“My piranha plant will gobble you up and show you what's what!”
Kamek, Yoshi's Crafted World

Spike the Piranha is the boss of Acorn Forest in Yoshi's Crafted World. He is a large Piranha Plant who is created after Kamek enchants a party ball, acorns, and thorns.

Appearance

Spike originally appears as a party ball with a few acorns and thorns inside, but when Kamek alters it, many acorns and thorns form the stem, two green pieces of paper are folded into leaves and the two halves of the party ball form his head. Spike also has cardboard teeth.

Spike's first attack is shooting blue spike balls and three Shy Guys at Yoshi. Next, he spits out five seeds, which turn into party balls with either Shy Guy or spike ball symbols on them. If Yoshi throws an egg at the Shy Guy ball, it pops open to reveal the enemy. If Yoshi attacks the party ball depicting a spike ball, a spike ball falls downward. If it falls on Spike's head, it damages him. After getting hit, Spike goes into the background and sends two waves of Naval Bud-like plants towards Yoshi. Two of the buds then hang down into the foreground and spit out blue spike balls that roll, bouncing orange spike balls, and Shy Guys. Spike spits out the seed again and jumps back into the foreground towards Yoshi, but gets stuck in the center of the arena. If Yoshi attacks Spike again, he goes into the background and sends out three waves of two rows of buds. Then, he causes buds to pop up from the dirt before appearing in the middle of the stage and spitting out red spike balls as more party balls are created. If Yoshi manages to hit the last spike ball, it lands on Spike's head and he falls apart. Afterwards, a nearby plant bursts open, revealing the red Dream Gem, which Yoshi obtains.
