Systems?

I just saw the "news flash" via press release -- it is targeted for both the Wii and DS. As well as the official title for it. I'll do necessary adjustments here.

Actually the Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games official website confermed wii and Ds. Also Donkey Kong and Metal Sonic are confirmed characters, the only events confirmed are ice hockey, bobsled, speed skating, and i think figure skating is in there. Avsrok22 (talk)

Playables characters

The French Nintendo magazine confirmed tha the seven Sonic characters and the seven Mario characters will be playable. Ther's also a rumor that the 3 mascots of the olympic games of Vancouver may also be playable. However, my magazine failed in the water and so I can't scan it. Should we add this info or not ? The only mascot I can think of is a whale for Vancouver, we don't really have that many sports, mainly just hockey. But, is your magazine really damp? Did the ink get erased off it? You can try and upload it if you want. Super-Yoshi^{Talk? C???}

The mascots are these; from left to right: Sumi, part Orca ("Killer Whale"), part Thunderbird, part Black bear; Quatchi, a sasquatch ("Big Foot"); and Miga, part bear, part Orca. They're all from First Nations mythology, with the sasquatch being the only mainstream entity. The picture appears on that site just because blablabla uploaded it here first. There isn't any confirmation if this picture is valid. There are new artworks of Team Sonic, and looking on them, they confirm two new sports.

Blaze Artwork = Biathlon and Eggman Artwork = Curling

I think Biathlon will be really fun! Don't know about curling, it's boring in the real life, so.. yeah.

I see fake. First, The emblem should be a star (almost seen in Mario Kart Wii) but this is a faceless Luma. Second, part of the flag (the left side) shows a sharp border unlike Tails' flag, unsharp. More Characters to Come?

On the official website, more icons for Bowser Jr. Silver, Daisy, Shadow etc. with all the character information has appeared, but at the bottom it still says, "More Coming Soon!" Well, Wario/Waluigi and Vector/Eggman aren't on the character information... So, I guess they are the last ones. Maybe two more, but that's it. User:Charmander

I'd say four more because if there is only two more, the number of Mario/Sonic characters in any two categories would be unbalanced. Here's what I mean:

• Mario characters: Donkey Kong (Power), Bowser Jr. (All-Around), ???? (Speed), ???? (Skill)

-In all fairness, being balanced doesn't require that the seperate teams have the same amount of each type. It just means that there are the same of each type altogether (5, as it seems to be) and that the team numbers are balanced (10 to a team, in this case). I doubt about it. If I read at Wii experience at Shopping, I also see a "Secret Shop" in the list. It's possible that, in the Wii version, some characters must be unlocked by buying them... Like in Mario Party 7. But it's possible as well that sports or music must be bought. rend (talk) (edits)

Boo, Dry Bowser, Rouge and Jet all appear in the Wii Festival Mode. -Other characters appear via special costumes that are available for Miis to wear. Some are of existing characters, like Sonic and Mario, but more no shows include Dry Bones, Charmy and...Fire Mario and Super Sonic?! Oh, and Big the Cat. -The Dream Events are confirmed to have music from past Mario and Sonic games. Some can also be brought from a shop to be purchased from. (This is also where you get the costumes) -You can also purchase to put stickers on a character's board, for example, World 1-1 of Mario and also stickers of characters like Cream the Rabbit. -Dream Ski Jumping takes place in Good Egg Galaxy from Super Mario Galaxy.

Look, we need some Mario Characters of Speed and Skill and Sonic characters of All-Around & Power. If Birdo was in, she would be All-Around, meaning there must be not 4 or 8 new playables, but 16, making the roster double as much as in Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games. I was thinking that Diddy Kong will be playable as Speed, and Big the Cat is for Power, but as Skill, I was doubting between Mona and Rosalina. If Mona was in, the All-Around Sonic character would be Marina the Racoon, but if Rosalina goes instead, Tikal is going to be the all-around character. If both Mona and Rosalina aren't in, and, for example, Boo is the character, the All-Around Character could be Jet the Hawk. In other word, we don´t know yet. rend (talk) (edits)

Good Egg Galaxy & Bowser's Castle

Ok. Let me start out with saying this: "Where were Bowser's Castle and Good Egg Galaxy confirmed?" I have googled Bowser's Castle and Good Egg Galaxy on Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games and found pretty much nothing! I know some say that they've seen this in some Nintendo magazine but how do we really know it's true? How do we know that this wasn't made up on the internet (or is it really in an offical nintendo/sega magazine that you can buy?) How do we actully know that both courses will be in the game? Nintendo Powers Review

Nintendo Power gave the Wii Version of the game a 7.0.

Controls being a issue, but not a big issue (except for the Wii Balance Board, which they say avoid at all cost when going for gold)

Also the Mii Customizing was said to be useless to them, due to Mario's Overalls.

And that the Wii Balance Board isn't terrible but it can be hard to win with. Several Characters Confirmed!

The official site (French and British versions, at least) has updated with a new trailer, showing off Wii bosses. New bosses featured are Omega, Eggman Nega and a Bullet Bill, while Dry Bowser is shown as a hockey player and presumed captain of a team of Dry Bones. -There's a new DS trailer on the Aerican site. It shows that the Wii bosses are also present in Adventure Tours, and that the chests seen are the mini-game portals.

-New screenshots show a stage based on Nocturnus (from Sonic Chronicles). SSMB, one of the posts

- A video of dream figure skating is up, and it is...rather extreme, with Green Hill Zone, Death Egg (Sonic 2) Zone, Station Square, Perfect Chaos as a boss, and Rouge confirmed to appear in the game. See all the busy crud, here.

Game Secrets/Unlockables

Ok, so the game is almost out. (It comes out on Octorbor 13th...am I right?)And of course, (in the game) there will be unlockable dream events (confirmed) unlockable characters (probably...maybe not) and other unlockable content. Instead of writting everything (unlockable) down on the page where everyone can see it, I think that we should first disscuss the secret unlockable content on the talk page first. This will ensure that no fake info is released on the page like: Birdo is an unlockable character!....and then she turns out not being unlockable and we've fooled people who read that she is. (I'm not saying that she won't be in the game, I'm just showing an example) If everbody writes down what they think is unlockable the page will be messed up with true and untrue info. It will be a huge mess. That's why I think we should confirm it here on the talk page first before we put it on the actual page to ensure that no fake info is put on. Do you get what I'm saying? I just found out about VIP, with it a certain character will appear on a certain course, Birdo on Dream Ski Jump and Big the Cat on Dream Ski Cross just to name a few. VIP characters

According to the Wii version, there are only 6 VIP characters. Pianta, Birdo, Penguin, Cream, Big, and Chaos. I received an emblem for finding all of the VIP characters and those (plus Santa) were the only ones I saw. Are these other characters in the DS version or something? Certain DS Dream Event articles don't need it. They should be on the article with it's Wii Dream Event like Ski Cross Racing is with Dream Ski Cross and Curling Bowling is with Dream Curling and others should include Extreme Snowboarding being with Dream Snowboard Cross.
