Can anyone identify the species-Pal101

I haven't played the game in a while, but I thought it was some sort of ghost and that there was only one of it, not a whole species. -- Sir Grodus

There were 2 actually-Pal101

Oh, well, I still think it was a snake-like ghost of some kind. -- Sir Grodus

Yeah I'll add that to the article.-Pal101

SAME AS GOBBLEGUT?

i was playing super mario galaxy 2, and Gobblegut kinda looks like Bowsers pet, so is it the same creature? Correct me if im wrong... And if they are the same, you should put that in bowser Jrs, Gobbleguts, and bowsers pet trivia.

Name

For future reference, the only reference to the pet I could find on the (archived) YS site is this: "You'll have to battle the big bully twice: once when he's riding a sneering green ghost, and again after he's been de-ghosted." That at least tells us it's a ghost, but I don't think that works for a name. Hello, I'm Time Turner.

The player's guide also calls it a ghost: "The final scene in Yoshi's Story will unfold with Baby Bowser riding a ghost across the upper reaches of the castle [...]." Hello, I'm Time Turner. 18:19, 20 July 2017 (EDT)

ghost rider

While looking through the wiki pages, I noticed that these resemble Ghost Riders from the same game. so wouldn't it be a species of ghost rider? they seem to behave the same, except Baby Bowser rides these ones.Pikmin theories (talk) 21:10, 14 March 2018 (EDT)

That would be conjecture, as the faces are nothing similar. At least, I think it would be. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 21:42, 14 March 2018 (EDT)

Conjecture?

You mean that only Japanese names are valable for character in which no official english name was found? --83.156.220.80 10:50, 23 August 2018 (EDT)

That would be {{another language}}, in which something has a non-English name, but not an English one. {{conjecture}} is used when there's no name to use at all, so one is fittingly created. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 11:07, 23 August 2018 (EDT)
Yes, but there is clearly a German name. I guess it doesn't count. Am i right? --83.156.220.80 11:17, 23 August 2018 (EDT)
It would, but where it comes from is unknown. But once a proper source for the name is added, it can be used, yes. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 11:18, 23 August 2018 (EDT)

Does the Shogakugan briefly give them a mention, or aren't mentioned at all? --Green Yoshi FanOfYoshi 13:54, 1 March 2019 (EST)

「オバケ」 (Obake) on page 123, in the first sentence and first caption regarding Baby Koopa. It's pretty generic, but better than nothing. LinkTheLefty (talk) 06:39, 2 March 2019 (EST)
It is written in Katakana, so is it a proper noun, or is it when it is in Hiragana that it is not a proper noun? Hiragana is much harder than Katakana. --Green Yoshi FanOfYoshi 06:41, 2 March 2019 (EST)
Not necessarily, it could also just be used for emphasis. It can go either way here. LinkTheLefty (talk) 06:48, 2 March 2019 (EST)
Also, it should be mentioned that the official website and Player's Guide (pg. 128, "Closing the Book on Baby Bowser") both use "ghost" to refer to it. In the latter, under The Climax: "The final scene in Yoshi's Story will unfold with Baby Bowser riding a ghost across the upper reaches of the castle while Bob-ombs parachute to the ground and explode seconds later." And then, under The Conclusion: "After you blast the brat three times, Bowser’s ghosts will flee from the scene leaving the Koopa permanently grounded." So that leads me to believe that it's intended to be generic, but it's at least fairly consistent across sources. LinkTheLefty (talk) 09:01, 2 March 2019 (EST)
Found something: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/D6csikwUYAAFwTW.jpg:large It's kinda unhelpful, as it's not a proper scan, but i don't think there is a name next to it. Can you read the description for me? --Green Yoshi FanOfYoshi 06:30, July 13, 2019 (EDT)
