The Super Mario Challenge Coins are a series of challenge coins produced by the merchandise company Enterplay. They are based on the coins given within the military in recognition of a notable achievement. There are thirteen unique coins in the set, which includes eight silver coins, four gold coins, and one "24 GP" coin. The silver coins individually feature Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Donkey Kong, Princess Peach, Yoshi, Toad, and Wario; the gold coins feature Mario, Donkey Kong, Bowser, and Yoshi; and the 24 GP coin features Gold Mario. The Super Mario Challenge Coins also include nine golden decals, which feature a Super Star, a ? Block, a Super Mushroom, a Coin, a Fire Flower, a Bullet Bill, Bowser, a Piranha Plant, and Mario, respectively. They are sold in blind bags that contain one random coin and one random decal. Additionally, the gold coins have a one-in-twelve chance of appearing, and the 24 GP coin has a one-in-240 chance of appearing.[1] The coins also come with three numbers and shapes on their edges, which are intended to be used however their users see fit.
