Sport Bike
The Sport Bike is a Bike body that appears in Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. As its name implies, it resembles a typical sports bike with a fairing enclosing the front part and as such it could be considered the successor to the Mach Bike from Mario Kart Wii. The bike has good acceleration and handling stats, but its weight and especially traction stats are poor. The character's logo is at the center of the front side, and there is another logo next to the exhaust pipe. It changes its varnish depending on its driver. It has the same stats as the Comet, the Yoshi Bike, and the Jet Bike. It has a four stroke twin cylinder and its sound is shared with the Yoshi Bike.
Although this bike is available from the start, CPU players will never use it, thus it is a player exclusive vehicle in the Wii U version. It is also the only starter vehicle with this feature. In Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, however, it must now be unlocked by collecting coins. A CPU Larry or Rosalina can be occasionally seen using this body paired with the Slim tires and Super Glider.

Varnish types
The Sport Bike has three different varnish types. All three of these are used by multiple characters.
The first varnish is red and dark blue. A Bullet Bill Speed Trial and Chain Chomp Racing Chains logos are on both sides.
The second varnish type is green with white trim. It has advertisements for 1-Up Racing, Roy Smooth Sounds, Mushroom Piston and Lemmy's Tire Service. A 1-Up Mushroom adorns the front of the bike.
The third varnish type is yellow and orange. It has signs for Peach & Daisy Royal Patisserie, Princess Orange and Lemmy's Tire Service on it.
On an additional note, the green and the yellow/orange varnishes for the Sport Bike greatly resemble the green and orange-yellow varnishes for the Circuit Special.

Trivia
- Like the Circuit Special, excluding the large Mii, the green varnish is the only varnish color that's not used by any large body frame characters.
