The game's still new, so you can probably find the guide at most stores that sell games. If not, just order it online. Redstar 20:07, 26 December 2009 (EST)

I think Amps are Electro-Chomps --~Fire?! flower~  16:29, 20 October 2011 (EDT)

Sub-species of Chain Chomp?Edit

I know about the name Electro-Chomp, but if that has been taken from a Prima guide, are you sure it's real? Amps are never shown to chomp, a common trait for every Chain Chomp. Plus that they don't have teeth. Also, I've heard Prima called Spinies "Bugs" in their SMG2 guide, and Spinies are actually small turtles with a big, spiked shell. Plus, their Japanese name "ビリキュー" (Birilyū, electric ball) looks nothing like the Japanese name of Chain Chomp, "ワンワン" (Wanwan, Bark-Bark). If it really was a sub-species, then Amps could've been named "*whateverelectricyinJapanese*Wanwan", since every Chain Chomp we have a japanese name from, has in it's Japanese name "ワンワン" (Wanwan). Just like the Goomba's Kuribo and the Koopa's Nokonoko. This is just what I think about the Fire Chomp. Although Fire Chomps have teeth, They don't chomp, like real Chain Chomps. And their Japanese name doesn't contain "Wanwan".  rend (talk) (edits)

Well if its name doesn't have wanwan in it and if it was said by Prima then its most likely false... -FourPaperHeroes 12:08, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

No matter how many errors Prima makes, it is still acknowledged by Nintendo as an official source of information. We can still assume Electro-Chomp is an error on their part and just mention that it was named as such in the Prima article.--Knife (talk) 15:46, 3 November 2010 (UTC)

It was several months ago so I don't recall entirely, but I believe I added the bit about "Electro-Chomp" being an alternate name for Amp as a joke. It's not actually used in the guide. Redstar 03:40, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

They are, hands down, thumbs up! And Redstar, if you added that as a joke, then you are breaking the rules. These are the electric Fire Chomps. Niiue - Who has lost his tail?

Yeah, I don't think they're Chomps. Most Chomps have teeth and those huge eyes. Amps don't. It's probably just a mistake in the Prima guide.

Their name in Japan does not contain "Wanwan" but that does not entirely mean they are not related to Chain Chomps. As stated above, there are such a thing as Fire Chomps, which I remember seeing from Super Mario 64 DS. They bare much resemblance to the Amps, but only shoot fire and do not have electricity around them. Amps do indeed have teeth in SM64, but the teeth haven't been shown since. I've gone to almost every official question-asking source and no one knows wheter or not Amps are related to the Chain Chomps or not. Now I know about the Electro-chomps, which bare much resemblance to Amps, but like Fire Chomps, we have no official source stating the Fire or Electro Chomps are related or are Amps. So in my opinion, until we get an official source actually stating that they are Chain Chomps or related to them, we should presume they are not. --Mariofan4eva 11:57, 8 July 2012 (EDT)

Proof that Amp from fences disappear after contact with them on NSMBEdit

I don't have my DSi and the game anymore so I'll need proof that Amps on fence disappears after Mario or Luigi makes contact with them and gets shocked.ToadMushroom823 (talk) 07:03, May 17, 2023 (EDT)
