There are 11 versions of this level, one per character[edit]

So I am just playing this game on 3DS, and every time you scan a new amiibo figure, it prompts you if you want to see a "tutorial level" of that character. I think that no prompt appears for Mini Spek, but for the rest it does. Anyways, the tutorial levels for each of the 10 characters are all covered in this level, in Level 1, as the score for any of them is saved as the score for Level 1. And when reentering Level 1 with any character, that tutorial level for that character appears, so the tutorial Level for that character = the variation of Level 1 for that character. Mini Spek also has its own exclusive variation of Level 1, so while a prompt to play its tutorial level does not appear, this mini does have its own version of Level 1 if you play the level by selecting it on the overworld map. If you play any version of each character, be it by accessing the level by the world map or through the prompt by scanning the amiibo for the first time, the score of each of them are saved in "Level 1".

So like, if you play Level 1 with Mario, and then play it with Luigi, you will play a different level with a different layout, though if you get a high score with Luigi, it will be saved overally on "Level 1" and replace the one you got with Mario. If you then play Level 1 again with Peach, you will play another third different level with a different layout, but if you don't beat the high score that you got with Luigi, the Luigi high score will be the one that remains saved, and so on with the other 8 minis. So, what is "Level 1" on the world map displays 1 of 11 different level layouts which depend on which of the 11 minis you enter it with, but even though they are different layouts, the score that you get in any of them are saved together in "Level 1".

I then played Level 2 with Yoshi, Spek and Donkey Kong and with all three the level layout was the same, so it seems that the only Level whose layout changes depending on the character is just Level 1, though I don't know for sure as I just tested it with these two levels. The image that is currently in the wiki is only of the Mario version, and the text alludes like only that version exist, but as I said, actually other 10 version exist but all share the same Level spot. Do we create one page per version, or do we just expand this page to cover all 11 versions? Maybe the latter is more worthwhile, as the game itself treats all 11 as the same level, plus that they are overally short and don't have so notable things between each other. I think that the only one that has something anything else than red girders are the Bowser and Yoshi versions. Still, just pointing out all of this seeing that the wiki doesn't mention this stuff at all currently. So, do you vote on expanding this page, creating one per level, or what? -Kirbeat (talk) 20:28, June 16, 2023 (EDT)

If the layout/progression is extremely similar between versions and only slightly adjusted to accommodate a character's ability, then a statement in the lead paragraph along the lines of the following would suffice: "this level has several different versions, each with the same basic layout but with minor differences to suit the ability of the toy currently in use".
However, if the layout changes drastically, then I'd say the article should have sections overviewing each layout individually, with the corresponding character's name used as a heading. I don't think the amount of information would be so big as to warrant splitting the page. -- KOOPA CON CARNE 18:50, June 16, 2023 (EDT)
The layouts are completely different, but they are pretty small, so the differences aren't so notable. Plus, they all have the exact same number of coins, which means that the basis of the score is the exact same between them (the enemies and blocks in Yoshi's and Bowser's levels don't give extra points). I took screenshots of each one before doing anything in the level, here are the top screen of all of them which displays the full level, so judge for yourself: Spek Mario DK Peach Toad Luigi Bowser Rosalina Yoshi DD Jr. I am not up to writing right now, but if someone wants to change the article and want pictures of each layout, you can upload here those ones that I linked and source them to me.
A small notable thing that I didn't test before is that, in any of the normal levels, if you pause mid-level you can swap the amiibo, which resets the level but swaps the character with the new one that you inputted without going back to the map (in the character exclusive world you can't swap amiibos mid-level). In this Level 1, if you do that, not only you change to the other character, but the actual level does change to the one of the other character. So yeah, the game does treat these things as the same level, so I would treat them as "layouts" of the same level, instead of different levels. -Kirbeat (talk) 20:28, June 16, 2023 (EDT)
