Insect?
Are these guys considered insects? Their name suggests that they are, but they sure don't look very insect-like... They have those antennae... --YellowYoshi398 16:12, 16 February 2007 (EST)

Their name implies that they're bugs. Hello, I'm Time Turner.
- Their Japanese name (「ころがりくん」korogari-kun) doesn't, neither does their German name, or any official information. They shouldn't be classified as insects just because of their English name imo.--vellidragon 17:07, 21 January 2010 (EST)

- They're isopods! Isopods are a type of crustacean, not a type of insect! Sure, both are arthropods, but it's like generalizing that frogs and humans are both reptiles because they're chordates, when neither of them really are! --CompliensCreator (talk) 23:56, 25 July 2018 (EDT)
- That's a conversation from 8 years ago. Anyways, please note that they're called Melon Bugs, which would at least imply that they're insects, if not specifically of order Hemiptera. Admittedly, "Sow Bug" and "Pill Bug" are common names for certain isopods, but that's a bit beside the point. There's also no source outright stating that they are isopods, they might just be similar. After all, scorpions have a similar body structure to lobsters, and they're completely different types of arthropods themselves. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 00:13, 26 July 2018 (EDT)

Advance 3 Shogakukan description:
近づくと玉になって転がってくるが、ふれても痛くないし、タマゴで倒すこともできる。食べてはき出せば、敵を倒しながら転がって行くぞ。
My translation:
Approaching makes it roll into a ball and although it comes, its touch isn't even harmful, but an egg can defeat it. If eaten and exhaled, it will defeat enemies while rolling forward.
