Mario JC 20:49, January 19, 2020 (EST)
Months later, but page 203 of the New Super Mario Bros. 2 Prima guide just refers to it as a "conveyor belt", page 201 Encyclopedia Super Mario Bros. groups it together with the regular conveyor belt (having the "ON/OFF" type as its second picture, though it does leave the switch separate), and it's internally the same beltconveyor object. The Conveyor Belt's page has images of the ON/OFF Conveyor Belt. They're called "red and blue conveyor belts".  DarkNight  00:07, August 14, 2020 (EDT)
Conveyor Belts that can switch direction also appear in Wario Land and Mario vs. Donkey Kong games. LinkTheLefty (talk) 12:59, August 14, 2020 (EDT)
Play Nintendo's guide calls them "conveyor belts" as well. Axis (talk) 11:38, July 17, 2023 (EDT)
Then i'd say we merge. --  FanOfYoshi 08:20, July 22, 2023 (EDT)
As pointed out above, this is not the only game they appeared in. So no. Axis (talk) 08:54, July 22, 2023 (EDT)
If it doesn't demand a merge, the article has to be renamed to something like "conveyor belt (ON/OFF)" regardless. LinkTheLefty (talk) 10:48, July 22, 2023 (EDT)
The only other game its in also doesn't classify them uniquely though, otherwise the name wouldn't be conjectural. This article should either be merged into conveyor belts, or be renamed and expanded to include all instances of direction-switching conveyors.--PopitTart (talk) 17:10, October 31, 2023 (EDT)

This article doesn't make sense to meEdit

ON/OFF Conveyor Belt covers an object that allegedly appears in two games. In New Super Mario Bros. 2, it's a conveyor belt that switches direction when a yellow switch is pressed. In Super Mario Maker 2, it's a conveyor belt that switches direction when an ON/OFF Switch is pressed. Why do these two things get a specific article? They are FAR from the only instances of direction-switching conveyor belts, Mario vs. Donkey Kong as a prime example. Why is it excluded? One of the two listed instances isn't controlled by ON/OFF Switch, so why is it even considered an ON/OFF Conveyor Belt?? I strongly feel like the article needs to be completely rewritten into a list of every direction-switching conveyor, or be merged into Conveyor Belt outright.--PopitTart (talk) 01:06, November 4, 2023 (EDT)

Switching directions is kind of a given common feature for conveyor belts, so maybe this should just be merged to the conveyor belt article.   It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 01:30, November 4, 2023 (EDT)
