Hey capes and cloaks are a type of loose garment clothing. I think capes and cloaks are also worn by other characters and dark figures like Count you know who. The Count that summons but latter stops the Chaos Heart.(Super F22 Pilot 04:53, 8 December 2007 (EST))

And, where are you going with this? My Bloody Valentine

I don't know but I got the feeling that other members of the Mario Universe also wear Capes like Count Bleck and Ganondorf.(Super F22 Pilot 05:05, 8 December 2007 (EST))

Well, that's not really relevant. Unless the capes, ya know, do something, they have no place on this article. My Bloody Valentine I know Ganondorf's cape does nothing (at least, in the SSB series), but what about Count Bleck?

Blecks clothing kinda looks like a top hat and a cape because he said you can't touch the cape of Count Bleck in the Boss Battle.(Super F22 Pilot 05:19, 8 December 2007 (EST))

I asked, does his Cape do anything in Super Paper Mario? Does it have any special powers? Does Count Bleck use it at any point? My Bloody Valentine
I think he uses it to deflect attacks. Tadaa!2.gifPlumberTadaaa!.gif 08:43, 8 December 2007 (EST)

Hey doesn't the cape also appear in super Mario maker?Edit

It does , we need a section for it. 72.221.100.157 14:26, 11 February 2017 (EST)

Yes, you're right. I added a section for it. -- TheFlameChomp (talk) 14:39, 11 February 2017 (EST)

Clean up this article to include only information in the Super Smash Bros. seriesEdit

This talk page proposal has already been settled. Please do not edit any of the sections in the proposal. If you wish to discuss the article, do so in a new header below the proposal.

clean up 4-1
This is all I have to say: Why do we need to cover anything other than the Super Smash Bros. series move seeing as how everything else on this page is redundant to the Cape Mario and Superstar Mario articles?

Proposer: Toadette the Achiever (talk)
Deadline: March 14, 2018, 23:59 GMT

SupportEdit

  1. Toadette the Achiever (talk) Per my proposal.
  2. Waluigi Time (talk) Per proposal. I know we have an article on Fireballs, but aside from Fire Mario, they're used by several enemies and are items in sports games without the Fire Flower. In this case, outside of Smash the cape doesn't do anything that can't be covered on the Cape/Superstar Mario articles.
  3. Baby Luigi (talk) I'm mostly on the fence with this but I'm leaning on support after reading the arguments made. I think we can safely get rid of redundant history information in the history section and summarize that in a sentence or two in the opening paragraph while devoting the rest of the article on the cape's appearance segregated from the item and power-up, which isn't very much as stated in the proposal itself.
  4. MarioManiac1981 (talk) Some articles have too much overlapping information with each other. Let's pin one of them down. Per all.

OpposeEdit

  1. FanOfYoshi (talk) Per my comments.

CommentsEdit

The reason why are we covering it is that it has an official name in both English and Japanese. --  FanOfYoshi 11:52, 28 February 2019 (EST)

Aaaaaaaannnnnnndddd...what doesn't make that worth covering on the Cape Mario article?   (T|C) 12:04, 28 February 2019 (EST)
We are covering every power ups that appear in this game into their own section. --  FanOfYoshi 12:05, 28 February 2019 (EST)
*Ahem*... About that...   (T|C) 12:07, 28 February 2019 (EST)

The only thing I can think of the makes this worth keeping are the alternate names the Cape has, names that aren't used in Super Smash Bros. They wouldn't fit well on Cape Feather or Cape Mario. And we have other power-up related articles like Fireball.    12:13, 28 February 2019 (EST)

Not everything is relevant to Cape Mario since some of it is about Superstar Mario or its use as an icon in general. LinkTheLefty (talk) 12:14, 28 February 2019 (EST)

Changed accordingly.   (T|C) 12:48, 28 February 2019 (EST)

Waluigi Time: What do you think about the overlap between Superball and Superball Mario?   It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 21:00, 28 February 2019 (EST)

I don't think the Superball article is really necessary, especially since it has never been relevant outside of that one usage, and the power-up's only trait is firing the Superballs. Heck, I'd dare argue that the Cape is more deserving of an article than the Superball. Comparing the two Superball-related articles, Superball Mario's article actually seems kind of lackluster and needs more detail; the paragraph that talks about what the Superball does on its own article alone is longer than the entire Superball Mario article. Depending on how this goes, I may propose merging them. --  Too Bad! Waluigi Time! 13:14, 1 March 2019 (EST)
What about the Super Mario World information? It has a significant purpose. --  FanOfYoshi 13:25, 1 March 2019 (EST)
I disagree, there's nothing on this page regarding SMW that can't be or isn't already mentioned on the Cape Mario or Cape Feather pages. --  Too Bad! Waluigi Time! 13:33, 1 March 2019 (EST)

Regarding the aboveEdit

I'm confused about why this has been cleaned-up. Yes, it can be on the Cape Mario and Cape Feather pages, but that's a loss of information we had here. Why did we clean this up specifically? Maybe a merge then? --  FanOfYoshi 04:00, April 2, 2019 (EDT)

Uhhh...what exactly are you trying to say?   (T|C) 08:52, April 2, 2019 (EDT)
I'm trying to tell that i am confused about why we removed important information. --  FanOfYoshi 09:47, April 2, 2019 (EDT)
As I've said before, it wasn't a loss of information, it was just redundant to Cape Feather, Cape Mario, and Superstar Mario articles. It's the reason Superball is also on its way to being merged with Superball Mario.   (T|C) 09:57, April 2, 2019 (EDT)
How was it redundant? --  FanOfYoshi 10:04, April 2, 2019 (EDT)
