Spiked Fun Guy[1] is a small, green type of Pokey. In Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and its remake Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3, Spiked Fun Guys inhabit a handful of stages. Ordinarily, they merely move back and forth along the ground, bouncing back when they collide with a wall. Potted Spiked Fun Guys[1], aptly enough, ride within pot objects and repeatedly yet slowly jump towards Yoshi, occasionally performing a taller jump. Yoshi can simply lick up the pot, which releases the Spiked Fun Guy, or burst the enemy with an egg or seed, which leaves the pot behind and can allow another Spiked Fun Guy to hop into it. Both Spiked Fun Guys and their pots can be converted into eggs.

In Yoshi's Story, somewhat larger, purple creatures also known as Spiked Fun Guys[2] make their debut. These Spiked Fun Guys are still round and prickly, but have a completely different appearance, having large lips, big eyes, and pink, dragon-like feet. They walk from conspicuous holes in the page's background and drop down on the ground; after a moment, they begin to roll downwards on the slope they're on, either falling off the page or rolling between two slopes until they disappear after some time. Additional Spiked Fun Guys indefinitely spawn from within the same hole, popping out at select intervals. They can be swallowed and turned into eggs, and infest the sewer-themed pages of Torrential Maze and Jelly Pipe.
