Alternate Dimension?

Just wondering what the source is for the Factory being located in a different dimension to the main Mario Universe, rather than it being on a different planet or just inside Exor. Thanks.--Seandwalsh (talk) 15:38, March 23, 2019 (EDT)

Despite the world map apparently calling it "Gate" and Save Block calling it "Factory", Shogakukan attempts to differentiate between the two by considering the main outdoor area "The Weapons' World" (or Gate) and the end corridor area "The Factory". How should that affect our coverage, if at all? LinkTheLefty (talk) 23:00, July 7, 2020 (EDT)

This is interesting, I'd always assumed "Gate" referred to Exor's portal, not the mechanical hellgraveyard thing beyond. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 02:20, July 8, 2020 (EDT)
I double-checked the game, and it does seem to interpret things that way - "Gate" is what shows up when you select Exor on the world map, but no matter where you are in it, it is labeled as "Factory" when you select the in-game menu map just like on the save file. I guess the outdoor area supposed to be an extension of the main factory, since there are many conveyor belts and Machine Mades. So now I'm leaning towards just mentioning that Shogakukan distinguishes between the areas differently as trivia since it is somewhat contrary to how it is in-game. EDIT: Then again, certain notable locations like Melody Bay and Belome Temple are represented as "Tadpole Pond" and "Land's End" via the in-game menu map, so it could just be indicating that the Factory is the greater location of the Gate/World, not intended to be used interchangeably...
