Why isn't there a under construction tag here if it's under construction? And There are missing characters like Princess Toadstool and more.F gLarrynana.gif

It's only under construction if a user is continuosly working on the page for a period of time. Currently, no one seems to be working on it. I think you mean the stub template is needed on this page. Knife (talk) 14:21, 26 October 2008 (EDT)

Eventual Split

When the time comes, should we split this page into cartoon and live action quotes? Not right now of course, but eventually there will be so many, it will be too much. I'm thinking "List of The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! cartoon quotes" and "List of The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! live action quotes", or something like that. Needs a split

It's the second biggest page in the wiki at the time of this writing. This page does not need to have every quote for every character from this show. Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 17:35, July 22, 2022 (EDT)

Could start with splitting off Mario, Luigi, Toadstool, Toad and Koopa into their own articles. That would cut it down immensely. Little Mouser.PNGPaper Jorge (Talk·Contribs)
"This page does not need to have every quote for every character from this show." - why not? This page is literally to document quotes from the show, what's the harm in collecting most of the quotes from the show?
Also, afaik, our policy is that list pages are exempt from the article size policy and aren't typically split to cut down on size. S o m e t h i n g o n e ! A Big Bandit from Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. 18:54, July 22, 2022 (EDT)
We have to tread a line between being a script dump and an encyclopedia. You should pick quotes you think help illustrate the character and maybe give a good idea of the general sort of show we're dealing with.
Lists may be exempt from article size policy but I think it's a legitimate concern that this page is unnecessarily massive. We should be trimming when we can (and should, policy might just need to catch up), as we have split List of favored and favorite courses in Mario Kart Tour, which was a page at a far unacceptable size at a gigantic 1,126,060 bytes; this one is 582,434 bytes; it's enormous for a page with minimal images and wiki formatting. I still don't think the quote quantity or quality is an issue, but that's a bigger issue for another time. As for the favored and favorite courses page, that honestly should have had a tiny bit of discussion on the idea before it happened but regardless I think that's not comparable to this; not only was that page more than twice the size of this one, but it was chock full of images, templates, parameters, and coding jam-packed into every piece of it. This page is just bulleted text. S o m e t h i n g o n e ! A Big Bandit from Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. 10:28, July 30, 2022 (EDT)
There was discussion going on in our forums about these huge pages[1] and possibly our Discord, but yeah to be fair, not every editor uses these two (though I do recommend at least checking them every now and then). I do think the Tour page is on a way worse situation, but I maintain it's a considered a list too and I try to challenge the idea that lists are exempt from page splits. This is a simpler bulleted list, but it can still benefit from a split in my opinion. Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! I think the whole issue of quotes pages in general warrants some scrutiny. I've always found them bloated. The problem is that we don't really have any policy regarding quotes pages, so people just kinda document every little quote, no matter how insignificant it is. Is "What's that?" really worth noting? Not really. Granted, restricting the quotes pages to only "notable" or "illustrative" quotes does introduce some subjectivity, but if we don't draw a line somewhere, then we might as well just have full on script dumps, since the quotes pages as-is aren't far off from that. I suppose for more coherent interjections, it doesn't hurt to have them all, but as with our screenshots and whatnot, it's worth picking out some illustrative quotes and discarding the rest. We certainly should remove "What's that?", and "This will be the last time those pinhead plumbers throw a monkey wrench into MY evil plans!" can stay. Icon showing how many lives Mario has left.
