Delete page 14-1
The recent proposal allows the coverage of distinctly Mario aspects of guest appearances. Monita has nothing to do with Mario. She is a generically unique character created for Nintendo Land, and nothing more. She doesn't have anything to do with the Mario franchise, nor more than she does The Legend of Zelda or Pikmin or any of the other franchises represented in the game. Like the Arcade Bunny, she does not deserve an article on the wiki.

The simple explanation is that Super Smash Bros. is a crossover (therefore we cover everything within the game), whereas Nintendo Land is a guest appearance (therefore we only cover the Mario aspects in dedicated articles). And no need to shout. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 17:16, 5 January 2018 (EST)

Basically what Time Turner said, they beat me to it, and explained it better than I would've. Also, what I said was only my opinion. I put "seems" as to me, that is what it appears to be. Good morning!

Apparently this page was deleted due to a proposal, so I was told I'd need to make a new one in order to have it reinstated, as it does actually follow the current wiki guidelines.

First of all, who's Monita? She's a host of Nintendo Land, and she appears in multiple minigames not just as a character that gives hints, but as a hazard or as a helper: she plays a role in Luigi's Ghost Mansion: she plays on the side of ghost trackers and is able to damage the ghost or alert the players about the ghost. She also always appears in the stage 5, the rooftop. It has no walls, so Monitas serve as a way to detect the ghost (and yes, these robots in Ghostly Mansion are called "Monita" too). Should we really remove a page just because she also appears outside of this minigame?

So, what should we do? I propose two ways this can be handled:

1. - Monita's page gets reinstated, only her role in Mario-related minigames gets coverage (only Luigi's Ghostly Mansion, though her "List of Monita quotes" page may contain her hints for other Mario-related games). Two or three lines about her overall role in the game are acceptable.

2. - Monita's page gets reinstated, full coverage about her role in the whole game. I don't think this is the right way to handle it, but this is (pretty much) how the page was before it was deleted.

Hewer (talk) I was inclined to support this at first, but then I remembered that the coverage policy forbids articles on subjects from guest appearances unless they are distinctly derived from Mario, which Monita isn't. Doing this would require us to reclassify Nintendo Land as a crossover, which would in turn require us to make articles on all the other Nintendo-themed minigames with no relation to Mario, so I think the better choice would be to just cover Monita's role in the Luigi's Ghost Mansion article and call it a day.
2. RHG1951 (talk) Per Hewer and the fact that beyond Luigi's Ghost Mansion, Monita only has a minimal role in the other Mario attractions.
3. ThePowerPlayer (talk) Per Hewer and RHG1951. Even if this didn't imply full coverage for Nintendo Land, the article would only contain information about her appearance in Luigi's Ghost Mansion and little to no information about her appearances in the other Mario attractions (since her role is so minimal).
4. Shadow2 (talk) No, we already have way too many articles for non-Mario characters, we don't need more.

Good day Hewer (talk), why do you think it would require us to classify this as a crossover? Noone wants to do it, the whole point is Monita plays a big role in a minigame that is a subject to full coverage on this wiki. If Monita didn't play a role in this minigame, there wouldn't be a reason to create an article about her. Spectrogram (talk) 08:10, August 15, 2022 (EDT)

Like I said in my vote, making a Monita article without classifying Nintendo Land as a crossover would go against the coverage policy, and I don't think her role is big enough for it to be worth us re-classifying the game rather than just talking about her role in the articles we already have.
