JP NameEdit

So, I know this page got split from Mechakoopa a while back, but I was digging around some Japanese sources and saw that the Japanese name, "Mini Mechakoopa", was used to refer to the normal Mechakoopas in Mario Party 7, at least on this page. Does anyone know if there are any other examples of this name being used for normal Mechakoopas? BubbleRevolution (talk) 04:49, November 6, 2019 (EST)

So, I'm not sure how this got overlooked for so long, but I just want to say it definitely warrants further investigation. My impression was that "Micro" Mecha-Bowser was in relation to the Toy Time Galaxy robot, but I may have to rethink that notion. LinkTheLefty (talk) 16:42, March 4, 2022 (EST)

Re-merge to MechakoopaEdit

This talk page proposal has already been settled. Please do not edit any of the sections in the proposal. If you wish to discuss the article, do so in a new header below the proposal.

Merge 4-0
So, as mentioned above, turns out the "unique" JP name for these fire-breathing clockwork frog things is actually an alternate name for Mechakoopas themselves, likely created to distinguish from Sunshine's Mecha-Bowser (at least until NSMBW clean-swept the name back, with SMG2's usage just being an artifact). Anyways, this should be merged back to Mechakoopa since this is just a wacko depiction of them, but following the merge I will most likely be moving forward on proposing on how to deal with the various giant Mecha-Bowsers.

SupportEdit

  1. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) - Per
  2. LinkTheLefty (talk) - Per above and my take here, I no longer stand by my previous proposal and now believe that Pia was right about this one, as several "exclusive" traits such as fire breath can also be seen in spinoff appearances.
  3. Archivist Toadette (talk) Per my previous argument. It's clear that these are just a shoddy redesign of Mechakoopas.
  4. Tails777 (talk) Per all.

CommentsEdit

Super Mario Galaxy generally has weird enemy inconsistencies, though, such as the Tweesters, Rocky Wrenches, and Swoops all having separate articles from their regular counterparts, but this enemy has a different name from Mecha Koopa as well. What makes this enemy difference from them and more similar to the likes of the Torpedo Ted?   Ray Trace(T|C) 00:14, April 23, 2022 (EDT)

Mario Party 7 uses the same JP name for Mechakoopa. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 00:23, April 23, 2022 (EDT)
