Paper Mario series

Paper Mario

The Snowmen of Shiver Snowfield from Paper Mario.

In Paper Mario, Snowmen play an important role in the area of Shiver Snowfield where they act as the guards of the secret door to Shiver Mountain. The only way to get past them is to bring them a scarf for the scarf-less snowman and a bucket for the hat-less snowman. After Mario does this, the snowmen thank Mario and open the door to Shiver Mountain for him. In addition, Mario will be able to receive items when he sleeps in the Toad House in Shiver City after he helps out these snowmen. Goombario's tattle says, "There're so many of snowmen! They don't melt because it's cold here. The way they're standing...they remind me of gatekeepers."

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door

A Bob-omb snowman, built by a Bob-omb named Gob, makes a very minor appearance in Fahr Outpost in this game.

Mario Kart series

Snowmen appear as obstacles in the Mario Kart 64 course Frappe Snowland (which reappeared in Mario Kart DS), the Mario Kart: Super Circuit course Snow Land, and the Mario Kart DS course DK Pass (which reappeared in Mario Kart 7). Snowmen also appear in the Mario Kart 7 battle course, Sherbet Rink. When the player collides with one of these snowmen, the player will drop any items they have, and they will be knocked backwards a fair way. In DK Pass, they are much more dangerous, as they can potentially knock the player off the edge. These snowmen are seen to have scarves around their necks. Mario Kart 8 adds Snowmen to the retro course GCN Sherbet Land, which reappear in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

Donkey Kong Jungle Beat

In Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, a group of Snowmen decorated with bananas and common accessories inhabit in the cold climate levels, such as Ice Warren and Aurora Glacier. When Donkey Kong is detected in their presence, the Snowmen will shift their heads into his direction and attempt to block the Kong's path. Donkey Kong could easily defeat the Snowmen by sliding into them or use his Sound Wave Attack. When one of each is defeated, a banana will be obtained.

Super Princess Peach

In Super Princess Peach, Snowmen appear in some of the levels of Gleam Glacier. They serve as merely harmless obstacles, and Peach can defeat them by hitting them with Perry or destroying them with her Fury Vibe.

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games

In the Nintendo DS version of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games, Snowmen appear during the adventure mode, if Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog interact with them, one of the Snowman's hat will reveal New briefs about the characters, details about the location each Snow Spirits are resided, and occasionally hearts. Snowmen also serve as obstacles in the dream event, Blazing Bobsleigh.
