Is this a character or a species? it seems like there is only one, and it is the one that races mario. A Link to the Present 19:10, 23 April 2011 (EDT)

There's just the one. Mario4Ever (talk) 19:15, 23 April 2011 (EDT)

Is the name Black Boo official? Same goes for Green Boo and Red Boo. Zakor1138 01:19, 21 May 2012 (EDT)

The SMBD instruction manual mentioned "the legendary Black Boo", so yeah, that one's official. I'm not sure about the other two, but Red Boo's probably named in whatever game provided the French name (my guess is SMS), at the very least. - Walkazo 18:39, 22 May 2012 (EDT)

merge 7-0

Welp, this is the second Boo Proposal I made in the past 24 hours. Tying back to the Green Boo proposal I made a little while back, I don’t see a reason for this to be an article that’s separate from the main boo page. At the end of the day, the functionality of this boo is the same as the green boo’s original functionality: A recolor used to show an increase in difficulty. But unlike the Green Boo, this one had a name in the manual. So basically, It’s functionally the same as a boo but it has a Recolor and a Name.

What do you think?

Merge with Boo[edit]

  1. Somethingone (talk) Personally I think this is the hardest merge to do, but nevertheless I feel like it can go on the Main Boo page. The recolor is clearly just used to show a difficulty increase, in the same way the Green Boo was treated.
  2. 7feetunder (talk) For consistency with the impending Green Boo merge. This one may have a separate name in the manual, but it's still a one-off color variant, and said official name treats it as such.
  3. Glowsquid (talk) - Generic pallete swap with no oustanding ability or characterization beyond a colour change to indicate escalating difficulty. Per All (TM).
  4. Keyblade Master (talk) Per all
  5. Hewer (talk) Now that Green Boo has been merged, it only makes sense to merge the other Boos for consistency.
  6. KingGeoshiKoopshi64 (talk) Just a palette that has been in like one game? It's just there to be a palette swap for diffiulty increase just like Green Boo. Per all.
  7. Power Flotzo (talk) Per all.

Do Nothing[edit]

Comments[edit]

This one I'm unsure about (I didn't add the template). While the distinct yellow eyes add a pinch of credibility to it, the Dark Boo thing is likely a coincidence. Additionally, unlike Green Boo, this has an actual sourced name and is treated as a distinct entity, unlike say Red Boo which is a color variant. Yeah, I kind of expect this to not be as unanimous as the Green Boo one, seeing as it does have a name. But I might as well wait and see what happens. Somethingone (talk) 14:22, July 19, 2021 (EDT)
I personally don't think that having a name is a very good reason to keep it split but merge the others. This is because 'Black Boo' is a very generic name and that they would almost definitely have come up with the names 'Green Boo' and 'Red Boo' if they felt the need to refer to them in that one manual, but since they didn't, we're essentially saying that because they happened to want to mention Black Boo in that manual and not the others, Black Boo gets to stay on a separate page, despite its identical role and importance compared to the others. Hewer (talk · contributions · edit count) 03:47, July 23, 2021 (EDT)
Considering it's quote-unquote "legendary," I wouldn't say it's of identical importance. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 03:58, July 23, 2021 (EDT)
It's close enough, and the bit about it being legendary is just a throwaway line that seems to have been added purely for flavor. Dark BonesSig.png 17:37, August 1, 2021 (EDT)
While likely, I'd still be more comfortable if Red Boo had been merged first. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 00:37, August 2, 2021 (EDT)
Hewer, if your whole problem is about consistency with Green Boo, why don’t you vote on this proposal? Somethingone (talk) 18:03, July 31, 2021 (EDT)
I'm discussing this with him on his talk page. Dark BonesSig.png 17:37, August 1, 2021 (EDT)

What I want to know is where that Japanese name even comes from. It was added by an anonymous user with no source. The English name actually has a source. Even if the Japanese name did have a source, I have a hard time buying that the Thousand-Year Door enemy is related to it. Dark BonesSig.png 17:51, July 19, 2021 (EDT)

After reading a bit more, I guess you’re right. Is it possible for me to edit this proposal still? Somethingone (talk) 21:31, July 19, 2021 (EDT)
Yes. TPPs can be rewritten within the first six days of their creation per rule 14. Dark BonesSig.png 22:43, July 19, 2021 (EDT)
Ok, I think I’ll just make it a 2 option proposal(Just Boo). Somethingone (talk) 22:50, July 19, 2021 (EDT)
All done. Somethingone (talk) 22:59, July 19, 2021 (EDT)
