The SolarStriker[1] is the namesake fighter spaceship of the Game Boy game Solar Striker. It was developed by the scientists of Earth's Federation Army to contrast the attack of the invading Reticulon Army.

In the Super Mario Land 4 manga, Marīo and Pichi-hime are the chosen pilots to drive the SolarStriker in Reticulon, armed with a floppy disk to engage the ship's weapons. The two are however send back in time and their ancestors, Mario and Princess Peach, end up in the future, replacing them. While on the ship, the SolarStriker's AI explains to Mario how to operate it, comments on its status (like how many hit it can endure before losing energy), or gives Mario the best way to take during some situations.

During the first flight, Mario is not in possession of the floppy disk, and resorts to dodging the enemies, until Epikhan crash him down, forcing him to make an emergency landing on the Moon, where he retrieves the floppy disk. With weapons engaged, Mario can shoot out the Federation's Power Pods, obtaining Power up items from those, that upgrades the ship missiles more and more, culminating in powerful Turbo Missiles. In the game, getting hurt causes the upgrade to be reverted, but for the rest of the manga, the ship only takes one singular damage: during an attack from the Blazers, a breach is created on the side of the ship, causing Marīo, Pichi, and Peach to be suck out in space. Viokun plugs the breach with its body. While Mario wants to rescue his friends, the ship suggests that it would take a lot, considering the vastness of space, and that it is better to deal with the Reticulon Army and complete the mission first. After dealing with the Reticulon Army, Mario will then find his friends on top of a Power Pod, safe and sound.
